Boot Camp or Parallels 11

Hello

I just bought a new Mac Book Pro 13 "Retina Display. I intend to use Windows 10 on my mac book as well. For the most part, I'll use windows for commercial purposes like MS Office, email, photoshop, navigation and sometimes I could use it for the basic games.

I'm stuck between Bootcamp and parallels. Parallels seems more user-friendly, attributes of parallels seems as easy as switching between two systems also things I want to do it on Windows could not push the memory and device allows to execute in good performance. However I still have concerns about the Parallels because of performance issues I've read so far. Since its running the two systems at the same time, it could reduce the performance of the laptop. I would get the best performance and the face with minimal breakdowns of the system that I use.

Also, I read a lot of articles that says that boot camp is best in performance wise but I couldn't make the decision for my case and my features. I need suggestions from other users who are more experienced with Mac in order to make a decision between them.

Plug from my laptop.

-3.1 GHz Intel Core i7

-GB 16, 1867 MHz DDR3

-512 GB of Flash storage

Thank you

Perhaps you are not aware of this, but OS X comes with e-mail software. MS Office is available for OS X, just like most of the products like Photoshop Adobe. OS X also comes with its own browser. My question is why you must use Windows to run programs that you run on OS X without using Windows?

Although Boot Camp is slightly faster with Windows and Parallels, but unless the speed is essential Parallels is much easier to use provided that you have sufficient memory to run two operating systems simultaneously.

To be honest, Windows 10 is compatible with your Mac, but Apple does not release from Windows 10 drivers for it. There are various guides on the Internet to install the drivers for Boot Camp Windows 10 even if your Mac is not supported, but follow them at your own risk (don't forget that you won't receive help to make).

However, you are free to run Windows 10 on a virtual machine. To do this, you can use Parallels, VMware or VirtualBox, but remember that a virtual machine will give you less performance than Windows natively on your iMac. Read-> Windows in BootCamp or Virtual Machine?

I have a Windows 7 key I used with Parallels (on my Mac). I was unable to uninstall Parallels, and now I want to use my key Windows with Boot Camp instead. How can I turn off the key to the prior use (same computer)? Is this possible?

Unfortunately, I am not able to return to Parallels. (I upgraded my Mac o/s to an incompatible version with the version of Parallels, I had installed).

    Thanks for the suggestion, if!

  • With parallel should I still need to use boot camp to install windows 7?

    Hello

For example if my mac pro laptop computer requires to install the Windows 7 operating system and I have a parallel software do I need to install via boot camp?

No, Boot Camp is not necessary to install Windows 7 in Parallels. Parallels installs Windows 7 by starting in the virtual machine.

You will need to launch Parallels in OS X, use the construction in the wizard to create a new virtual machine for Windows 7 and configure it with enough disk space and memory to run it inside of OS X.

How to install Windows 7 in OS X using Parallels Desktop

Please note that if you already have an existing installation of Windows 7 in Boot Camp, you will need an additional license to install Windows 7 in Parallels or you will need to remove the boot camp install if you want to reuse the product key.

Yes, you must purchase a full license for the second installation of Windows 7 product key.  1 activation allows only one Windows 7 product key.  Apparently, you now have a second facility that requires a second product key. Carey Frisch

You can install Parallels, but you will not be able to transfer your license existing if its already active in Boot Camp. You first need to remove the Boot Camp, then you can transfer it to Parallels. You may need to reactivate by phone:

  • Windows 10 free update (until July 29, 2016) for Boot Camp on end of 2015 iMac?

    Hello

Today, I noticed that this free update of Windows 10 is available until July 29, 2016.

I didn't need to date, but will probably have to Windows soon.

Is it possible to install this upgrade for my new iMac (retina 5K, 27 inches, end of 2015)?

I learned that I can install only 10 Windows with Boot Camp, but none of the previous versions.

I have a full version of Windows 7 Home Premium (DVD set & key)

and later I bought an upgrade of Windows 8 pro (download and key).

This help and how would it use?

I never had the Boot Camp on this iMac.

For now, I download the ISO from here.

    Thank you very much.

If you are running OS 10.11 then Windows 7 is no longer an option to install through bootcamp. MS stopped support of the operating system, and therefore Apple.

If you don't install window 10 by July 29 deadline you don't perhaps more power get it for free or to install on any device for free even if you downloaded and saved before that time. Windows 10 must be installed, so it can bind to a system configuration and report this configuration for Member States qualify for free use. After that this time, he has not stated by MS so the program will remain free or will be a purchase (once or monthly) MS said they will not charge for Windows 10, if it was installed before that deadline, the exceptions are 10 Windows for the use of the company.

If you want to use a version of Windows on a Mac before winning 10 eye in VMWare or Parallels for Mac, or a previous instance of Mac OS X, where the old versions are supported under bootcamp.

  • Boot camp is no boot device

    Hello community,

I used to read every forum/discuss before posting, so it's the first time here.

    My config:

    Mac pro 3.1 2008 / Mac osx 10.11 / Boot camp 5 / windows 7 update to windows 10

I have installed since a year now Bootcamp, windows told me I was able to update windows 10, and they were little good cause I managed to update without any problem, I used windows 10 for a month and have never encounter the difficulties in moving an OS x and windows.

But yesterday, I needed to format my disk HARD school wich has been used for time machine. Time machine has been disabled for months (because it was full and keeping saying that it was impossible to save) and I needed a free space to use with Windows 10.

I deleted and format FAT32, this secondary hard drive, so I could not boot into windows, keep showed a black screen with flashing white guest and not any something key.

If I go to select a restart from a drive, I can choose OS x or bootcamp.

I can see my partition boot camp on OS X with all data still there, but when I push the button option at the beginning, I have only 2 choices: - Mac OS X - or - restore 10.11 - I don't see my windows startup.

I tried to download parallels desktop to see if he is able to start my training camp. But parallel shows me "no boot device."

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you.

  • Is it possible to remote access to my Mac Boot Camp partition?

I know this may sound stupid, because my Mac partition is offline due to Boot Camp, but I just wanted to know if it was possible to remote access and open terminal applications / mac from my Mac at a training Camp. I don't mean for the use of Google Drive either. Looking something like a reversal Parallels/VMware.

    Hope that explains it.

Too bad. I found a solution. Used Paragon Software HFS + to access and modify the shared files of Mac in Bootcamp.

  • 10 Windows run with boot camp to an external hard drive

    Hello

I have a MBP 13 "2015 i5 8 GB of Ram and 128 GB of storage, and I want to run windows 10 (for games) with boot camp (so if I'm right, OS X is off and Windows is on). I have parallels desktop and I can run windows 10 (located hard ext on my drive) but it is impossible to play with a virtual machine. So, I wonder if I can start and run windows 10 of my drive hard ext? I have only 128GB one my Mac using windows and OS X on it is impossible. Thanks for your help! (just to be clear: If you the solution works, if I disconnect my HDD ext all windows will be bug (or something like that)).

-Parallels Desktop (PD) is an application that manages a VirtualMachine (VM): this is a large file. PD can run at the same time as the OSX.

-Bootcamp is another partition on your hard drive where your Windows is running: it may not work with OSX, you start on the Windows partition or in the partition oSX; you do this partition and install Windows in there with the BootcampAssistant application. The BootcampAssitant can't do a Bootcamp Partition on an external drive as far as I know.

What version of the Windows operating system is installed on the computer?

When you are using Apple Boot Camp, you must hold down the Option key when starting. Then, by using the left and right arrow keys to choose which operating system you want to start.

  • After update of El Capitan, Fusion 8 will not open the Boot Camp virtual machine

    Greetings!

I'm having a problem with the Fusion 8 since my update to El Capitan.   My Boot Camp partition is functional and I can boot directly into it very well - all my files and data are intact.   However, when I try to start the machine Boot Camp in a virtual machine within OS x, I get the following error:

    Operation not permitted

Cannot open disk "/ Administrator/Users / / Library/Application Support/VMWare Fusion/Virtual Machines/Boot Camp/Boot Camp 2.vmwarevm/Boot Camp 2.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends."   Module 'Disc' on failed.   Unable to start the virtual machine. »

I remember a message from the update of El Capitan, indicating that it is an element incompatible Parallels and disabled.   I thought it was the components of laggard remains from when I ran a parallel trial a year ago, but perhaps it is related?

    Help, please!

    Hi gang,.

I have a solution for this!   After I created this post, I created a ticket with support and they solved it for me.

Here's the skinny: El Capitan has changed something wise permissions to access data files on the Bootcamp partition.  VMWare said they were working to solve this, but in the meantime they had me do made me upward and short... just remove the entry of the virtual machine Boot Camp in Fusion and recreate it.   I recommend you save beforehand in case where, but this process does not affect the data on your partition, only one definition of the Fusion of the virtual machine and how you can access your score.

  • Boot Camp fusion 3 volume is not found...

I installed VMware Fusion 3 on a Mac Pro (under Snow Leopard) and configure it to use my existing Boot Camp partition (Windows XP).

Everything installs and runs fine until I have restart the Mac Pro.

"The volume of Boot Camp is not found.

If this volume is no longer needed, you can safely remove

the entrance to the library. »

I deleted this entry and passed through the installation program to run my Boot Camp partition windows several times, always with the same problem.

Anyone else see this problem?  Any ideas on how to fix?

I was really hoping to get Parallels Desktop, but it would be a show-stopper for me...

Well, I found what was wrong with mine; I have several drives, and Mac OS X is not systematically number them in/dev/diskX lymph. When I ran Fusion3, my boot camp partition is on/dev/disk3. Earlier today, after the reboot, it is on/dev/disk1.

After restarting a few times everything let shuffle randomly, once that its under/dev/disk3 Windows loads again.

A little research on Google shows that it's a known issue for the merger of TWO YEARS, that Mac OS X does not provide the nodes of compatible device for readers... and its pretty nutty for the OS to do this, it is quite unacceptable that it is always a problem in a newly released product.

This really, really, really needs to be fixed. A month ago.

To the OP: If you have only a single drive we could not have the same problem after all. :/
