• Why a "ul" is placed at the beginning AND at the end of a class selector?

  I'm quite confused something.  I thought that a rule CSS selector for bulleted lists was written like this:

  . List ul li {}

  margin-top: 1px;

  float: left;

  etc...

  {

  But I see in places different, written like this:

  UL. List ul li {}

  margin-top: 1px;

  float: left;

  etc...

  {

  The difference being that a "ul" is placed at the beginning of all the class selectors unordered list, in addition to the 'ul' as a result of the selection.

  There must be a reason to make it in two places... I was wondering if someone could explain it to me.

  Your selector down, .list ul li, means (read from right to left):

  • a list item
  • inside or after a list unordered
  • inside or after a class element = "list"

  Your selector down, ul.list ul li, means

  • a list item
  • inside or after a list unordered
  • inside or after a list of unordered class = "list"

  In the first case, class = "list" could be assigned to ANY element, for example, a div or a li.

  In the second case, class = "list" is attributed mostly to an unordered list.

  The only time where it's the same rule is what class = 'list' is assigned to an unordered list.

  It is not necessary to repeat the ul to start both and inside the selection, but it is necessary if you want only a list item of the profile given in the second example above in style.

• Editor settings online for the css class selector

  Hello

  We want to reduce the number of available classes in the css selector in the online editor.

  We followed the instructions on how to use the partner portal, i.e.

  1. go to the partner portal > tools > editor online settings.

  2. choose the site

  3. click on Apply Css Editor

  4 added the name of the class that I want to show my editor one by one.

  And the process is.

  But our settings have not taken effect.

  In fact, it removes all the classes of the selector.

  This implemented?

  I know this is an old post, but just in case anyone is wondering, if you add custom classes or IDs to the Publisher, they must also appear EXACTLY the same in your CSS to the template file. So, if you add the following to your classes online editor:

  .img-right

  left-.img

  You will need in your CSS:

  .img-left {}

  .img-right {}

  Otherwise, it will not be displayed. If they will NOT work:

  . Happy .img-left {}

  #post - 36 left-.img {}

  @media (min-width: 480px) {.img-left {}}

  No, you cannot apply classes, IDS, or what anyone in the head of the inline styles.

• Issue of class BisBOptions

  What is the "ConnectionType" we need to set to get BIS - B to work?  Is this documented somewhere?

  May sound stupid... but the BIS-B string does not work.

  If its just "http" i.e. transport type, then we enter BIS-B chain?  Or can someone use BIS - B now?

• Skin on the theme of black selector does not

  I'm defining skin selector to the black theme.   I can get this to work if I put the general themes to black, but I don't want my entire application returned to black theme, just this selector.  I tried to put the skins for each of the components (http://www.blackberry.com/developers/docs/airapi/1.0.0/index.html) of the harvester, but the components you see before clicking on the selector to stay in the white theme.  When I click on the selector, you see black-themed items.  I used

  budgetPicker.setButtonSkin (new PickerButtonSkinBlack);
  budgetPicker.setListBackgroundSkin (new PickerListBackgroundBlack);
  budgetPicker.setSelectionSkin (new PickerSelectionBlack);

  But the .setButtonSkin does nothing.  Even if I comment out it makes no difference.

  I did some more research and found a possible workaround. Thanks to Flash Builder, I could sniff the class selector via its extension with a custom class. It turns out that the button is a protected value therefore fully accessible only through the extension of the class. to summarize I essentially took the setButtonSkin method and it overrode and then altered the __buttonBackground (turns out there's a button so its skinnable via its own method of setSkin).

  It should have the same features of the original class with just one method of updated the setButtonSkin(). I would also add, because it's a total guess I don't know if we are losing additional features. example, if something else were also made in this method, I do not know. but it does the job well I hope this helps until they disappear the bug. • Table of contents issue in Captivate 8!

  I use 8 Captivate and noticed that the width of the table of contents and the size of the font of titles are always the same in the primary, tablets, and mobile views.

  
  

  It is therefore impossible to use a size of width and the police appropriate to the main display because it will not exceed the edges of the mobile view, and if I do to adapt to this latter view, it becames too small for the primary display.

  
  

  How can I have a different TOC width and font size of table of contents for each display mode?

  If you use query selectors media in the CSS after you publish the project, you can have control more the sizes of fonts in any size of device. How do you use the questions from the media that you tell, stir with eyes wonder? Glad you asked, lets give it a whirl!

  First, we're going to get an overview of the project in a browser and to inspect the items in the table of contents to get their name of CSS class. We also take note of the name of the CSS file that has the rules of the element.

  

  So, we see that the font for each of these three sizes are controlled by the following CSS classes:

  .tocTitleText - "table of contents".

  .tocSlideTitleHeading - 'page title '.

  .tocText - "Slide".

  And the CSS for these classes is located in CPLibraryAll.css (which is put in the assets/css folder of the published project).

  For once we finish tinkering with our project and we are ready to add the media question our training cake icing, publish the project and navigate to the assets/css folder, and open the CPLibraryAll.css file in your favorite text editor. Most of the CSS been compressed up there at the top, but fear not, we'll just do scroll to the bottom of the file and create new things. Here's some info on the media if there will are curious. It's just the first link at random on the topic that I thought was useful, there are many others if you google it. Now to return to the program!

  

  At the bottom of the CSS file add these three requests, I'll paste it here so you can simply take their easy:

  Now, you will probably change these values to the size of the font to something more close to what you were going, but stick to the same concept: small fonts for the smaller device, large fonts for larger sizes of device. My values here are quite subtle, so don't be afraid to experiment, and I used the pixel (px) instead of sizes in points (pt) so you can change that as well. Nevertheless, do not hesitate to go back into this file and adjust the sizes more to your taste if watch you it and it is not quite to the height.

  So it's probably a little obvious by the text in the Scriptures we've created rules for these three classes that apply only in certain situations, it is better media queries. In this case, we have a set of queries, one for each when the device or look a size struck the unit standard sweet spots: 360, 768 and 1024 pixels width respectively. Allows to extract a screengrab of it in action:

  

  Here we see for a width of 344 device, max-device-width: query 360px a kicking and substituted the class selectors. In the example, I highlighted the tocSlideTitleHeading to show the link between what it looks like and how the media query has adjusted the font size.

  My experience with the PAC was that if perform you this type of change (introduce the code or settings directly in CAP files) its best to do once you are all written when publishing done with the project. I can't say for sure, but I guess that if you make changes to the CSS file then go back and edit the project in Cape Town and re - publish your tricks of the media query will get wiped out and you will need to put back in. Just something to keep in mind.

  I want to add css custom to a particular id and it does not work, but when it's a TAG of his work.

  Are you sure you are using the right format for CSS ID and class selectors? Have a look here - http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_id_class.asp.

• Can I use multiple &lt; class p 'logos' = &gt; tag with the same name in the same html page?

  I was told do not to use the < div class > tags too many times. I used them for the texts, the images, to clear the floats, basically, I built my website using multiple < div class > tags. So if I can not use several tags < div class > can I use the tags < class p > several times in the same html page?

  I have a string of logos at the bottom of my Web page that all use the same css for all logos features. It would be the right way to write the code:

  I restarted the site in order to write the code correctly so that I don't come from errors when downloading from the server, as I have with the above link.

  However, custom (and it's only a good one I think) are to use IDS to identify the primary container on your page.  Clearly you usually only have one header, content, footer, etc., area on a page.  This allows you to immediately identify where these rules apply.  Using a more generic class selector does not give you the same immediate locatability.  In addition to this, ID selectors have a specificity greated than the class selectors, which reinforces the rules cascade in the specific containers.

• Issue of NAV bar

  I built the first handful of pages for a site using DW CS4. I have a few flaws that I can't seem to get sorted.

  Here is the site:

  First question is the main navigation bar (in the header). I created it in floating css background images and using a: link and a: hover and a: active. It works very well (in firefox) except for one thing. I want links to active (orange) color when the user is on the associated page. So the link for STAR is white when, has the shadow to the overview effect and would be the Orange color down. I can't figure out how to get a low State to work.

  Second problem is with the horizontal AMT at the top. It looks good in Firefox, but in IE 8 the right email link to put on a second/bottom line and who isn't good more it seems messy to the top of the nave at the bottom of the header bar.

  Any help with this will be appreciated.

  To start you are doing great! I'm not trying to ask, but your CSS is lack of structure, consistency and is extremely bloated and repetitive; but it's something that you will learn as hone you your skills. Remember, writing better CSS is a matter of practice, CSS is easy to learn but difficult to master in a short time.

  Example: If you want to use a repetitive way css style, attached to a class selector, make use of the legacy and the appropriate naming convention.
  Example: You have a sidebar called rightContent; What to do if your boss or your client has requested that you place the contents to the left, will change you the name of leftContent? You would place a rightContent left? What content on the left?

  Instead, use the following names: Sidebar, primarySidebar, secondarySidebar, primaryContent, subContent.

  This way you can move things around.

  That said, Yes, you will need to place this class in each page of the main template so that when you make additional pages from the template or the Web site, it becomes included in all other pages. It would have been easier from the start. Therefore, when you design your model, include the active selector on every page of the respective tab/links, that all you have to do is make changes in your css.
