  I have a HP Compaq dc5750 I just got an EVGA Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS, and I'm having a problem with it.   This kind of question is mainly caused by the sound card driver is not not compatible.  Contact the hardware manufacturer directly to confirm the driver is compatible or not.

  Test the issue with another pair of speakers or headphones, or you can plug the device of reading to another port to see the result.

  In the meantime, you can also see if the playback device is disabled. To do this, please check the following steps:

  1 Please, click Start-> Control Panel-> Sound.

  2. on the playback tab, right-click on the empty square and then click on "show disabled devices".

  3. check if your playback device is disabled. If so, right-click on it and click Activate.

  1. Please click Start, type services.msc and press ENTER.

  2. double-click on Windows Audio.

  3. click on the 'general' tab. Make sure the "Startup Type" is "automatic". Then please click on "Stop" under "Status of Service" to stop the service.

  I found the problem... once again: I had to go to the BIOS and enable Audio integrated. My audio integrated uses Realtek High Definition Audio instead of Nvidia High Definition Audio.

  I just test it and I wanted to give you a link to a Web site that will give you more details, and you should be able to use the default microsoft keyboard. If you don't like the layout, you can change its style to a full keyboard, or use the keyboard of entry of tablet pc that comes with windows accessibility features.

  I have a persistant problem with my F50 - 12L screen, suddenly, the brightness of the screen/flashing / display flashes monte and down all of a sudden (it's not weak, it happens when I'm not working as well)

  When I start my laptop, everything is smooth and works very well, suddenly it start to blink/display brightness up and down and flashing seconds, then disappears and back to normal! I use the drivers the most recent and latest 2.2 bios and OS is win7 ultimate 32 bit.

  I took it twice for the authorized reseller/support here in Egypt who called El-Araby Toshiba: http://toshiba.elarabygroup.com, whenever they say nothing wrong with it! I check it before leaving and all is well, and I tell them it's happening all the time, it happens right in front of them (is it my fault? lol) and back to the House and test it, he can run for hours without blinking etc, but all of a sudden he started once again for a while and disappear and so on...

  I thought that this is a problem with the adapter, it also happens when I'm working on the battery, and I tried to remove the battery and work on the adapter directly (to check if there is nothing wrong with the battery) and it happened again.

  Also, I tried to change my power mode, I tried all: high perf, balanced & power save modes, it "s happens regardless of the mode that I use.

  * Sometimes, when it happens, there is a noise hmm I do not know the source of the sound, but it seems to be the fan! (not sure, weird low sound! it's like zzzzz) I tried to set the screen and flashing/blinking disappears, but he don't help all the time, is there a problem with the screen itself?

  I got tired of this and of this support officer here in Egypt I can't drive for all the days 2 hours for nothing useful, and it's hard for me to leave the laptop for days each week when it happened.

  I m no technician and it is not easy to create some opinion or give advice based on the description of your problem. It's always the best way to understand the problem to see exactly what is happening. What it looks like, how the laptop or screen responds.

  It will be interesting to know if the same happen when the laptop is connected to an external monitor only. If this is not the case, the problem described is probably associated with LCD or FL inverter (because of its strange, you can hear).

• the mini iPad screen is distorted

  I have a mini iPad 2 wifi with iOS 9.1.2 and yesterday I started having a problem with my screen. I don't know how to describe that bother the washed white screen looks. When I start the iPad is when the problem occurs, it never starts in the middle of use. If I hit turn the Oran and on again once it disappears usually but sometimes I have to do this several times. Any thoughts or anyone else having this problem?

  I have HP Pavilion dv7 7003 - portable tx which has 17.3 "FHD display. I have 2 simple questions that I have not found someone asked before.

  First question. I can easily adjust brightness laptop computer under Windows 7. But the BIOS screen full backlit. Normally, it is not a problem (because of the black of the screen IE "Press ESC for Boot Menu" and the Windows Logo on a black background). When I connect the laptop with an HDTV via HDMI, BIOS Configuration screen backlit is bearable in the screen of the TV (depending on the setting of the TV) and unbearable (IE full backlit and white background of the HP BIOS configuration) in the screen of the laptop at the same time. It is a problem of laptop screen adjustment. I want to adjust the brightness of the laptop regardless of starting Windows screen.   Not the F2 and F3 keys is not a function in the BIOS. The screen cannot be cleared up or dimmed inside the BIOS.

  For the issue of screen resolution, the resolution provided for within Windows should also be the resolution on login/Welcome screen. Try to reset your resolution in Windows (without an attached external monitor), and then restart it a few times to see if the resolution sticks throughout the boot process. Let me know the results when you get a chance.

• X 230 screen problem

  I just got my second x 230 laptop and problems with the screen. The screen is constantly shimmering and it is much more obvious when the background is dark gray. This is the replacement that I just got and it still has the same problem. On the first trackpad was loose and had the flashing screen problem so I asked a replacement and the same issue of screen and also the battery does not fit in correctly even when I lock both sides it is always a big gap on one side and it is very vague. I m totally disappointed with the Lenovo quality control. but also tired of send them back as I believe that the following will probably be some other problems. What I tried:

  1 - Updated BIOS updated

  2. all the updated video drivers updated

  3. increase of 16 GB ram

  None of them solved the problem. It is also an IPS display.

  I would appreciate an answer if someone had the same problem and managed to fix it somehow.

  Change with the increase in brightness? You may be sensitive to slow pulse modulation to control the brightness of the LED backlighting.

  Regarding the flicker with certain model I see as well on my X 220. Even my professional monitor NEC 2090 UXi was the question when slowly turned on but it disappears in a few hours. The reason is fully explained here http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php and there is probably no solution for this in the laptop display segment. It is unlikely that you have two boxes with the question that will be just a bad luck, but there could be a lot of poster that shows the issue more than others.

  Another reason could be used to simulate colors 8 bits resolution per channel FRC . X 220 display / X 230 is very likely e - IPS, technology, which is limited to 6 bits only. The particular implementation of the FRC may also present effects of annoying flicker for some combinations of color.

  Sorry, I don't have any good advice. Buying an LCD monitor is always a nightmare for me because there are too many possible questions that would bore me. On the other hand, X 230 is currently the only Lenovo laptop which has a decent view. Other models have TN craps only.

• Stylus Pro/iOS 9.2/3rd party iPad bug

  It's my second iPad Pro since Dec. 23. I had my first replaced because he was a topic on the screen which seems not to respond with my jot adonit stylus pro. So when I first came to this replacement, after the service provider deemed first one defective, I tested it before going to the store. Everything was fine. The pen worked all over the screen. Then, I have upgraded to iOS 9.2. The bug is back and on the same sector than before! The area is near the smart connector. (see attached photo) It was very similar, if not exactly the same area where the iPad Pro I had replaced had stylus response problem. I really think that it was a bug in iOS, since before the upgrade to 9.2, this problem did not exist. Please fix this in the next update.

  

  I use a point w/pixel Adonit Jot touch with my iPad Pro and have not noticed this problem at all.

  You use the Adonit Jot Pro with the disc on the end?

  Make sure that is not the drive or the pen end i.e. issues like screen technology is different in the iPad Pro, in particular for certain types of stylii?

• H8-1040 video driver crashing, then system restore to properly initialize

  I've had some problems with my graphics card driver to crash. After moving, I took the card and clean the dust. The question is somewhat degraded. (As you can imagine, the issue did appear in Mode safe). Nevertheless, I decided to do a system restore. At the end of the recovery of the system, the computer never went to the configuration of the operating system screen. In fact, it just shows a blank screen now when it starts. There is no error beeps and the diagnostic system withdraws. I'm not entirely sure what to do. I tried to start in safe mode, but the computer says it cannot complete the installation in safe mode.

  If my card is dead?

  There are several products listed under search for h8-1040 but if your PC is QN562AA product number, then we can proceed on this basis, or you can post your product number.

  The 7xx NVIDIA graphics cards will not work on your PC like your PC is the older BIOS version 7.  You must have a BIOS version 8 which is not available for your PC.

  NVIDIA 550 in your PC is a good graphics card and to get the same or better you would need to get the 660 of NVIDIA that is designed to work with a 450 Watt power supply.

• I love my X220i!

  I was intending to buy it for 2 months. It was actually really cheap with the student discount (had to leave ship it. In Poland, the cheapest version costs more than i7 + IPS United States...). There since yesterday.

  ITS JUST PERFECT AND I LOVE IT.

  Although there are a few minor issues:

  -screen is a bit grainy (easy to see on white colorts),

  -Touchpad/trackpoint are not cooperate as well. If I use the trackpoint buttons or trackpoint himself, touchpad stops working during a second Hopefuly this minor problem will be fixed. Another I like two tracking devices,
  -I think that this extractor fan (hope that's the right word lol), it is a bit misplaced. Should be like 0, 5cm lower, because I can see the pipe cooling of the Chile. But temperatures are good (40-50 idle, load max 75 with prime95/SC2), so no need to bother with it I guess.

  Many people complain about the quality of construction, noisy fan or high temperatures. My X220i doesn't have these issues.

• screensaver bubbles quickly after sitting for awhile

  I put my screen saver to bubbles, after about an hour, or so the bubbles on the screen are running very, very fast. no other issue with screen saver. system recovers after wiggle mouse or press a key. have not tried any other saver.

  I did some research of 2 min and found this site here . This "mod" does not really change the settings for speed, but it allows you to change a few other things for the screensaver bubbles. Just have a mess with the settings from and see how things go from there. Sorry if this sounds vague but its all I can think of right now - better than nothing I guess. M$ really needs to address this, they got nothing for centuries now :(

  I had my computer for more than 3 years and no problems until recently.  I wanted to change the image for my wallpaper and it is too big; in fact, any image I choose it turns out to be too big for my office.  I have not had this problem before.  I resized the image and now it does not show the full picture on the desktop.  It displays the resized photo but it seems that there is a peak of 4 x 6 on the screen, the background is black.  Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

  Use your image over-sized as backdrop, then...

  Right-click on an open sp [ace of desktop > Personalize > wallpaper ultimately > downstairs, under the Position of the image, click on the pointer, and then select FILL > click on save changes when finished.]

  Today my friend asked me to check his graphics card, if I traded mine to check it out. And after I put my graphics card I started facing the issue of screen BIOS long.

  Plug it into the USB cables resolved. And I reduced to UPS APC connection cable.

  A strange sound that he suddenly showing these questions!...

  Is the UPS issue?. If so how can I solve this problem? (I tried to re install the APC software...) No luck!). For now, I removed the cable of the APC.

  I tried to reset CMOS, load Optimized Defaults and also a new Version of the BIOS did not help!

  Can the graphics card change trigger this problem?... Please help me solve this problem.

  All you can do is disable the logo option and to know.

  If the BIOS or the system is still insensitive with connected APC, and therefore the INVERTER, then see how you are bypassing the UPS altogether to check if the UPS does not provide adequate food.

  Also check with the Windows Power Options in Control Panel and make sure the power values are
