It is possible to start/powered by Satellite C if lid closed?

I have a HDMI monitor and wireless keyboard configuration so the laptop lid is closed for most.

I said windows 8 to the 'status quo' when the lid is closed on AC or on battery, but if I need to reboot the laptop for Windows updates, it activates again.

If the cover is open, then it is not a problem.

Is it possible to configure the laptop to boot/power with the lid closed?

Thank you

What cell phone do you have exactly?

> so it is possible to configure the laptop to boot/power with the lid closed?

No, if the device is turned off, you must open the cover and press the power button to power the unit in place.

  • Is it possible to start Firefox without having to open any page, not even a blank page?

Just curious. Is possible to start Firefox 4.0.1 without opening any page, not even a blank page?

No, you can hide the tab, if there is only one tab open, but it's not good to do.

Perhaps if you explain why you don't want a blank tab, maybe we could have a nicer-sounding answer, if the answer is still no.

What I don't like in Firefox 4, which is a blank tab ("" subject: vacuum "") presents itself as 'New tab' which is incorrect, once you do another thing the former title on the tab before 4.0 was more correct and it was in parens so he showed better as "(sans titre) ' on the close tabs and is correct, because it has no title."

  • Is it possible to start the gateway of 2014 VeriStand using LabVIEW 2014 programmatically?

    Hello

There is a reload of the Is-there-a-possibility-to-start-the-VeriStand-2011-SP1-Gateway because what worked in 2011 SP1 is no more in 2014.

I've worn the code in the previous topic, do the same thing (calling "__cdecl Int32 StartVeriStandGateway (excluding handle Int32)" in "C:\Program Files (x 86) \National 2014\Data\NationalInstruments.VeriStand.Gateway.dll".)

Do this from a .NET (console process or windows) program or directly from a node DLLS in LabVIEW 2014 seems to have no effect, knowing the .NET code worked in 2011 even when it is called from a Windows service.

Is there a new way to do it?

Moreover, the "NationalInstruments.VeriStand.WindowsRegistry.GetInstallationDirectory ()" method disappeared from assemblies.

    Best regards

I remember before I saw this. There was a problem where the dll cannot run in the UI thread, but has no way to specify any thread, but the LabVIEW user interface thread. So, the solution was to put DLLS in a sub - VI, value than Subvi to run in the 'standard' thread and calls the value of the call to the DLL to run in any thread. See attachment.

  • Is it possible to start an application with the settings

    Hello together,

I wrote an application that is stored on a network. Another computer people begin to work with it. Now, I have the problem, that I need a few different configurations on each computer.

It is possible to start an application labview with parameters, such as: application.exe - User_1

The application must check the settings and should move to the required configuration.

Thank you very much and best regards,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

Yes it is possible. First, you need to enable the transfer of data from your settings. You can do this in the application builder. It's something like 'send command line for exe settings' you will need to activate. You will get the setting in your program with the property "App.Args". It's an array with the name of the exe as the first element and an entry for each additional parameter bound.

    It will be useful.

  • Satellite 2450: How do I start the laptop with the lid closed (LCD).

I have connected the switch of power with cables and stretched it out and it works fine.

My question is how can I start the computer with the lid closed? Is there a switch that allows the computer to know when the lid is closed or not? Can I remove this? where is this switch?

This option can be disabled threw the bios of the computer and how?

    Any help apreciated

Well, you should be able to boot up your laptop in this way, but how to market? The power button on my laptop is under the cover.

And Yes, there is a kind of switch, which leave the phone know that the door is closed, but it's only important in Windows, it does not close or go on stand-by.

To avoid this, just set power options to do nothing on a closed lid.

what you think about this? I live in Senegal and there is no center of toshiba

    Hello

I don't think that there is a problem with the CMOS battery. If it is defective or has a low voltage, the machine will give this error, BUT it will never have a problem starting up because of this. A bad battery will make the system lost track of time and date and possibly some settings that you could make in the Setup program, but when the unit starts up and displays the error message (you must press the F1 key to continue) the default settings will be defined and they are good enough to make the system bootable. I suggest you to remove any material that you may have added to the unit (memory, PC cards and so on), and then try again. If it still does not work then I think your machine is faulty and need service.

  • How do I start bluetooth on Satellite M40-184

    Hello
I bought a new Satellite M40 and I found that I have the Bluetooth Manager, but it does not show me the that Bluetooth at all besides it still gives me the message "Bluetooth device is not ready" even when my bluetooth is turned on! Kindly let me know how to solve this problem, as I have been through the whole pages of starting Instructions and possible help, but nothing seems to work. Thanx

    Imran

    Hello Imran

It will be interesting to know what unit should be connected to your device (mobile phone, printer). I hope that use you the FN + F8 key combination to activate the Bluetooth connection. If the Bluetooth connection is enabled you can start a wizard and search for other Bluetooth devices.

  • Windows XP would not start on the Satellite A105-4324

    Hello everyone.
    I have a Satellite A105-4324
Yesterday my laptop locked up all of a sudden. When I went to turn it back on it just kept restarting. It would allow me to start it in safe mode. I got a blue screen with a message that says "stop: C0000221 {bad image checksum}.
The gdi32.dll image is possibly corrupt. The header checksum does not match the checksum calculated. »
I have read online and discovered that I needed to replace the file GDi32.dll in Windows XP. Because I only have the recovery disk, I tried to restore the system without changing the HD partitions. After the recovery of the 2nd run drive, I got the message saying that it was the creation of the file of the CRC. And then I got an error message saying there was an error in recovery and turn off the computer. Now when I turn on the computer, the Windows XP screen comes on briefly and then the screen goes black. It does nothing else.
I try to understand what I am doing wrong. If necessary I will bring the computer back to out of the box, but I need the files off the laptop first before doing this. I can't lose the files. Is it possible to fix this or is it possible to move the files on my desktop, even if now, the laptop computer does not have Windows XP? Is it possible to simply borrow from someone of another real Windows XP disk and load like that without losing files?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

Are you sure that need file GDi32.dll in Windows XP?

I searched a bit and found this document from Microsoft:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326687

According to this MS document this problem may occur if there is a corrupted file in the folder in which Windows is installed and this file is not replaced during installation or one or more of the RAM modules that are installed in your laptop is faulty, or the RAM configuration is incompatible.

So I recommend simply formatting (!) the disk HARD whole, erase all the available partitions and try to reinstall the operating system!
You said you tried to install the operating system but without formatting the HARD drive. I think that the whole HARD drive must be formatted!

The restore CD contains all the necessary files and drivers.
But as you know the disk HARD formatting will erase all the files stored on the HARD drive. Sorry, but I don t see is possible to save the data.
Hmm, maybe you can save the data by removing the HARD drive and connect via external USB HDD controller to another computer.

If installation will not work, I guess that memory module is damaged.
In this case, you should check the simple modules and if necessary you need to replace!

Do you think that the guarantee is valid? If Yes, you must contact the ASP in your country because all replacements to be free!

    Good luck

    Is there an underlying problem?
He is currently, I should check anyway get?

Just a question; Do you mean the external monitor?

    > I unplugged and it stopped, and it worked when I plugged it in.
Do you mean that you have disconnected from the laptop AC adapter?

This sounds like the problem known to me
I read many similar discussions in various forums
Generally, this is question of ground loop which can cause a blink that you can solve the problem by using an adapter 2-pin

  • Starting problems with Satellite Pro M40 running Windows XP SP2

The computer suddenly shuts off when I was with her. I turned back on it and all I get now is a screen that apologize for any inconvenience and telling me that Windows is not started successfully, with options to start IE in their different ways.

Trunk / normal etc. I tried them all without success, if anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful.

    Hello

    > Safe/normal etc. I tried, without success,
Because of your statement in the first post, I guess that the laptop does not start correctly and you can not access the windows.
In this case, I recommend simpler OS reinstall from the recovery CD.

If this procedure fails, the malfunction of equipment is possible in such cases, it is not easy to say what could be wrong.
But we should concentrate on the memory and HARD drive
However, if you have n t own resources for troubleshooting I recommend to contact a technician for additional help.

    Good luck
