It's my first Siu of this system, so I want to make some friends from different countries, how do?

Hi hangfenge,

The purpose of these forums to answer is to help people having problems with their computers and the various products we cover here - it is not a place for personal conversations in order to make friends.

To do this, I would say something like Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ or among the multitude of alll chat rooms available on the web.  Here's a search that can help you find a: http://www.bing.com/search?q=chat%20rooms%20online&PQ=chat%20rooms&SP=2&QS=AS&SK=AS1&sc=8-10&form=BB07SS&pc=BB07.

If you have problems with your computer or software, can find here appropriate forum and ask your question and someone will be happy to help you.

I hope this helps.

Good luck!

  • Cannot install KB980182 + 17 other updates - error 0x8007371c or "does not apply to this system".

I am running Vista Home Premium with Service Pack 2, 32-bit. For example, I have the 8.0.6001.18828 version. I use AVAST AV and Comodo Firewall. I've never had McAfee.

I have 18 'Important' Windows Vista updates will not be installed: several updates, several windows Vista updates, etc. Back to 08/12/09 and 27/04/10 the most recent. They start to add up. Here is a screenshot of them:

For about 11 of them, let's say in the meantime (until restarted), but then after the resumption, that they do not have to install but have no error code. The event viewer indicates that they are 'not applicable for this system' (then why they have been downloaded?). Who does not apply are: KB905866 KB971468, KB972270 KB979683 KB978601, KB977816, KB978338, KB979099, KB974318, KB980248, KB980232.

The rest of them, as (for example, KB980182) will fail because of an error of 8007371 C. In Event Viewer, they all have a sequence of error similar to this one (it's for KB980182):

  • Microsoft Management Console error: this function is not supported on this system. Also noticed that the automatic updates did not install it and returned error 80070005.

Original title: Microsoft Management Console this feature only is not supported on this system

I am running Vista 32 bit Business since an administrator account.

Recently, I noticed that the automatic updates did not install it and returned error 80070005.   After investigation, I found that I could not open mmc at all and always get the message "this function no is not supported on this system.  No major changes have been made to the configuration to trigger it and I can't watch the event log because it is in the MMC.
I have studied this question in line and tool the following actions, which none worked:
carried out a complete antivirus scan (I use Commodo internet security)
    created another account administrator
    has run SFC (no problem)
has run the registry cleaner (no problem)
has run msconfig.exe and disabled all the startup process
updated windows right click and run as administrator
Started in safe mode and tried all above
After that, I don't know where to go... it doesn't seem to be a download for Windows vista to reinstall mmc.
I have about 50 updates critical, sitting in my windows update that can not install because of this problem.  Can anyone help?
    Jeff

    Hello Helpmehelpme,

First, I would check since it is professional Vista was that computer on a field of work or it was already on an area of work? There may be group policies that are in place that prevent to run MMC.

When did start to happening? Is there anything new on the system which has been introduced into the environment (software, hardware)?

This thread gives a few steps trying to the original poster that you can't have.

  • Splash Screen dump - "Beware, this system should be reserved for users... "click OK

Bought a used computer, must have been a computer on a network.

First screen that is displayed after the MESSAGE, it's a boring that reads

"Attention, this system must be booked... authorized users use may be monitored, reported to the police... "and so on, I have to click on > OK pre-start continues to start in Vista Home Premium.

It of a pain in the _, reminds me of big brother watching, and I hate it. I don't seem to be part of Vista or start-up, maybe that is part of Microsoft Network Monitor 3.1?

Tried searching all files including hidden and system, tried to search in regedit, checked the sites Google and Microsoft, do not know where else to look at.

Any suggestions on where to look or what to try or where to post this question would be greatly appreciated!

So close to David! The search box found no, so instead, I went to > RUN, typing REGEDIT, navigated > computer > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > policies > system is where I saw in the list in the other panes LegalNoticeCaption and LegalNoticeText, that would right click and choose Edit value, then a box pop up with the word "warning" and I would like to delete , even with the next line. I also discovered the button SEARCH in the drop-down menu EDIT where I could enter 'LegelNoticeText '. As well, a button preferred so I could find my way back.

I guess this would be the place to go to add my own chip - has * page on machine of my boyfriend.  :)

Then I noticed more high it was a line for annoying the other screen to DisplayLastLogon and changed the value from 1 to 0.

I was amazed by the quick response and appreciate the help. I even learned that RegEdit is not so scary.

    Thanks David!

This system has no multimedia support for this operation.
I use w7, and I can't find a solution. Do you know what I need to change to fix this?
    Best regards

I still don't understand why don't you try two methods that I've listed instead, or what led you to try to do as you are.  If you have missing or corrupt files, you have a major problem and have work to do.  First thing I would do would be to get my updated virus checker, start mode without fail and doing a system scan complete.  If this does not help, I will try the system restore before that your problem started again to.  If this does not work, I would look through the system with the Event Viewer log.  After that if I didn't always know what to do, I would restore my full backup of the system (if you have one).  After that, I have to resort to restore my system to factory settings if I still had problems.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.
