  Yes, I had the same issue and have also windows 7. Here's what I did to remedy.

  1. go to your Start menu and in the search the bottom type in cmd menu.

  2. right click on cmd at the top of the menu, and then click "Run as Administrator". A black box should appear.

  3. type netsh winsock reset. It should invite you to restart your computer.

  4 restart your computer and then open itunes again.

  I did and now my itunes is on the rise and running and connection to the store. I hope this helps!

  no problem with ITunes on Dell Inspiron Windows 7 until yesterday.  ITunes version 11.0.2.  iPhone will not connect to indicating the required software is not installed.  Uninstall and install the 64-bit version of iTunes.  I already have the 64-bit version.  I uninstalled and reinstalled 5 times already.  When you reinstall ITunes get error message c:\programdata\34be82c4-e596-4e99-a191-52c6199ebf6\x64\difxinst64.exe.  file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install or create an association in the default programs control panel.   install iTunes continues after the difxinst64.exe error message but then take the iphone cannot be used again error message.  Therefore, I can't sync my iphone with iTunes until I have find this.
