Depending on the context, I'll assume that you are asking how to unload files of songs from an iPod to a computer.  iTunes synchronization is generally in one direction, from iTunes to iPod library. You cannot use iTunes to transfer files of song from iPod to computer (with the exception of songs purchased from the iTunes Store)

NOTE: Songs purchased from the iTunes Store can be downloaded again free of charge, on the iTunes Store purchased screen.

Download your purchases past - Apple Support

However, there are methods and third party utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like 'ipod music transfer', you should get a few links (including a CNET article on the subject).  Once the files of songs from the iPod to your disk, add them to your current iTunes library.

Further, you should backup your iTunes data.  Apple describes a way to back up your folder full of iTunes on an external drive.

Manage and backup your iTunes media library - Apple Support

This method should also be used when switching from an old computer to a new computer.  By transferring or restore your complete iTunes folder, it's the same iTunes library on the new computer, not a new iTunes library with your old songs.  iPods are not designed to be your data from iTunes backup.

  • Lost all my music after having changed the country

    Hi all

Im having a problem with my account of Apple's music.

I had to move from the French to Spanish store so I had to cancel my subscription to Apple's music who, after restarting my membership (on the Spanish shop this time), I realized that all my music has disappeared.

The music is not on iTunes on my Mac, I tried to resync the iCloud library and everything, no chance.

This means that it is not possible to keep his music when changing the country?

    Thanks for your help guys

Anything related to music from Apple is specific to each National Bank and may not be transferred. History of purchases and nothing ripped from CD rest to you. Access your purchase history requires that you register in the right store however so keep a library of physical media is a good initiative.

  • Windows Media Player 11 on XP SP2 has lost all its music library and will not allow him to add again.

I have the media player 11 and it worked very well.  Yesterday I opened a session and opened it, and there is no music in the library.  Playlists are still there.  I tried to manually add folders to watch. No joy.  When I repeated the procedure for adding, records Analyzer was still empty.  As if I never said what to monitor.

I followed the advice offered in this forum at staceygumbert and followed a link to:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/fixing-when-windows-media-player-library-wont-let-you-add-files/.

This notice did not.  Once I deleted the database because it suggests that WMP asks about media sharing.  When I click on the button 'Settings' WMP fails and sends an error report.

If I connect my wife, everything is OK.  I tried to copy its database through my user profile.  No joy.

My Roku Soundbridge can't 'see' libraries.  However I think it's to be expected considering not having WMP does not all libraries.

    Software configuration:

  • Media player lost all music (but not music videos) and does not load the files in

Player was working fine, then night emptied all music files and now will load all of the files, but will play them if you transfer to an unsavable playlist

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft community!

I understand that Windows media player has lost all the music. I will try to help you with this question.

Try these methods and check whether it is resolved:

    Method 1:

Check the settings of the library in windows media player. Steps to follow:

    i. open Windows media player

    II. click on organize

III. Select Options, select the Library tab

IV. in the title of the newsletters of automatic support for files

    v. Select only adds the missing information

    Method 2:

Rebuild the media database and check if that helps. Follow these steps to rebuild the database:

    i. Click Start, in the search box, type in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player

II. remove the Media player folder

III. to restart the computer, the Media player folder will be automatically recreated. Check whether the problem is resolved.

This problem occurs because the Windows Media Player library database is corrupted.

Method 3: To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. click on start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.

    3. Select all the files in the folder and then click on Delete on the file menu.

Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    4. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. click on start, run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft, and then click OK.

    3. Select the Media Player folder, and then click on Delete on the file menu.

    4. restart Windows Media Player.

Please report if you are still having the problem. I will be happy to provide you with the additional options that you can use to get the problem resolved.

We can't wait to hear back on your part.

  • Lost all libraries in Windows Media Player

I had a very serious fight with a browser hijacker. I had great support from Microsoft to get results in the race, but in the process lost all my music from Windows Media Player libraries. I know that they are still in the computer, somewhere, because they went during the time of repair, but came back twice during the process of return to the somewhat operational. Is it possible to search for music files? I don't know if I should remove the player and download it somewhere (?) or go to another player or what. Some files have been compiled for many years and are not replaceable. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, always keep up to date, have 4 GB of ram and 800 GB of free space on the HARD drive. I use MS Security Essentials with Malwarebytes and Advanced System Care Pro for maintenance. Is it possible to download a new copy of Media Player. I'm starting to ramble, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd be deeply in your debt!

This seems to be a question of recovery then. No other player will improve the situation, unless the files are accessible. I could cite this entire thread of resettlement, but I think it would be better to mark this as replied and post a new question in the section 'repair and recovery' the Forum... something along the lines of 'Files lost after Browser Hijack' and then briefly detail what happened, what support you have received (and where) and I hope that someone recommends a plan of action to try to recover the lost files.
I'm sorry that a simpler solution is not an option!

  • Why have I lost all CD imported from my iTunes library

I lost all my imported CDs and all the selections of my iTunes library painstakingly compiled over the years of effort. More than 110 GB of music disappeared from one day to the next day when I upgraded the software at the end of 2015. How can I get these without restarting the whole process again? The only thing left in my library is the purchased Playlist. Can someone help, please? Thank you.

On some occasions, your iTunes library database may be affected by an iTunes update - nobody seems to know exactly why, although its been suggested that it would be the result of a conflict between the installation of iTunes and some anti-virus software program or other processes that monitor changes to files on your computer (for example the Windows Indexing service').  The content of your library, i.e. the media files and folders should be affected, but without a database iTunes file doesn't have information or links to these files.

To restore your library to a working state (which may not be necessarily as it was immediately before installing the update) see user turingtest2 on the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library.  For later use, you must create and maintain a backup of your library iTunes, and always update your backup before installing the iTunes update.  For a suitable and recommended method, see backup your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy library .

After trying to download el captain, who he said downloaded in the window of the APP Store, but won't allow me to move forward with the installation of the update (still in Yosemite market), I think that the new ITUNES 12.4.1.6.

Next time open iTunes, showed all of my library, but the text is light gray and the songs could not be played.

After a few toys iTunes didn't any of my hundreds of records with the exception of the most recent recording of Bob Dylan that I have recently downloaded onto a cd.

So maybe a quarter music is back, for example, he 6 records BECK, it showed 1.

All the music is always in my internal hard drive.

I checked the Preferences/Advanced/iTunes Media folder and the correct folder is selected.

    Anyone can help?

    Thank you

Selecting a folder of media does not affect old media displayed in iTunes. There is no what where iTunes needs to store the new media you add.

  • Lost all the files of muisc - Itunes library intact but lost hard drive with music files

    Hello

I'm on windows 10 and the latest version of Itunes. I had a separate hard drive with all my music, which represents 95% of the CD, even some captured directly from vinyl. (iknow all conferences on the backup to the top and sent hard drives for repair, but not luck)

So my Itunes library is intact, as it was stored on the drive to the OS, but every track has an exclamation point. I tried to use Itunes game and music in an attempt to restore my library, but I suspect I'm going to build it from scratch again, re - burn all my CDs

    Any ideas?

See recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device. If you subscribe to iTunes Match your should be able to create a new library and download content to it. The old one will assume that the tracks are present, even if they cannot be found. You must avoid doing anything which could remove the reference to the track in iTunes game, that's why I suggest to do a new library.

See also make a portable split library and backup your iTunes for Windows with SyncToy library.
