Java is safe again?

It's 2016, congratulations on makes this far. I looked for an answer to this question, "secure Java is still" and have yet to find a direct answer from an authoritative source, so here I am...

Is this safe, Yes/No.

* Please note how I'm not asking about how to download, how to turn it on or anything other than "JAVA SECURE YET?"
* Please note how an answer to my question would contain something similar to "Yes, Java is currently safe", or "Visit this site where this information is continuously updated." Whereas that in any other response would be to completely ignore the issue.

Hello

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

Yes, Java is safe because its developers (Oracle) is as good as Microsoft. For more information, you can see the article mentioned below.

Java and JavaScript are not the same. Is Java which often has security holes that get regular patches. If you don't need to use Java, then you can turn it off via the Java preferences panel. You should not disable JavaScript because you will need it for a lot of Web sites, and is not a problem right now.

  • After the "new version" download Java 6 times, my plugin check page indicates that he has disabled my 'version outdated' and asks me to upgrade. What do I do?

    Background:
I had this problem for several months now. This problem started when an update came to Java on the Firefox Plugin check. Quickly, I installed the new update of Java. But the Firefox update register that I downloaded, even though I refreshed the page. So, I got rid of the old Java and downloaded again the new Java. When the page has continued to post the same message he had before, I downloaded a few times more. Finally, Firefox stopped to say that I was at day. Then a few weeks later perhaps I check Firefox Plugin, and on the page it says that I'm overwhelmed in Java. So I downloaded Java again. But Java was still in the list, with the red and said that he had to be updated. I restarted the computer. Then I restarted Firefox Mozilla with no Add-ons. When Java appeared still to be updated, I gave up and did not something more on this topic.
    Problem:
Today, I decided to check my plugins. Java was not updating the list, and at the top a banner said, "Missing JAVA? For your security, Firefox has disabled your outdated version of Java. Please install the latest version. "I clicked on"upgrade to the latest version"and was brought to the Java page. I clicked on the download button. My cache indicates that it was this same Java plug-in (see background) download (6). I chose the re - download anyway. But Firefox always insists on the fact that I him have not downloaded.
    Question:
Should I go to the control panel of Java and change something? I have to fix a few settings on Firefox? Should I disable Java entirely, delete all the files related to Java on my computer and start over with Java? What should I do?

Try to use http://ninite.com/java/ninite.exe to install Java. Please note that even if download you it you have to double click it to run and install.

  • Installation of Java 1324 error - invalid character

It's SO frustrating. Every time I try to install Java, I always get the error message: "Error 1324. The AVG Plugins path contains an invalid character. »
I remember a folder named 'AVG Plugins' but it is eliminated for some time now and it was located on an external hard drive. I have no idea why he decided to blame for its failure to install on a particular file. Well, I'm sure that the folder has had a registered symbol (®) in its folder I can see where its getting the part "invalid character" of... Before it was deleted, the Plugins of AVG file contained Java installation files, but I deleted them eventually if I could reinstall it on my hard drive. I remember at one point, Java was working fine once again, but after some problems with MP3 Rocket (which depends on Java), I deleted Java and once again tried to reinstall... Which doesn't of course.

At first I thought that I would just change the destination folder but I tried to save now on many places, but I always get the same exact error message, with the same exact file mentioned (AVG plugins). I tried to install Java the way normal and in one end offline installation, I get finally to the same error message. Can someone help me please?

Here is part of an old MSINFO report (at the time when Java was installed in AVG Plugins). You can see that Java appears several times in the folder "Plugins AVG", which may have something to do with this current error message... Also, some Java files see the place in my control panel, but I'm unable to uninstall the. Let me know if this is something that I need to study in detail in order to solve this problem...

    Hello

    Method 1:
You can disable the anti-virus installed on the computer and then try to install java and check:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2:
You can also try the steps in knowledge base article and check the:

  • Most of the Youtube videos have an error

This started a few days ago, I have no idea how it started. Do not start basically very many Youtube videos in Firefox. They work fine in Chrome (although they do seem to load instantly, takes a while to start). Here is a screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/z5XP0zU.png

    What I tried:

    Reinstall Firefox
    Reinstall Flash
Clear the cache of Firefox and Flash
    New profile in Firefox
Change to HTML5 on Youtube (and disable Flash in the plug-ins)

The Youtube HTML5 (https://www.youtube.com/html5) page looks like this http://i.imgur.com/KlOSgOR.png. In Chrome, it's all green.

    Help, please.

I think I've solved the problem. I had to manually delete all versions of Java, as I got and install the most recent. In my view, the self-suppression of older versions in the applet installation did not work, so I had several versions installed at the same time, and I guess that Firefox doesn't like that.

Basically, all I had to do was go to programs and features, remove everything about Java and download again.

    Hello world

After that a new piece of software has been installed on my MAC (Microsoft Remote Desktop), my normal left click on act as a right click. With a small violin I can get to answer as usual, but it is very frustrating. The company requires me to use this software, but it is totally mucked things up.

Is there a work around here or anything I can try?

    Thank you very much!

FWIW, I had Microsoft Remote Desktop installed for quite some time and update frequently. Current version 8.0.32. I've never had something like this happen and do not know why it should touch the mouse settings. In any case, you could try to start using and then safe again. You can try to reset the SMC. If you try to reset the SMC, unplug HQ at the back of your iMac, rather than the mains.

  • Duplicate names and the (different) reports after you convert a user Win 8 to have a Microsoft account

I have install windows 8 on my laptop and my wife and two children added that users.  The children were standard windows accounts instead of Microsoft code.  Later, I decided to go ahead and give their child Microsoft ID and converted their Win 8 users to use these accounts.  Family fishing now online shows that children appears twice, once for their Win 8 users and once for their event of Microsoft user ID if the laptop only shows one.  I started to have two reports as well as with all the laptop computer acitiviy reported on user input Win 8 instead of the Microsoft ID.  I recently had a Surface RT and added everyone using their ID Microsoft now report Microsoft ID show activity for the Surface and 8 win to the lap top.

Is there a way to have everything what it under the Microsoft ID and get rid of the seizure of the accounts earn 8 (next to removing users from the laptop and recreate them just with the Microsoft ID)?

    Hi Daruin,

Yes, what you say is correct, but please also note that the system treats as different accounts with each other, so it will provide two activity reports. If you want to have a single account for your children, you just remove the accounts and implemented it family safe again. Here are the detailed steps:

    1. connect your account on http://fss.live.com.

    2. click on manage the list of the members of the family.

    3. check the name of your child.

    4. click on Remove.

Add the child account to your account by following the steps in the link below:

Bind the child account for a Parent account

Take a look at the section "Error occurs after Windows XP is already installed" of this article in the Microsoft Knowledge base.

I recommend the boot without failure and then research on the issue.

To start in Safe Mode, until the small logo of Windows with a progress bar appears, press the F8 key. In the list of options, choose Safe Mode.

Now that the first troubleshooting step, uninstall ESET NOD32 using the NOD32 removal tool (download the file via a work computer, save it to a USB drive and take it to your affected PC booted without failure).

Once uninstallation is successful, restart the PC to see if the BSOD persists.

If the BSOD persists, try to boot mode safe again. Now click on the Start button, select all programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore. Select "Restore my computer to an earlier time" and click Next. Choose a restore point before the installation of ESET NOD32, usually it will be a created restore point automatically named "Installed ESET NOD32 Antivirus" or something similar. After choosing a suitable restore point, click Next. Click Next again to confirm the restore operation.

If only NOD32 UN-installing the problem you can try to re - install it or contact the ESET Support.
