Java isn't eenabled

I just downloaded the new Firefox 4.0 and now my Java does not. I get a message to him. How can I do this? That's happened? It worked fine before downloading.

When you click the Firefox Button, then click on Addons and in the new tab "plugins" on the left side, you will find an entry named "Java (TM) platform...)?

If this is not the case, try to download and reinstall Java from www.java.com

    MyPaint myPaint = new MyPaint();

    Get rid of this line, it is originally an unlimited number of images to create.

    Then replace the following lines:

    //            myPaint.setBackground(Color.RED);
                setBackground(Color.RED);

    ...
    //            myPaint.setBackground(Color.BLUE);
                setBackground(Color.BLUE);

  • HttpServletResponse of Java isn't isClientConnected method

    I implement a connection http long poll using java servlet.

    How can I know that the http client is still active in any instance? Currently, what I do is to write a byte to the output stream and flush the data. If there is an exception of e/s, then the client is dead.

    But in ASP.NET, there is a property, Response.IsClientConnected , who may know if the customer is active without anything writing to the output stream.

    I want to know how is it possible to develop in java servlet. I don't want to continue to write data into the http response stream as it can cost to network.

    Thanks in advance.

    PC says:
    So suggest me how a server must be able to communicate to the client? Given that the customer can be inside of a browser, I can't thing of anything other than HTTP. I guess that's how gmail chat has been developed.

    If you want to be on the cutting edge, you might want to try WebSockets, but support is still uneven between browsers and you will probably have to do extra work on the side server.

  • JavaScript not work correctly with Cox

    I use my email on Cox.net. Yesterday I started to have problems with their webmail. When I connect to the page does not appear correctly. In the message preview pane, it overlaps another. So I contacted Cox about the question, and I tried to clear the cache and cookies on my computer, make the high-level security in Java instead of very high, uninstall Firefox and reinstall it, restart Firefox in safe mode, change the advanced settings of Javascript in Firefox, uninstall Java and reinstall, I restarted my computer after installation and clear cache Java. Even in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, it works perfectly fine. Firefox displays correctly on my mother's computer. What I have not done because it seems to only do this on my laptop?

    Java and Javascript are completely unrelated, in order to reinstall Java isn't need to touch javascript.

  • Search using a help vector

    Hello

    I filled a vector with the xml data.

    The vector is consit of objects Box (type, color, size).

    Now, I need to set up a search function.

    for example if the user select type 'Wood', 'red' color, size "Large", I show everything exciting in a LisField (I'm Ok with part ListField)

    can someone help me find the search logic...

    Thank you in advance.

    Again, it is just the code Java isn't?

    A simple example, suppose you have two tests for the title and the topic, and you have two BasicEditFields of corresponding entry called

    checkTtitleField and checkSubjectField

    Corresponding Boolean = true;

    String titleTomatch = checkTtitleField.getText ();

    If (titleTomatch! = null & titleTomatch. length() > 0) {}

    If (! testObject.getTitle (.equals (titleTomatch)) {})

    match = false;

    }

    String subjectTomatch = checkSubjectField.getText ();

    If (subjectTomatch! = null & subjectTomatch. length() > 0) {}

    If (! testObject.getSubject (.equals (subjectTomatch)) {})

    match = false;

    }

    If {(correspondence)

    Add to the corresponding vector

  • What is the best way to sort?

    Hi I have 1,000 customers in the database. I need to display in the drop-down list box. COMBOX is editable. The user types the letters, I need to filter and display the names of customers. for example if the user types 'a' in the combox I display all customer names beginning with "a". If the client type 'under' then I have to show only names that begin with "what," in the drop-down list box popup. for every key stroke, I filter and display the names of the clients.

    for this, there are two approaches: -.
    1. for each key stroke, go to the database and retrieve the sorted results and display. This way sort takes place in the database.
    2. pull once all clients in java, cash and therefore sort them based on key strokes. In this sorting is done in our java code.

    friends said that it is expensive to go to the database for every key stroke. I feel pulling all clients at once and their collection in java isn't a good idea.

    I'm really confused. I need a suggestion expertise. where is the best? Why is this the best way? What are the advantages and disadvantages of the two ways. Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks ejp but initially if the combo box is not empty. This means that if he did not type any letter I show all the names.

    N ° this is the error. Don't, don't. A ComboBox with 1000 or 5000 elements is completely useless. Do as I said.

    My problem is that if there are 5000 customers then what? It will not create a performance problem.

    Of course, it will be. It will also create a problem of great performance for the user.

    However, you seem to have missed something else. Using the combobox with anything, you're already running a cache. Not two ways on this subject and no way to avoid it. So all you fill with, and each time you do, all you have to do when the user types a different combination of keys is filter the model combobox to exclude everything that does not prefix that he hit. To return to the database is not yet arise.

  • Development of a non-conventional modal text editor: can I use "JTextPane?

    Hello everyone, my name is Jason and I am a new Java programmer. Although Java isn't my first programming language, I have very little experience with GUI design and development is, so Swing is exciting and a little daunting to me.

    I started on my own project: a modal minimum with a GUI text editor designed to keep your hands on the keyboard. My question relates to the design of the GUI: I wonder if I should use a 'JTextPane", or roll my own component.

    This will be the main features of the program:
    * It will be modal, rather like vi, that it has a mode in which the text is inserted and another separate mode in which all keystrokes are interpreted as commands.
    * In General, the command mode will have orders to move the caret, scrolling of the window and change the text, each more or less with respect to the following units: character, Word, sentence, paragraph, line.
    * All the keystrokes of the order will be fully customizable and, by default, to comply with a provision which is great for being able to edit, but quite unconventional.
    * All text will be displayed in the same police, but if I'm about to implement syntax highlighting that could change. At the very least, I want to be able to change the color of the text.
    * Unlimited undo/redo.
    * Capable of editing files of any size.

    I went through the Java tutorial on "text components using the" (http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/components/text.html) and got a bit familiar with the components that are available. For my program, "JTextPane" seems a good choice at first sight, but I do not know...
    (1) I read that "JTextPane" s are running well with great content. (Maybe I could get around this by breaking a large file into several pieces.) I can't verify if it's true or not, but I've read that people who develop JEdit rolled their own solution to work around this problem.
    (2) "s JTextPane" are not modal.
    (3) it seems overall, I do a lot of customization on a 'JTextPane"so that he can accomplish as I want.

    So, here are my questions:
    Do you think that a "JTextPane' is a good choice? I have to learn the "JTextPane' inside and outside in order to know how"bend to my will?
    Or I better off rolling my own solution, would use a "JPanel" and a "KeyListener" or something like that?

    And if you think I should use a 'JTextPane", if you could kindly give me some general advice about where I could start with the customization required, would be great.

    Thank you for taking the time to read this long post and thank you in advance for any help!

    I would say that this is not the right choice. It is slow with large files (several megabytes). It assumes several functions (pieces of text with different font sizes) calculation is slow so you don't really.

    I would choose JTextArea with view to support colored pieces. You, the calculations of sizes are really faster because you have monospaced police and all the pieces the same size of tank.

    To highlight, you can use highlighter/HighlightPainters.

    If you always the JTextPane is good to read the article of http://java-sl.com/JEditorPanePerformance.html on improving the performance.

    JTextArea or JTextPane are modal. You can place them in a modal JDialog.

  • Differences between JavaFX CSS and css w3c standard

    This is a discussion topic that comes to mind after reading the comments in this thread Re: FXML, css and - fx-are-family

    Feel free to comment or share your ideas on the subject.

    Note that these comments relate to the meaning of assignment of names and semantics of the css tags and not the syntax and parsing of css (such as the w3c css and css javaFX seem to be equivalent with respect to later).

    You know, sometimes I find refreshing absence of JavaFX features in css. It is nice to have, well, almost everything, the JavaFX CSS documented on one page. I think that if you were to do the same for the w3c css then it would end up with a much bigger, more difficult to understand the document and even what should be the content of this document would probably quite controversial, in the same kind of way that ends up being the HTML5 specification. Microsoft has helped more than 7,000 w3c tests just to cover only a subset of css rules that are available in browsers today. The webkit project lists open CSS nearly a thousand bugs: https://bugs.webkit.org/buglist.cgi?product=WebKit & component = CSS & resolution =-. If the implementation even partial w3c CSS support is a complex project.

    When I started using JavaFX CSS I found differences in w3c CSS quite shocking, and it was difficult to account for their. Now that I'm used to JavaFX CSS, I don't have as much of a problem. The difference in names and semantics will be an obstacle to working on JavaFX developers who are familiar with w3c CSS - but the designers quickly will also discover that FXML is not HTML and Java isn't JavaScript and JavaFX deployment is not HTML deployment. Then, perhaps, in the bigger picture, it is not as big a deal that he would appear. Yet, one cannot think that any obstacle to the people easily pick up and adopting JavaFX makes the technology a disservice.

    There are other benefits that the JavaFX CSS in its own space of names to w3c css, in what she can evolve separately, it shouldn't be exactly the same because it has a different name, it should not implement fully w3c css as browsers do so because it is clearly something different by name etc. There is even precedent for it in the use of mozilla to moz - CSS and css properties http://css-infos.net/properties/webkit - web webkit prefixes as not in standard as many people have suggested. JavaFX CSS supports a JavaFX rendering engine and not an HTML rendering engine. It is quite remarkable that Oracle has been able to build and make available a model CSS for JavaFX which feels as familiar as to the w3c css, w3c css is very strongly targeted towards style a game completely different technology (HTML markup document object model and).

    It would be useful to have a tool which translates as w3c css to the approximations of JavaFX css and vice versa, or the ability for JavaFX to have a mode (perhaps a Boolean value when a style sheet is loaded) to perform an automatic alias or the mapping of the w3c css for javafx (at least for the subset of w3c css that would make sense to automatically translate for JavaFX css). I haven't checked the jira JavaFX in detail, then maybe a request for support already exists - it's perhaps in the private http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-9272 jira.

    The JavaFX css model is really powerful and I found really useful some of the additions that it adds above the css 2.1 Basic found regularly in browsers. With the next CSS Java model object http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-17293, you will also better get access by Java programming.

    Then, good work on the construction and implementation of this complex device...

    Thanks for the comments. The gap between JavaFX CSS and CSS from W3C will be an evolutionary process. It would be nice to use the stylesheet of a standard basis, but there is not always a mapping from 1-1 to JavaFX. But for properties that can be mapped, it is something that should be supported. For example, we should be able to deal with 'police' or '- fx - police '.

    I made public http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-9272.

    After just re-read your question, I think that I thought about it. This sentence:

    "I tried to put the com folder in the (cf installation directory) / lib and tried to manually add the class path but no luck." Help please. »

    Tells me that you downloaded the source code, but it did not compile.

    Java isn't like ColdFusion. You can just put the source code in a directory and wait for it to run. You * must * compiling everything first.

    The link I've included in the other post has a precompiled version of the library with the necessary dependencies. Put * that * in your CF to dir and restart/lib.  Delete this folder com so that this does not cause problems while you're there.

    These are the numbers that concern me. I are enabling the latest version of Java, or an old one?

  • Java support for iPad/iOS

    I know it's a long question/suggestion, but I wanted to give my use case. I have an iPad 2 Air right now, that I use for personal work content and limited content is mainly. I'm certainly interested to go to the Pro 12.9 inches because it has a lot more real estate and has been marketed as the iPad that can replace my laptop. iPad is incredibly close to realize this vision, for me, but with a glaring exception: part of my job is dependent on creating content HTML using a Java plug-in. clearly, iOS and Safari never supported Java and other plug-ins in Safari for iOS and it doesn't look like it is expected to do in iOS 10. If you want to really wonder iPad on something similar to a 4 Surface Pro or any traditional computer, you have to give me all the features that I need on top of everything that I know iPad can do. It's Apple, so I know that you are able to do. If all goes well, someday, you choose to act on it.  Thank you.

    It seems that you are talking to Apple here

  • How can I add Java SE 8 of my browser

    I have a www.runthemodel.com/models/2006 application which requires Java to run 8. I have Java 8 is installed on my desktop. When can I access the site, I get a message 'a plugin is required to run the content. When can I access the site on my laptop, I am able to connect to the program without problem.
    Any suggestions

    To test whether Java is installed and enabled in Firefox, visit one of these Java test pages:

       Verify Java Version
       Verify Java Version (alternate)

    When you visit these pages, you will normally have to activate Java. How to enable Java on trusted sites, explains how. You can also see a prompt asking you to confirm that you want to run Java to Java security. This safety message isn't Java, Firefox. For more information, see the Java help page what should I do when I see a security prompt from Java?
    Activation of Java

    If Java doesn't work, make sure that the Java plugin is enabled in the Add-ons Manager tab:

       Click the menu button New Fx Menu and choose Add-ons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
       In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Plugins panel.
       Click on the Java(TM) Platform plugin to select it.
       If Java is disabled, click on Never Activate to open its drop-down menu and select the option to activate Java. The recommended (default) option is Ask to Activate, which lets you run Java when prompted.

    Note: You only need to activate the "Java (TM) Platform" plugin, if it is disabled. The plugin "Java Deployment Toolkit" is used by Java developers to detect your version of Java and deploy their Java applications and does not need to be enabled for Java to work.
    Troubleshooting

    If Java is installed but does not work, try these solutions:
    Java plugin does not appear in the Add-ons Manager

    If the Java plugin does not appear in the add-on Manager, even if Java is installed, try each of the following values, one at a time and then reopen Firefox to see if that solves the problem:
    Delete the pluginreg.dat file

    With completely closed Firefox, delete (or rename) the file pluginreg.dat is located in the Firefox profile folder (it will be regenerated once you restart Firefox, but other plug-ins that you can have turned off will be activated). See re - initialize the plugins database to get detailed instructions.
    Ensure that Java is enabled in the Java Control Panel

    From Java 7, Java Control Panel includes the security option, 'Enable Java content in the browser', which is selected by default. If this option will prevent Java applets from running in any browser and the Java plugin will no longer appear in the Firefox Add-ons Manager. Make sure that the content for activate Java in the browser is selected in the Security tab of the Panel control Java. See this Java help page for more details.
    Make sure that the 32-bit version of Java is installed

    On 64-bit Windows, if you have the 64-bit version of Java installed, the Java plugin is available. Releases current Firefox are a 32-bit browser, and you need to install the 32-bit version of Java.
    Make sure that the plugin scanning is not disabled

    Mozilla browsers use the plugin scan to locate the plugins installed, so you must ensure that the preference of plugin.scan.plid.all has not been disabled:

       In the Location bar, type about:config and press Enter.
           The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page may appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise! to continue to the about:config page.
       Search for the preference plugin.scan.plid.all
       If it's been set to false, right-click on it and select "Reset".

    Uninstall if installed JavaFX

    In some cases, after upgrading from a version earlier than Java Java 7 Update 10 or higher, the plugin java (TM) Platform is no more detected. This can be caused by a conflict with Java and a stand-alone JavaFX installation that prevents the Java plugin to be properly registered. To solve the problem, uninstall JavaFX. For more information, see the java.com help page.
    Other solutions

    If Java is installed and enabled (see above) but does not work properly, try the following:
    Remove outdated Java plugin files

    Ensure that multiple versions of the java plugin (TM) Platform are not detected. For example, if 51 Java 7 update is installed, the java plugin (TM) Platform in the tab of the Add-ons Manager should be among the Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U51. If you see other versions of "Java (TM) Platform" listed, uninstall the older versions (see how can I uninstall Java on my Windows computer?) or otherwise remove manually (see manually uninstalling a plugin).
    Check for other software that may block Java

    Even if Java is installed and enabled in Firefox, it may be blocked by other software or Firefox Add-ons, for example:

       The ZoneAlarm Pro software firewall can block Java. For more information on enabling Java through this program, see the ZoneAlarm Pro forum.

       The NoScript extension for Firefox will block Java. For more information, see the NoScript FAQ.

    Suggestions to reinstall Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U45 10.45.2.18 to Add on my list? Can I make a copy of it on my laptop and install it on my desktop? Where is this file - I can't find it?

  • Why full bloated Java just to a small Firefox plugin?

    Re:
    http://www.Java.com/en/download/FAQ/firefox_newplugin.XML

    simple installation of the firefox 1.6 java plugin fails.

    you get a working version of this tiny plugin as a "reward".
    Once you have installed a version full of Java. but that adds up to more
    70 MB of unknown data required and background running
    services.

    Blackberry converter site is the only one I've used for this
    in any case to key sign my apps.

    is there still some efforts to get the plugin works without c * p?

    It is not serious, that the machine which had Firefox 3.6 should be updated.

    If you try to use a site that requires java, you need Java installed. This isn't the fault of Firefox, it's the fault of the site develop. I don't know what you're asking here.
