  • Java Web Start application runs under jre8u40 but not jre8u51

    We have a Java web application that uses javaws. It runs very well under the update of Java 8 40, but under the update Java 8 51 jp2launcher.exe stops right, without launching the application.

    • I found the papers in C:\Users\me\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\log, but they are identical between j8u40 and j8u51 (except of course for the order of pots are loaded, the version of jre and the start time).
    • I connected the launch using Process Monitor for the two versions of jre. Under j8u51, jp2launcher.exe ends with just the result of 'SUCCESS' Comparing the two newspapers procmon, I can't choose anything unusual. They have both search in the directory C:\Users\me\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment and their respective C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_XX\lib directories and others like, but then the j8u51 there is only.
    • The Windows event logs show any what that touch of Java.
    • I managed to run the jnlp whose value "JAVAWS_VM_ARGS = - Xcheck:jni - XX: - TraceClassLoadingPreorder - XX: + PrintCommandLineFlags-verbose: jni-verbose: class - verbose: gc - XX: + PrintGCDetails-Djava.util.logging.config.file=C:\misc\logging.properties" and connect the stdout/stderr. It looks like an end to newspapers javaws and jp2launcher for versions of the output, then both jre8u40 and jre8u51. Probably in the j8u40 version it launches another jp2launcher.exe to run the application.
      • Comparing newspapers two output gives nothing interesting. Classes are loaded in almost the same order, for the most part identical classes other than the few differences that are explained easily by just be more up-to-date used classes.
    • Finally, I was able to launch the application directly, using java.exe, by getting the customer their unpacking and installing the server files. The application itself works fine in jre8u51, so the problem is definitely javaws himself.

    I find very little documentation on the inner workings of Java Web Start and no documentation at all on jp2launcher.exe. Can anyone suggest what could go wrong here, or other diagnostic measures I can take?

  • A mixed Java/native Android application for BB 10 porting

    I don't see the following options for the application to BB 10 of port:

    1 convert the application as uses port BB tools - this means that the application does not have the appearance of BB applications.

    2 rewrite the code in C++ Java: it's a lot of work.

    Welcome on the support forums.

    If you want to repackage the app that c++ lib won't work, so maybe that influences your decision.

  • Instrumentation of Java - Applications successful Capture

    Hello

    Question 1

    I need help to identify why some requests are not captured by the Instrumentation of Java and a work around for the same thing.

    I recently instrumented WebSphere application servers for a new Application. However, I am unable to see all the queries being captured in Java monitor - Custom - Applications

    Here is the part of the file recording.config under Agent--> JavaEE properties. I guess "/ ^(GET|)". POST | REMOVE | HEAD | OPTIONS | PUT | "TRACK) /: false, ' prevents any random request to be captured.

    I don't want to not configured these seizures for existing application servers, but when I am configuring new servers to applications, which should be the approach to take to ensure all critical applications are captured. At least until I fine tune this list. What can I assosciate the FilteringRules with a set of specific initially application servers?

    FilteringRules = {}

    /\. (gif |) GIF | GIF) $/: false,

    /\. (jpg: jpeg |) JPG | JPEG | Jpg | JPEG) $/: false,

    /\. (png |) PNG | PNG) $/: false,

    /\. (css |) CSS | CSS) $/: false,

    /\. (js |) JS | Js) $/: false,

    /\. (ico |) ICO | ICO) $/: false,

    /^(GET|_\/Account_POST) instruction$ /: true,

    /^(GET|_\/MegaCor\/ServiceServlet$/_POST): true,

    /^(GET|) POST | REMOVE | HEAD | OPTIONS | PUT | TRACK) /: false,

    /: /: false,

    };

    Can someone explain in simple terms the changes and configurations that affect the capture of Java applications? All the latter found in recording.config or should I concentrate on other files too?

    FMS 5.6.4.2

    Java - 5.8.2 cartridge

    Question 2 : update of Java Agent

    We also have 5.7.1 agents on some application servers. In order to upgrade these agents, it's a simple matter to deploy the last cartridge on those servers and restart Application servers? I already copied the config files in the folder of JavaEE-compatibility under properties of the Agent. No custom configuration file have been deployed for these applications servers.

    Hello

    For question 1: are you not see all the requests at all? The default filter settings are to capture HTTP/S and RMI/MDB called, in your case, it seems that someone excludes all GET/POST with the exception of 2 types of request (account statement and service servlet)

    /^(GET|_\/Account_POST) instruction$ /: true,

    /^(GET|_\/MegaCor\/ServiceServlet$/_POST): true,

    /^(GET|) POST | REMOVE | HEAD | OPTIONS | PUT | TRACK) /: false,

    This could be due to the fact that too many requests was visible.

    If you want to see other request types, you can add them to the list with a real flag or, in the meantime, you can just activate all get/post requests (set a filter just to get/post with true) and then decide what you want to add sepcifically.

    Save the configuration file is the place to look, then you are in the right place.

    For question 2: you look at the upgrade guide, he could change in some configurations require you to change some settings in the config file. When you upgrade to level the server the old configuration files are saved and former agents use the old config file, when you perform the upgrade on the client machines, you must make sure that the JavaEEDeplyomnetManager agent is running because it supports the upgrade. When you deploy the package to the new server of the JavaEEdeplyomentmanager agent retains the reference to the latest version. You will see in your deirectory of JavaEE, but agent differnet versions manager JavaEEdeplyoment retains the reference to the current so when you restart your JVM will the script to integrate it to the latest version. If you hard the "bootstrap" jar, and the jar in your startup script javaagent you must re manual integration and make sure that you reference the new jar file of xbootstrap as well as the new javaagent jar file.

    I hope this helps.

  • Gzip request to the web application server Java

    Hi experts,

    My first post here.

    I am building a Java for Blackberry application that needs to send data relatively large (in the hundreds of kb/s) on a web server.

    Since the mobile internet connection is not fast enough transfer a lot of data will take a lot of time.

    Question is, how can I compress data with gzip and handle it on my web server.

    Currently, I have

    String data = "a=b&c=d";
    OutputStream outputStream = httpConnection.openOutputStream();
    outputStream.write(data.getBytes());
    outputStream.flush();

    I'm guessing that blindly that I need to do something like

    GZIPOutputStream gzipOutputStream = (GZIPOutputStream) httpConnection.openOutputStream();
    gzipOutputStream.write(data.getBytes());
    gzipOutputStream.flush();

    Is this correct? Moreover, how should I handle it on my Web server?

    Would my server Web decompress this data automatically, so I can just get the values of the parameters a and c normally?

    Can I send different Content-Type?

    Please notify. Thanks in advance.

    As shown rcmaniac25, you must wrap the output stream you get from the connection inside a GZIPOutputStream new object. For any compression, however, you must also specify the compression level.

    As to whether the data will be decompressed on the side server depends on the server. At a minimum, you must set the content-encoding property for the connection before the display of the data. I highly recommend adjustment of the length of the content; to do this, write the data compressed in a buffer of bytes. I also suggest setting a user-agent header, because some servers incorrectly claims that come without one. Finally, I suggest you add a header x-rim-transcode-content with the value 'none' from the data is not intended for a browser. (The server must also affect this header in the response.) This is particularly important if through MDS or BIS.

    Put them all together, it might look like this:

    String data = "a=b&c=d";NoCopyByteArrayOutputStream bos = new NoCopyByteArrayOutputStream();GZIPOutputStream gos = new GZIPOutputStream(bos, GZIPOutputStream.COMPRESSION_BEST);gos.write(data.getBytes());gos.close();int len = bos.size();// unqualified constants below are available if your class// implements net.rim.device.api.io.http.HttpProtocolConstantshttpConnection.setRequestMethod(HTTP_METHOD_POST);httpConnection.setRequestProperty(HEADER_USER_AGENT, "MyUserAgent");httpConnection.setRequestProperty("x-rim-transcode-content", "none");httpConnection.setRequestProperty(HEADER_CONTENT_TYPE,    CONTENT_TYPE_APPLICATION_X_WWW_FORM_URLENCODED);httpConnection.setRequestProperty(HEADER_CONTENT_ENCODING, "gzip");httpConnection.setRequestProperty(HEADER_CONTENT_LENGTH,    Integer.toString(len));OutputStream os = httpConnection.openOutputStream();os.write(bos.getByteArray(), 0, len);os.close();

    If you post something in addition to the url-encoded name-value pairs, of course, you must use the appropriate content-type header value.

    I think (although I've never tried) that Apache will honour the content-encoding header on poles, condition mod_gzip is turned on (which it usually is). Most of the other web servers (Microsoft IIS, Sun Java Web Server, Nginx, etc) also support HTTP compression.

    I suggest you to test this with a simple script that simply takes your POST data. If it resonates as expected, you're good to go (but see below).

    If the server does not automatically unzip the application, then you will manage all script processed the MESSAGE. PHP, Perl, Ruby, etc. all are excellent tools to treat the gzip data. You'll just have to deal with parsing the url-encoded name-value pairs explicitly. But there are great tools in all these languages for that, too.

    Be aware that there may be limits to the amount of data that you can POST in a single application. You may need to consider dropping your messages in blocks of manageable data.
