Java plugin 1.7.0_45 bad detection as 1.7.0_17

I installed the java package (JRE) 1.7.0_45, downloaded from java.com, at http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=81810
Md5sum:
7fa0cf09846e96b367526c95f33bb278 jre-7u45-linux - i586.tar.gz

I activated the symbolic plugin thelibnpjp2.so file in the directory usr
Firefox (topic: plugins) said I have java plugin 1.7.0_17 (vulnerable) and I need to update it. Tools-> modules-> Plugins said the same thing.

If I check my version of java using http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
It is said: "Congratulations!" You have the recommended Java installed (Version 7 update 45). »

I'm puzzled. Can you help me?

I'm not familiar with your platform, but on Windows... Firefox maintains a file of data of plugins installed. This file may be damaged. If you rename or delete, Firefox will redetect your plugins and regenerate.

Open your current Firefox settings (AKA Firefox profile) folder using

Help > troubleshooting information > the button 'Open Directory '.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename pluginreg.dat to something like pluginreg.old

Restart Firefox. Does everything: plugins show the newer version?

If not, check the path shown on the topic: plugins page and see if there is some kind of conflict or duplication in your symbolic links or physical files.

  • Problem check Java plugin and mozilla.

    Hello
I encountered some problems with the java plugin (SE 7.0.90.5 10.9.2.5) and mozilla plugin check site. I always check that if my plugins are up-to-date, so today I did this audit controls and plugin told me, that the java plugin was "outdated". But, it turns out, there is no new version of the java plugin. OK, maybe glitch or something like that, so I reintall plugin-plugin check shows always the same message - "obsolete". I introduced in safe mode in Firefox, tried to delete the file pluginreg.dat profile directory, even reinstalled Firefox itself. Nothing helps.
Maybe someone could help me with this one. It would be good to know what caused this error.

    P.S. I use Firefox on Windows 7 64 bit 17.0.1.
    Plugins I'm currently using:

    • The Java SE 7.0.90.5 platform 10.9.2.5
    • Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502
    • Player VLC media Plugin Web 2.0.2

  • Misleading error about Java plugin

    I use Firefox on Windows 7 64 bit 15.0.1
I have Java plugin version SE7 U7, I reinstalled and confirmed is underway. However, when the plugin Java (Java (TM) Platform SE 7 U7 10.7.2.11) is disabled, then I get the message when checking my plugins, "for your safety, Firefox has disabled your outdated Java version. Please install the latest version. When I re - activate this plugin, the error message is not present. Thus, it is misleading because the correct version is installed but disabled.

    Oh, I get it now.

Plugincheck page acknowledges that Java is missing and that it "assumes" that Java is missing because Firefox disabled. It is a bad supported by plugincheck page, but this page is not to know that you have the version currently installed, so is just doing his best (wrong) guess of special privileges. Unfortunately, I don't think that there is no solution for this.

  • Java plugin does not load on Firefox

I'm working on a machine without administrator rights. Firefox fails to load Java plugin even thought it is installed. Summer search internet and found this and this.
I checked the users on this machine really has only read access to HKLM\Software\mozilla.org. Is this the problem why does not load plugin? He said that this should be fixed in new versions of Java and FF.

    I use Firefox 11.0, Java 6 Update 13, Windows 7 Enterprise.

OK, I read about this problem on the mozillazine kb now...

You can try the following: go to start run & open %appdata%\Mozilla\, create a folder named plugins (where it does not exist). then you need to go to the directory of the java program and the subfolder bin (probably C:\Program Files\Java\j2re < version > \bin\) and copy all the .dll files that begin with np*.dll and paste them into the plugins folder you created before. This must be repeated for each user on the machine.

in the case where firefox then detects the plugin, I would recommend you keep the disabled plugin and activated only upon request (or use an extension like noscript to create a white list of trusted sites that can use the plugin). I have seen many infections than to exploit vulnerabilities in older versions of java, also on accounts with limited user rights...

  • Updated Java Plugin 8 45 (click-to-play), Linux has been blocked for your protection.

  • Developer Edition does not have the Java Plugin

    My configuration:
    OS - Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
    Browser - Firefox Developer Edition
    Java - SE Runtime Environment build 1.8.0_51 - b16

    Installation path:
    Browser - C:\Program Files\Firefox Developer Edition
    Java - C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_51

    Description of the problem:
My operating system, browser, and Java version are all of the nature of 64-bit and properly installed, however, Firefox does not have a Java plugin in the Add-ons Manager and I can't run Java on all Web sites. When I check Java on their website, it tells me that Java is disabled or not installed, but Java is enabled in the Java Control Panel.

Hi mrflom, that's to be expected - the 64-bit versions are delivered with support plugin limited for the moment (single flash is in the whitelist). If you rely on the other npapi plugins please continue to regularly use 32-bit builds.

  • Failed to install Java plugin after a clean install of Java7 or java8

    Hello
recently, I saw my plugin Java was vulnerable and outdated so I uninstalled the old completely and downloaded the latest 8u45 of Java.
Now, after the installation, I don't see any mention to the new Java plugin on the plugins screen in Firefox. In java Control Panel the ability to "enable Java content on my browser" was already checked, but still Java not enabled on my browser anything.
I even tried to install the package SDK or earlier version like Java 7u80 the two gave the same result.

Here's my proposal: you have installed the 64-bit Java, but not 32-bit. Since Firefox is a 32-bit application, to get the dll works with all applications, you also need to install JRE 32 bit. See:

  • is there a way to tell firefox allow and remember the java plugin for all users via the command line or a script?

    Hello

I have about 200 computers I want to push the next to parameter

allow and remember the java plugin for firefox for all users

is it possible to do this via a script or configuration file?

You must create two files in the Firefox program folder.

    • local - settings.js file in the defaults\pref folder where you will find the channel - prefs.js
    • mozilla.cfg in the main folder of the Firefox program
  • How whitelist trusted sites for Java plugin?

I'm deploying Firefox 30 to about 2500 machines. We have an internal site that requires the Java plugin and is widely used throughout the organization. How can I (via preferences or other devices) set the Java plugin to always activate for that one internal site?

    I had no time to understand anything so granular. I was just setting the Java to always activate plugin by adding our existing mozilla.cfg file pref ("plugin.state.java", 2);

  • Firefox does not accept java plugin

I need to get firefox to accept a java plugin to print on my dymo labeller in Amazon seller "scan and label.

Amazon support told me to download java 7 which I did and it doesn't, then told me to go in java under the tab 'Advanced' settings and activate "Mozilla family" to "Java for browsers by default" whenever I try to do this adjustment will not save and I think that the firefox browser is shut down.

Support of Amazon also said that after doing that, I should be able to go to add-ins for firefox and I go under plugins and I can't.

I think that firefox is blocking it. Is it possible to unlock it?

Using64 bit OS, windows 7 and and the latest firefox 30.0

I had the same problem. Fortunately, I found that the 32-bit version of Java still works in Firefox (64 - bit does not). So here's my solution:

    1. uninstall your Java Runtime Environment course.
    2. for JRE 7 go to http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp and click "Windows Offline (32 bit). Download and install "jre-7u60-windows - i586.exe".
2B. for JRE 8 go to http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre8-downloads-2133155.html and click on "Windows x 86 offline. Download and install "jre-8u5-windows - i586.exe".

  • I've just updated Java plugin but it shows that it must be updated

I've just updated Java (TM) Devils SE 7 U5 10.5.1.255, but it still says that it needs to be updated. Please help me solve this issue. Thank you

    Hello

Please make sure that when you ask to be updated is a legitimate detector.

To protect against potential vulnerabilities in Java, Firefox now asking you to activate Java by default for every site you visit that uses Java. When you see a message 'Enable Java' box, simply click on it to load Java content normally.

If there is no visible area to activate Java content on the page, click the plugin icon in the address bar. In the message panel that opens, choose "Allow now" to activate the Java content temporarily.

The next time you visit the site or any other that uses Java you will see this message again. If you still want to enable Java for a particular site, you can use the option 'Allow and Remember' above.

For more information on the use of Java in Firefox, see the articles How to enable Java on trusted sites and use the Java plugin to display interactive Web sites content.

Important: After the activation of Java, you can see a line of security, asking you to confirm that you want to run Java, or you may see a message "Blocked Application", according to the Web site and your security settings in the Java Control Panel. These messages are coming from Java itself, not from Firefox.

For help with Java security guests and messages "Blocked Application", see the Java help pages what should I do when I see a security invites since Java? and Why Java applications are blocked by your security with the latest Java settings?

Does this solve your problem? Let us know.

  • Firefox 14.01: Java Plugin appear on behalf of administrator only, not for user accounts - how to fix?

I wasn't using the java plugin for a long time.

At some point in the past, the plugin java (that I had turned off for years) is COMPLETELY DISAPPEARED from the list of plugins and addons Manager list NORMAL user accounts.

It is ALWAYS AVAILABLE on the ADMIN account, but is seriously not intended to be run from there.

Sysinternals sysmon, is to observe that the java runtime registry entries are located since firefox running in user mode. The java runtime (not the absolute last version, but enough to day 1.7.0_01) is correctly installed and running (for any local application of the IDE).

    The questions:
-How can I fix this situation?
-How Firefox does not recognize the java runtime (in detail)?
-How can I avoid this problem for future updates?

    Additional info:

Protocol of activities of firefox in admin mode to access the java plug-in:
    http://harryboeck.dyndns.org/Verschiedenes/Firefox-Java-troubleshooting-superusermode.PNG

Protocol of activities of firefox in user mode access the java plug-in:
    http://harryboeck.dyndns.org/Verschiedenes/Firefox-Java-troubleshooting-usermode.PNG

Notice the difference: in administrator mode, after accessing HKLM/.../JRE, it goes directly to open 'npdeployJava1.dll '. In user mode, it makes mystical headstands in vain to access some mime base, but does not even touch the dll at all. Should this have any meaning?

You must first update the Java plugin. Older versions have been blocked since Firefox due to a serious security problem, so update should help. Let me know if you still have problems (make sure that you uninstall any previous version)

  • Hi, I have the latest update of Fire Fox which is 10.0.2. I can't get the Java plugin to download for Firefox.

I am wanting to get Java working on Firefox, if I can use the cat and other programs that use Java, and no, it's not Javascript I'm talking. Whenever I go on a site that uses Java it tells me that I need to download the Java plugin. When I click on the link, it starts to download the Java plugin, but instead of installing the plugin it installs Java for Internet Explorer instead.

    Ken

Try to uninstall and reinstall Java.
