  I try to join a CBS c. 5.3 to the domain.  My acs in A location, I can join without problem using my account. When I try to join the ACS in location B to the same domain with the same account, it does not work.

  I looked for the ad client debugging logs and noticed that the ACS in location B goes to some a domain controller. However, I would have expected the ACS to contact a different DC, located on the same site that GBA... This does not happen.

  My question: how to determine what contact DC GBA? Is it possible to force HQ to reach by connecting a certain DC?

  Please check your sites and services in your DNS configuration to see if the right domain controllers are sent to the ACS when attempting to connect to the domain. This function is essential and allows to optimize the links that GBA chooses to join the domain.

  The way this works is that ACS is trying to resolve dns records for the global catalog servers and domain controllers for the dns server configured in the initial installation script. Then the dns makes a decision based on the source ip address of the dns request and think that the ACS is in a specific site and returns the result which domain controllers and global catalogs is configured in this specific site.

  I just reinstalled windows xp on my old HP desktop HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7334n PC computer using the recovery on D partition. I expect that the installation would be a clean install. At the beginning of the recovery, I noticed the message on the screen saying that the backup was in process. After recovery, I could start my computer and realized that used disk space C was still as the space of C drive used before the restoration. I also noticed that there was a lot of pre-installed programs appears on the list of start - all programs. I never installed them after recovery. Many of them work. I expect a CLEAN installation. It is not clean at all.

  Furthur inspection on the system to reveal problems:

  1. I noticed that there are so many records under the program folder program files on the C drive (I have only one program fichiersDossier). I guess that the recovery process copied evething under my original forder of program files in this folder. I don't have anything I can use most of them because the links were scattered on a large number of them (I can't run the program of either start - all programs or folder directly). Is not at all a CLEAN installation.

  2. the recovery process also copy my document in the folder as well original user, see below to understand which is the original file of the user.

  3. originally, in my computer, I have two users (or 3 including comments), we came to HP-administrator with the computer, is another family.  On the computer I just recover, there are 3 users accompanying the recovery. They are administrator, hp-administrator and guest. I've renamed the family administrator. Now, under systems and settings, I see the user plus two records. They are administrator-YOUR-4DACD0EA75 and hp-administrator-YOUR-4DACD0EA75. YOUR 4DACD0EA75 sounds familiar. I can remember that I was lazy and that it has not changed the computer name during installation after recovery. YOUR 4DACD0EA75 is actually the default name given to me during the installation. I don't like this at all, so I changed the name of the computer and restarted the computer. The name of the computer was changed after the restartup, but ugly folder names remain the same and I can not even rename the ugly file name.

  I had done some restorations system on this computer before, I never noticed a problem like this before.

  1 have we seen this before?

  3. can I safely delete the original user profiles and records under the program folder program files?

  I'm not aware of any way to score internal as users with passwords as enver expire. This is done for admins ensure there is always an admin who can access the system

  In order to change the multiple/all documents for internal users, the following approach can be taken:

  1. Go to the list of internal users and press "Export" then 'Start export' and 'Save file' export user records to a csv file
  2. Edit the file. In the title 'active' column replace 'FALSE' to 'TRUE' for all records. Save the updated file
  3. To the page that lists internal users, tap "File Options", select "Update", and then click next to access the section "Import a file" Wizard. Select the file saved in step 2) and tap on finish

  Afetr imort is completed, all records of internal user should now display "Enabled".

  I came across a problem that should be an easy fix (I hope), but I'm having a hard time to come up with a solution.

  Basically I have two tables, one with the actual amounts with the budget. I have to write a sql statement select that joins these tables together and includes all of their lines. I was able to join the tables by using JOIN, LEFT JOIN and RIGHT JOIN, but it always fails the lines I need.

  Below, I have examples of my tables (AMOUNT_TABLE and BUDGET_TABLE). For simplicity, I built the examples to show the same values in the first four columns, with the 5th and 6th columns (SUB_ACCOUNT, AMOUNT, BUDGET) as the only values that are different. My actual tables are not quite that simple, but I don't think it was relavent to this issue.

  It is not the problem with my SQL (that I know of). It gives a correct output that I need when I simply run the SQL query.
  I just give a few examples of data (no real data).

  Please be careful, that my comment about to_char was that under the assumption that you have a column for the number. If the column is VARCHAR2, do not add an extra TO_CHAR around this column. He could not give problems, but is not necessary (I think it can give problems in 9i, but impossible to find a small example yet).

  An idea to find the source of your problem would be to change the NOT IN subquery. At least in a NOT EXISTS a subquery. Or even better find a way to access the remote tables only once instead of twice.

  I played with workstation 10 for about a day now.

  I'm pretty green when it comes to the DNS configuration. The reason for it, for the experience.

  I created a Virtual Server R2 of 2012 and a VM 7 Win machine. I'm trying to join the VM 7 Win the field laboratory.
  I've already promoted the server to be a domain controller.

  The error I get is:

  An attempt to resolve the DNS of a domain controller in the domain being joined has failed. Please check that this client is set to reach a DNS server that can resolve DNS names in the target domain.

  Not sure what is the cause.

  In the IPV4 properties, I changed the DNS server to use the IP address of the domain controller that I read but still no luck.

  Also how can I set up the network for the VM?

  Come on come on client machine Winodows 7 > network and sharing Center > adapter set it > right click Local area connection and click Properties

  Double-click PTC/IPv4

  In the preferred DNS server, type the IP Address of the domain controller and see if that helps the problem.

  Also check if the firewall is blocking communication. Disable the firewall and check.

  I can't with a query where I use a case statement to create a new column and attempt to reach an additional table on the resulting column.  I am fairly new to this and learn by trial and error, so if you think that it looks a little ugly or ineffective, I won't be offended.  It is used on my interface based on the web of companies, while I am not able to answer some basic questions such as the version of db.

  My need to use the case statement is the result of some strange methods and somewhat contradictory in order to link the product subcodes (sku, fcsku, fnsku), to a product code parent (ProdID).  In this case, the inventory is stored in the first table with one of the few types of premises SKUs, however the dimensional data only links to the ProdID.  I'm trying to instruction box allows to send the parent a second table (ProdID) code if the sku is there, or a third table if it is found on this table.  The main reason (in this case) I have to this ProdID is I can join the dimensional data of a fourth table.

  The error I receive:

  Statement 1 is invalid. ORA-00904: "ProdIDMaster": invalid identifier

  ProdIDMaster appears only in two places, an alias for the case statement, as well as a side of the join statement.  If I simply change the alias name, it has no effect, so I can only assume the question is how I refer to results of the case statement. I also tried to reach the word 'CASE', which returned "1 statement is not valid. "ORA-00904:"The MATTER": invalid identifier.

  Post edited by: 8ea4344e-80ea-44e7-b8ac-d482be7245a7 I made a mistake when I posted the code.  The ProdID_ID shown in the join should have been ProdIDMaster.  I need to change this due to the fact that the name of the column used (which is what I based my alias on) may have been considered confidential information. All the other columns names remained unchanged.

  The error I receive:

  Statement 1 is invalid. ORA-00904: "ProdIDMaster": invalid identifier

  ProdIDMaster appears only in two places, an alias for the case statement, as well as a side of the join statement.  If I simply change the alias name, it has no effect, so I can only assume the question is how I refer to results of the case statement. I also tried to reach the word 'CASE', which returned "1 statement is not valid. "ORA-00904:"The MATTER": invalid identifier.

  Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

  Whenever you have a problem, please post a small example data (CREATE TABLE and only relevant columns, INSERT statements) of all the tables involved, so that people who want to help you can recreate the problem and test their ideas.

  Also post the exact results you want from this data, as well as an explanation of how you get these results from these data, with specific examples.

  Always say what version of Oracle you are using (for example, 11.2.0.2.0).  Use "SELECT * VERSION of $ v;" to get it.

  When you define an alias for column (such as PriodIDMaster) in the SELECT a query clause, you can use the alias in the ORDER byclause in this request, but this is the only place in this same query, where you can use it.  If you want to use anywhere, like in a join condition, then calculate the new column in a subquery; then you can use it anywhere you want in a Super request.

  I see expression BOX (not the same as a declarationBOX) where when ProdIDMaster is defined, but I do not see where it is used.  Are you sure that you posted the code that is causing the problem?
