Join the domain and keep the Local profile

Research on the Internet for the solution and find no official response from Microsoft.

Have updated the registry settings in "ProfileList" and updated the permissions on the folder of network user profile - now station immediately disconnects.

This seems to be a feature of Essentials connect Assistant, but we need this in the standard.

How to connect Windows 7 computer professional currently as part of a task force to the area and keep the local profile?

Please provide step by step procedure.

Thank you.

  • Cannot copy the local profile to new account

I created a new field of W2008 to replace the old W2K domain. I joined the workstation to the new domain.  I've logged on to the new domain with the same local user name.  I'm unable to copy the local profile to the W2K user profile to their new local profile W2008.

When I consult the list of profiles on the computer, the profile of which I want to copy is listed as "account unknown" and grayed.  I don't have the option "copy in."

  • How can I fix to "corrupt the local profile" on my computer

    Original title: user environment

Switching on my laptop I get message... corrupt local profile... cannot find the local profile... used temp.profile and all changes when closing down will be lost.

Then if I try to download say Barclays and then save it in the Favorites folder, then disappears from the Favorites when that I log out, then I'll have to find when opening upward once again!  How can I get rid of this bug?  I tried to return to an earlier date, but laptop does not accept this.

This is a typical symptom of a corrupt user profile.  It happens from time to time.  When Windows detects a damaged at the time of the logon user profile, he tends to switch to a temporary user profile that has all the privileges of the user of origin, but otherwise, it looks like you connected for the first time as a new user.  Note that this is a * temporary * profile.  All the files that you save on the desktop or in the "My Documents" folder will not survive a logoff.  It is not too difficult to recover from. Tip: If you use "System Restore" restore to an earlier date, start mode (repeatedly tap the F8 key at startup key) safe and run the system, safe mode restore.  Choose one of the following articles:

"How to recover damaged Windows XP user profile"

"Windows XP problems if your profile is corrupted"

Corruption of user profiles is almost always accompanied, if not caused, the Corruption of system files.  So after recovery, it's a good idea to perform a check disk (chkdsk) complete with the "/ R" or "repair/recover' option.  Note that the audit will take place at the next restart before Windows load fully, can take more than a few hours and can not be interrupted.  Sometimes the drive verification procedure can fix this problem with no further action necessary.

  • Failed to load the local profile. IO error. All files in My Documents have disappeared. How to restore

did a normal turn on the computer.  Message came back failed to load the local profile.  IO error.  When he signed me, all my documents in My Documents had disappeared.

A corrupt profile is fairly easy to recover with minimal losses.  Refer to the following procedure:

"How to recover damaged Windows XP user profile"

Corrupt profiles are almost always accompanied by hard drive corruption.  After recovery, scan your hard disk for errors using chkdsk with the /f or/r option

"How to perform disk error in Windows XP check"

The disk check procedure can take hours depending on the size of your hard drive and the amount of corruption and cannot be interrupted, then run it when you won't need your computer for awhile.

  • Someone put to the top of my laptop with vista and the local profile, user, admin isn't me how can I fix it?

I would also like to know how change the user local profile so that my name is displayed as I keep saying that I don't have administrator privileges for my own laptop

    Hello

    ·         Your computer is on the field?

    ·         You are logged as administrator?

I would be creating a new profile user such as your name and transfer the data from the old user profile and delete the profile follow the steps mentioned below:

    Step 1:

Create new user account follow the steps in the link:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/create-a-user-account

    Step 2:

After above step, follow the steps in the link to transfer data from the old profile to new profile:

  • Is it possible to remove my laptop from a domain and keep my desktop, documents, settings, etc.

I want to delete my phone of the domain that I currently part of and make it a stand alone PC. I want to keep my desktop, documents, settings, etc.  Once I'm off the field, will it be possible to connect with the same username (now local only) and do not have to set up my account from scratch again? I know that my files them is not stored on a server and local on my laptop.

    Thank you.

Once you remove the computer from the domain, the user profile that you use will not be available. However, you should be able to copy the majority of all the menus of programs, documents and other files, etc. to a new log-in.

    Copy a user profile (TechNet)

Let's say that you used to connect to MyDomain , using Christan as username. If you want to map network drives to the field to your laptop while under a local log-in (can be anything, even Christan) you should be able to as long provide you credentials for the domain user.

    User: \\MyDomain\Christan

    Password:

According to the security of the domain, you may need to provide these credentials for things like the network printers, etc. as well.

  • I can't ping or join the local network internal

I can't reach or ping my network when I connect via VPN. The connection works fine, everything must be connected to the ASA and users is accepted through RADIUS

    Jørgen,

I recommend you to use different network RA pool to be separated from your inside of the network number, this strategy troubleshooting efforts ease down the road that say to questions of troutbleshooting of the Interior can still function 192.168.0.0/24 and RA POOL 192.168.0.0/24, however, using the same network.

I corrected a few things in your config file.

You have allocated dhcpd for inside the host from 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.129

and your pool of vpn RA is set from 192.168.0.60 - 192.168.0.75, your RA pool allocation must be 192.168.0.130 - 192.168.0.145 to have a few consistentcy.

You must also add to your config "crypto isakmp nat-traversal" and customer RA try again

If all above is not the thing, keep in your config nat-traversal crypto isakmp and re - create new network for your POOL of RA.

    Here's the easy script

    remove network RA POOL

    no local pool VPN_IMH 192.168.0.60 - 255.255.255.0 ip 192.168.0.75 mask

create a new network POOL guess (172.16.1.0)

    local pool VPN_IMH 172.16.1.60 - 172.16.1.75 255.255.255.0 IP mask

for your exempt nat acl add the following statement

    permit access ip 192.168.0.0 scope list inside_nat0_outbound 255.255.255.0 172.16.1.0 255.255.255.0

    remove this rule

no access list inside_nat0_outbound extended permits all ip 192.168.0.0 255.255.255.0

First try a System Restore and see if that helps your situation.  If you get to windows to do a system restore when you start start pressing F8 until you get the Windows startup options.  Then try "Last known good configuration" see if that helps and let us know.

  • Windows 7 crashes my profile, leaving me with the "default" profile. Even if I wipe my laptop and re-install.

    Hello

First: I have two identical laptops purchased from Dell with the same hardware configuration - both delivered with Vista. I upgraded to W7 as soon as possible, and since then, one of the laptops does not load my profile several times.

I use to work as a system administrator, so of course, at the beginning, I didn't much attention to the mistake thinking it was just an incident. I formatted the computer, reinstall W7 and, of course, the error occurred again - constantly even if I wiped it and re-install.

What is happening is that the computer starts, I connect Windows crashes for the moment very loong and then all of a sudden he says "preparing your desktop". When that happens I know its load under the 'default user profile', it's 'welcome '.

This error occurs about two to three times in about 7 days. But not all the time - it's like periods. I usually get through this by organizing the closure for 4 seconds, restart, and then, if I'm lucky, gets through my office.

A few times that I had no chance - restart of 6 times in a row without luck somehow shows that the profile files are really damaged, and then I created a new migration profile all my old files. This process takes time - not simply copy my files but also the settings of my program.

Last week, I deleted my user just to create a new one-8 it recharges without success.

I looked in eventvwr.msc and found that everything begins with six fouls in a row. I don't really know what do - the error log says error but it seems not very well describe it.

    It goes like:

    1 error:

Windows could not load the registry. This problem is often caused by insufficient security rights or insufficient memory.

DETAIL - the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

I don't know what it is. I can only say that reinstall W7 does not help. And lately, after creating the new profile, W7 began to start the default new desktop computer.

So my question is: can I fix? If its not repairable can at least save files like ntuser.dat to crush the ntuser.dat file damaged W7 start sleeping?

On the comp: 3 GB RAM, Core Duo2. The computer is used only for navigation on the internet, written for my studies and other reports not _ none of the weird stuff and no games at all.

    p

Software properly written (as opposed to malware, viruses, and poorly written stuff) has similarly on day 1 after installation on 30 days. So you can go ahead with your driver and software installation as fast as you want, as long as you create a new file image at strategic points and keep notes dates when you installed this component.

Given your experience, you will need to proceed cautiously with the automatic updates. First disable them, and then put the installation in Manual Mode so that you can install in small batches, again take notes.

If you use Acronis image to create images, then you will need only half of space compared to the native tool. And if divide you your drive and put your personal files on the D: drive then you will not lose them during a restoration of the image.

Be sure to keep your Windows Firewall active at all times and use a router. Make an Internet connection without a router (which is a hardware firewall) request in trouble. If you use a wireless network, make sure you use a WEP or WPA or MAC address screening encoding.

  • Join the Windows clients to a specific ORGANIZATIONAL unit

    Hello community,

Does anyone know if it is possible to join a virtual machine to a specific OU using customization of comments? Failure of any attempt to do so before I add a script for RunOnce commands, I was wondering if there is a way to do it through the interface of GC?

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Have you tried the following:

http://www.tech-tap.com/2011/10/01/vcloud-trick-joining-a-domain-and-specifying-a-machine-ou/ - should work across different products that have comments customization

    Hope this helps

  • Portable joined to the domain and now the user files are missing.

Our server (SBS 2003) crashed and I had to rebuild it and then I had to join a laptop in our area and now all the files for this person is missing.  We use the option synchronize folders when this person was missing and now I wonder where all these files are gone?

We had no backups (I know, I know) so now we have a couple of people who have lost all their data.  Is there a way to make it back the computer joined to the domain?  Some kind of folder offline connection or cache somewhere?  I checked the documents and Settings folder, but the user profiles 'My Documents' is empty.

  • Joined to a domain and an administrator remote after the installation of SP1, updated to 10 settings (clean install) then

Wipe the hard disk, reformatted and did a clean install of OS7 home (fossoyées pro hoping group domain policies and etc. would not be a problem).  But they are still there. Reinstalled again.  I can't remove the files manually, give me permission. Loading guard who looks like a fake update file, but I can't delete that either.  I'm at my wits end.  I also have a problem with one of my Outlook email accounts, displaying a string of what looks like a key under my user name.  I have dealt with this for 2 months.  had my machine to two different local mechanics and nothing.  Even exchanged the motherboard and the drive.  How's it relate?  I do not even use the same key.  The only way he could do it is through my network connection. (Disabled Wifi too).

I read something on the Panther Trojan and I do not have a file of Panther on my machine (which again, I can't delete).  I didn't even think that HOME version had this kind of remote administration and yet it moves it. Its load of 32-bit strange file and run it on a 64 bit system.  I don't know what to do from here.  I can't get a version of Windows installed which does not suck up all my processing power and crazy amounts of data transfer.  I pulled out an old HP Pav and am now loading XP on it.  At least I will be able to view and edit files it contains.  I don't think safe, even check my email on this machine. (I use my ipad for that).

Here are the results of the queries from the command line, screenshots and event log shears.   Since I was the last reinstall at about 21:00 there are 294 Logon and created special logons.  Not to mention that I had an another windows machine and one android corrupt their hooking up to my Dungeon phone.  The worst is a 10 years ' worth of my design files holding external drive.  Sighhhhhhh...

IM so sick of looking at this.  Im going to bed and hopefully not dreaming about it.  If someone can tell me how to stop this happening, I would SO appreciate it.  Support for Windows is a joke.

I have run 3 different programs of Virus Scan on it, reformat the drive twice (wiped to zero once), and used three different install media (three different versions of Windows. 0 s 7 home, pro and pro OS7 OS10 (7 pro is what I was running when this began).)  Again, it is after that I paid two services of different repair to diagnose, pull the wireless network card, replace the motherboard and replace the disk.  After that I freaked out on them they began to throw the installation discs and Home keys. lol seriously, I might as well throw my money down a hole. (the key I've finally pulled the machine isn't that I've never owned?) I guess that's why I'm trying so hard to get pure installed, I already so much money in it.  I should probably just give up and load Linux.

If I ever get my hands on this bloody trusted installer it is a dead man. Thanks in advance!

  • I am locked into a widows 2000 operating system after an inept tech tried it sever the domain and join it.

Technician tried to delete the computer account on the domain and join it. It works well with Windows XP and win7. Now it comes to the administrator login and does not allow me to use the admin password.  I need to enter this computer because it is an old autocad computer with lots of files which are still on the machine.

    Hi elena_ad,

Your question of Windows is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the public on the TechNet site. Please post your question in the below link:
