Journal of the iMac in question

Hi, I have a late 2012 27 "iMac. He has recently started to generate random passwords in the log at the stage. The only solution seems to be the power down and reset the PRAM. It's happening almost daily now. This doesn't seem to be affected by the defective hard drive model.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you very much.

    Hi all

We can add a button to the BP to approve Budget so that it can read all the charges in question cost journal line and auto fill on the grid.

Let's say I have a cost with 5 code cost journal

    Code 1 price

    2 cost code

    Code 3 cost

    Code 4 cost

    Code 5 cost

BP budget approval, after that I click on New, can I add a button to the tab the line items so that when I click on this button, it reads all codes of cost in the cost journal and auto fill on the grid?

You can create a new 'model' BP for this purpose. Line item type. Then add a line manually with a cost on each code. Then you can use the copy in your BP BA record consolidate the function to copy the line items to the new folder of BP (including all cost codes) into your folder of BA. That is to set up a model record once with all cost codes and then copy consolidate billing it to all lines new record of BA. would this work?

  • Can I replace the iMac 2013 with the iMac of retina of 2015?

I broke my iMac, I bought 3 weeks before the iMac that 4 K was released. Yesterday I have brung up to the Apple Store and fixed, but today, Apple told me to replace it. Here are the specs:

    iMac 21.5 "1080 p 2.9 GHz Quad Core, 8 GB RAM, 1 TB hard end of 2013

I intend to buy the iMac 21.5 "4K retina because it will be vintage on October 13, 2020.

I bought my iMac on September 26, 2015. If the Mac is vintage after being interrupted for 5 years, I live in California or in Turkey, can I repair my iMac to an Apple Store? I'm not sure the price of replacement of the iMac.

Cannot understand what your question is that if you ask if the Apple Store will be repaired an iMac, they will of course.

  • The iMac has a digital input?

    Hello

I searched for centuries for the answer to what I thought was a simple question - the iMac has one digital input (optical or other)?

I know that the headphone port doubles as an analog audio to as well as an optical digital output, but this port also accepts input optical? If not, is it possible to enter a digital signal via a USB port?

    I have an iMac (20-inch, mid 2007).

Thanks to all who can help.

Yes exit usb audio and are truly comprehensive external soundcards, they can have any type of entry and exit of the machine to be desired that they have

and if they do a driver of OS x for him it's just a matter of connection installing the driver and choosing the entry in system preferences for being that

  • Update the iMac 21.5 mid 2010 "with SSD

Hi - I am interested in upgrading my iMac 21.5 mid 2010 "with an internal SSD. Have been reading the posts on the subject and I wanted to clarify a few points. As I understand it, there is not a spare drive Bay, so my options are to replace the existing drive, or replace the optical drive.

    My questions are:

    (1) is there a difference in meaning in performance in both options?

    (2) the location of the optical drive is a stable position (physically) to put a SSD?

    (3) if it is placed in the location of the optical drive, I'll be able to boot from the SSD drive?

    (4) I read that if you replace the hard drive, there is also a problem with a heat sensor that fans end up running a full speed, and you must download a software workaround solution, or get a special thermal sensor OWC. This applies also to put it in the optical Bay? Why or why not, and if not, is the drive always properly cooled? Not sure I quite understand that part.

    Thanks for any help,

    David

I added an SSD for my iMac 2011. It has an extra SATA port, so I could leave the optical drive in place and put the SSD in behind it, while keeping the original HARD disk too.

I think that 2010 models do not have this port, but the other World Computing would be able to confirm this on their site based on the available kits.

    1. you won't see any difference in performance in both positions. Note, the 2010 iMac uses ports SATA 3 G, so if you use a 6G SSD, it will only run at 3G speeds. Willl you always get a huge performance on the old HDD even gain at this slower speed.

    2. Yes, to use the available kits

    3. Yes the installer once you define which drive you want to boot from in system preferences > startup

    4. I think it's only valid for 2011 models, but still OWC kits will show if you need the adaptor cable. It does not apply in the optical drive. Cooling still works correctly if you use the kits to correct or additional software.

Edit: just check out OWC, it seems that the thermal cable adapter is required for this model

Edit 2: If you have never worked on electronics, I strongly suggest that you do not open the iMac yourself. If it is not particularly difficult if you are experienced, it is very easy to break something if you do not have this experience.

  • How can I copy all the 18 000 pictures on my imac to an external hard drive to give to my daughter and also keep on the imac

How can I copy all the 18 000 pictures on my imac to an external hard drive to give to my daughter and keep them all on my imac

Your daughter have a Mac and use Photos? If so just copy your library of Photos to SMT, it must be formatted OS X Extended (journaled) with the defined property is ignored. Then she can use the SMT library or copy it on his Mac.

If she doesn't have a Mac do the following:

1 - Create a new folder on the external drive.

2 - Select all photos in the library (in the window of Photos).

    3. Select the file ➙ ➙ export export Original unmodified for XXXXX items menu option.

    4. in the format of subfolder select Export window = name of the time

    5. in the next window, select the folder that you created on the external drive as the destination of export and export all your photos to this. Photos at every moment in your photo library will be put in a folder with the date of that moment and this issue will be put on the EHD in the folder that you created.

  • My 1st generation iPod touch can not save on my iMac El Capitan but can to my MacBook Snow Leopard ' 08. Why the iMac think that the backup is corrupt?

Of course, I'm using my iMac El Capitan, but when I bought the music today and went to add to my iPod touch iTunes ended up freezing. Long story short, I could delete the files from the iPod but can not add one; Adding a single song led to suspended iTunes and the cancellation of the synchronization via the iPod of course makes no difference.

After going through all the rigamarole any attempt to delete all backups for iPod, both through preferences and in/Library/Application Support / MobileSync / Backup, I always had the same problem. I can't add music on my iPod via the iMac, nor can I save it there. Yes, I rebooted.

And so, after many tears, I pulled out my MacBook ' 08, who narrowly missed the cut for El Capitan and so still has Snow Leopard. And now my iPod backed up very well! (I cursed myself for not to copy previous backup before it was replaced, but hey.) They are all under the same Apple ID, so at this point, I'm simply redownloading all of my new purchases on the ol' MacBook ' so I can add it to the iPod... but how long this will be a viable solution? (I realize using products Apple since 2008 is an affront, but you've got to do what you do I do, and I don't currently have pocket for 32 GB change.)

So the question. Is there an incompatibility of software between my 1st generation iPod touch (3.1.3) and my iMac (El Capitan with iTunes 12.3.2.35 10.11.3)? Is there really a degree of corruption here than Snow Leopard with iTunes 10.6.8 11.4 (18) does not recognize?

TL; Dr: I can do my iPod touch backup of my iMac?

(My apologies for what is the format, I still haven't managed to brevity, and these a few hours researching in it made me frustrated).

Edit: I forgot to mention that I tried to copy on the backup freshly prepared from the MacBook on the iMac and received the same exact error message.

  • Is the screen on the iMac 27 "too big?

Is the screen on the iMac 27 "too big?

Ultimately you can answer this question. Personally, I use an iMac 27-inch (not the retina) and I am very satisfied with the screen. It is useful to take the time to get the speed of the mouse you will find it more convenient, balancing the distance the bar has to travel against the speed of the movement. otherwise I had no complaints about it. If you are in a very small space, I guess it might be a bit problematic.

If you look at an Apple store, don't forget they look still more small in the shop!

    Hi Rita,.

Thank you for contributing to the communities of Apple Support.

It seems that your iMac won't start and wondering how to get it back. I know that this can be a difficult situation, and there are several steps that you can try.

First of all, don't forget to try the steps described in these troubleshooting articles:

    If your Mac does not

If a flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac

If your iMac doesn't always upward, you can use your MacBook Pro to recover data on your iMac in target disk mode:

Share files between two computers with target disk mode

  • Try to update the iMac G5 DMG 10.5

I have an old iMac G5 with 10.4.11 on it. He has a bad CD drive and can't seem to even a superdrive Apple CD/DVD, when connected by USB. So I a. My 10.5 installation disk DMG file. First I tried to copy it to a Firewire hard drive, but the iMac won't even see the drive (FW tab in everything it sees Mac nothing), although two other Mac (Intel), he can see very well.   I also put on a USB key, but when I run the update to 10.5, it is said to 'restart to start' and then just restarts in its 10.4 normal on the internal drive. What Miss me - how this DMG to upgrade my iMac 10.4? I also see that the iMac can start on the network; is there a way I can get one of my other Macs to serve the 10.5 update via network to begin out of that? Or, can I do the USB drive (32 GB) a real startup disk and start the iMac that?

Most of the PowerPC Macs can start up of external hard drives, FireWire (not USB).  Former ports USB2.0 (even if) may not provide enough power for a USB optical drive, if it is powered type current by USB (not its own power supply).  And it would not work for this purpose, because it is USB, no FireWire.  This is why the USB flash drive does not either, at the start of the iMac.

It may have to this external FireWire drive.  What type of disk external drive FireWIre is?  Is this a record 2.5 inches which is powered by the FireWire port, or a 3.5-inch disk addition which has its own power supply?  The type with its own power supply is better, don't count is not on the port for power.  Is it directly connected to the FireWire port on the iMac?  If you have more than one FireWire cable, have you tried more than one (to rule out a defective cable)?  FireWire 400 (older type) or FireWire 800 (new type)?  Either should work, as long as you have the right cable.  What type of port the iMac FireWire has?

If you can get it recognized by the Mac, you can use disk utility to 'restore' the .dmg to the FireWire drive file.  The FireWire drive should be cleared to have the Map of Partition Apple partition scheme and format Mac OS extended (journaled), be bootable with a PowerPC Mac.

  • temperature of the iMac 27 inch

    Hi guys,.

My iMac 27 5 k do a lot of fan noise when I am working on two or more applications, even though my iMac is fully charged. I have attached a screenshot for the temperature of heating please take a look and let me know if this is normal for the quality of the iMac.

    Information on my iMac:

    1-27-inch iMac with screen Retina 5 K

2 4.0 GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 4.2 GHz

    3 32 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 SDRAM - four 8 GB

    4. 512 GB of Flash storage

5 AMD Radeon R9 M395X with 4 GB of video memory

The question is: with all these latest technologies still it is not enough that the silent computer?

Is your iMac late 2014 or 15?

Specifications a this year are similar.

Mine is the 15th end one, same as yours, but 16 GB memory specifications and Fusion of 3 TB drive. The same CPU and GPU.

Here is a picture of my temperature (Fahrenheit), but I do nothing intense, just Safari with 10 or so iTunes tabs, Mail, and Pages open.

I don't know how much it helps, but it gives you a little something to compare to.

My room is not silent, but really, I do not hear my fan.

  • LR office freezes the iMac

I have an iMac 27 "mid-2010 with OS X EL Capitan 10.11.6, 12 GB of RAM and LR 6.6.1 for mac in desktop version.

This is the second time I open a thread for the same question.

The problem I have is that you use LR freezes the iMac, the screen goes black, and the only way is to stop the mac of the power button and then restart it.

This happens every time I use LR, often just a few seconds after it starts and I start to work.

It seems to be independent from the actions that I do. It just freezes and there is no way to recover. I have to turn off the mac.

In recent months, the problem started when I installed LR (6.5.1).

In this case, with the help of the friends of the forum, I did a lot of testing to solve. Off the GPU, reinstalled LR from scratch without any result

After several trials, I thought (for a week) that the problem was with firefox, because when I used LR, firefox always started and in two or three cases in which LR worked properly firefox did not work.

Do more test I realized that this was wrong. LR freezes the iMac, even if is the only application running.

LR after two or three times in that worked well was restarted to freeze the mac whenever I tried to use it.

This occurs in the same way today with the new version of LR and the new version of the OS.

The problem is generated by LR and not the mac that has never crashed or freezes without LR.

I am very angry and annoyed by this behavior.

I bought an app that worked correctly at least 10 times.

Can someone help me solve the problem?

    Best regards

    Vincenzo Corrado

I launched the AHT (Apple Hardware Test) which has detected a failure of the RAM. Now, I have to isolate which module of memory is affected by the problem. After that, I'll try to run LR.

I you will know if the problem is completely resolved.

    Thank you.

    Best regards
