JRE Oracle Solaris SPARC 64-bit question

Operating system: Solaris sparc 10u9

I recently upgraded to 1.7.0_45 java runtime environment and I have encountered a few problems.

So far, the usual approach to get a 64-bit JRE was to replace the bin files / with the 64-bit package (given that the 64-bit package depends on the 32-bit one)
But in trying to do the same thing with jre 1.7.0_45, problems began to occur.

After further research, I noticed that the java executable has the runpath has changed and so it cannot find the necessary libjli.so

(Before 1.7.0_45, the java executable contained 3 runpaths to cover all the test cases)

Any suggestions on how to deal with the situation? Just to note, changing the JAVA_HOME is not an option because it is referenced more than a hundred times, so it would be rather impossible...

Looking forward to any suggestions.

I came to a pretty rough resolution, but it is the only work so far - symbolic links.

The resolution is the following:

(1) delete all files(not the sparcv9 directory) in bin /.
(2) create symbolic links in bin / that link to the contents of bin/sparcv9 /.
(3) be careful when extracting the jre - zip/copy different agents (such as ants, etc.) have different implementations of the respective functions. For best results, use the native tools of the OS (cp, unzip).

PS: I write mainly for users who encounter the same problem. The question is still open, because there might be a better solution.

N ° and this is not to say that there is not, that is to say that you have not permission to do. Since it is a patch for 10.2, you'll need a contract "extended support".

  • Migration Oracle 11 g of Sun Solaris sparc to Red had linux

    Dear Experts,

Could you please share your experiences of migration Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production of Sun Solaris Sparc 64 - bit Red Hat linux 5.6. Any links, documentation, issues, notes would be very useful.

    Thank you.

I think that the best way to achieve this is to perform a test using test databases/servers. This test will identify the problems and obstacles specific to your installation, which may or may not be mentioned in the generic documentation that you can find.

  • [Answered] List of patches for Solaris 10 SPARC 64 bit!

    Hi all

Document setup for 10g Release 2 (10.2) for the operating system Solaris (SPARC 64-Bit) says nothing about the fixes required on Solaris 10 (there is a list for Solaris 8 and 9).

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B19306_01/install.102/b15690/pre_install.htm#sthref110

Can I safely assume that the installation of Solaris 10, contains all the fixes that are required in this case?

Only a version for aqualogic Interaction but I think that is not works for my development.

I try to install a version of linux and everything went well but when I try to run the Setup Manager shell programming detects the data with the command uname s then the process "think" that it is on SunOS with 64-bit, of course, and it may not last.

  • BI Server will not start on Solaris 10 (SPARC) 64 bit OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1

    Hello world

I have a few teething problems of the server of BI on Solaris 10 (SPARC) 64 bit OS with OBIEE 10.1.3.4.1. I swear it worked very well last week (in fact I think even a few entries in the log file of the server of last week). But the server is now definitely down. When I run the command run - his start64 .sh or the beginning of the same race - his .sh, I get the standard messages that start the BI server, however, I check the log file and there is nothing in the log file and the server starts. I run the command ps - ef | grep to see if I can find the saserver from the running process, but the only thing running is the presentation server (sawserver).

I will continue to dig through the documentation and forums, but I wanted to put it out there in case someone point me in the right direction.

    Thanks for the help!

It could be dumping core. Turn on some unexpected dumps core with ' ulimit-c 0 ' and restart all processes. The dump will be created on the server log directory (* mehdi).

  • 10g on Solaris SPARC to 12 c on Solaris x 86

    Hi all

Thanks in advance for reading my questions, I was stuck on this during some time now.

I'mnew management database, so be lenient if this question has a straight answer.

As the title, I want to migrate a database 10g on Solaris SPARC to a newly created database 12 c on Solaris x 86.

What I read in the docs, I need to use:

1 cross-platform Transportable Tablespace using expdp.

2 convert the data file with RMAN (due to different endian)

    3. import the dump of the data and data file in the new database.

The docs say I must re-create all user profiles in the target DB be same as source DB, otherwise impdb will throw an error. However I have a few hundred user patterns and recreate one by one is impractical.

Is it possible to import the storage space while recreating all user profiles at the same time?

    Thank you very much

    Kevin

    Hey Kevin,

I thought there was a reason you want to use the TTS on expdp/impdp (usually the size of the database would be the main reason here). expdp/impdp will extract everything you need - adding that the TTS is in your case, an unnecessary complication.

Essentially made of what datapump is extracted a load of SQL statements in a file - i.e. create table, insert into table values 1,2,3 etc - so it is completely platform independent and can be used from any platform to any other platform. So in your case, it would create all the storage space in the tablespace x and then fill. Copies fair TTS the datafile (with data in them) then the oracle doesn't have to do all the create table/inserts he only adds metadata about those objects in the destination database data dictionary.

I would ignore TTS and do the following steps:

    (1) in the new database create tablespace empty nine

    (2) complete expdp = y on source

    (3) no impdp full = y on the destination

Probably still get you some errors on imports (mainly because of objects already existing system - but these can be ignored)

There may be some grants sys lacking in complete export to perhaps be given manually afterwards (you have not one of these - here's how you can check out them http://dbaharrison.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/script-to-create-grant-commands-for.html )

    Hope that helps,

    Rich

  • Oracle 10.2 64-bit to SQL Server 2000 (32-bit) through DG4ODBC and DBLINK

    Hi all

I need to connect from Oracle to SQL Server through DB-LINK, and since my installation Oracle does not contain of HSODBC, I installed DG4ODBC.

    My current setup SW is:

    (1) oracle Server (64-bit):
Operating system: Windows Server 2008 Standard SP2
DB: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production 64-bit
Gateway: Heterogeneous Agent 11.2.0.1.0 - 64 bit Production version built with Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC
    Oracle home: E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\
    Gateway home: D:\apps\product\11.2.0\tg_1\
In addition, he performs a 10.0 ArcGIS/ArcSDE on Oracle.

    (2) MS SQL Server (32-bit):
    OS: Windows NT 5.2 SP2
DB: Microsoft SQL Server 2000-8.00.2065 (Intel X 86)

There are two headphones running (one of each installation, 10.2 and 11.2) which, I suppose, can lead to conflicts or reduce performance. As a restriction, I need the listener from 10.2 to continue

unchanged running from ArcSDE Service use and re-create them is a pain.

So my question is, how do I configure a (10.2) or two listeners (10.2 and 11.2) use DG4ODBC to connect to a remote SQL Server to Oracle?

I have followed several threads in this forum, try different configurations but I can not connect successfully with the DATABASE LINK. In most cases, I get error ORA-28545 and ORA-02063.

Can someone help me solve this problem? What I need to send more information, for example {SID} init. now, listener.ora, tnsnames.ora, clarifications etc?

    Thank you much in advance.

    Gaston.

    Hi, Gaston,.
The following note describes the setting up Dg4ODBC on 64-bit Windows-

How the installer DG4ODBC (gateway for ODBC Oracle database) on 64-bit Windows operating systems (Doc ID 1266572.1)

You definitely need 2 separate listeners - one for the 10.2 RDBMS and one for the 11.2 Dg4ODBC. There should be no concern about the performance or other conflicts. The only thing to know is that listener DG4ODBC must use a different port than the 10.2 listener.

Heike referred to as using a file odbc.ini, but it is necessary when setting up Dg4ODBC on Unix/Linux platforms. Under Windows, the database non-Oracle information in the system DSN that is used for the HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO parameter in theinit .ora file DG4ODBC.

    Do the following-

-Configure the gateway as Note 1266572.1 with a listener running of the ORACLE_HOME bridge, in your case D:\apps\product\11.2.0\tg_1\
-create tnsnames.ora entry in the 10.2 RDBMS directory $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin for the gateway
-create the database link in the RDBMS using the tnsnames.ora entry.

If you still have problems then view the files following and information-

    -Gateway listener.ora
    -gatewayinit .ora
    -RDBMS tnsnames.ora
    -create database link statement

Another point, because you're running on Windows 64 bits, then the ODBC driver that is referred to in the system DSN for the connection must be a 64-bit driver. You cannot use the 32-bit drivers with 64-bit DG4ODBC.

    Kind regards
    Mike
