Migration Oracle 11 g of Sun Solaris sparc to Red had linux

Dear Experts,

Could you please share your experiences of migration Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production of Sun Solaris Sparc 64 - bit Red Hat linux 5.6. Any links, documentation, issues, notes would be very useful.

Thank you.

I think that the best way to achieve this is to perform a test using test databases/servers. This test will identify the problems and obstacles specific to your installation, which may or may not be mentioned in the generic documentation that you can find.

  • memory usage by a process of oracle on sun Solaris

    Hello forum,.

I want to track the memory usage by a process of oracle on sun solaris 64-bit SPARC system.

I tried to do it by the command of the PMAC, but I found that the output for each pid (process oracle) is even around 8GB. Please note that the 8 GB is the size of our LMS.

Please let me know the command by which I can check that "how much memory that uses an oracle on Sun Solaris Sparc 64-bit server process.

  • From the WEST on Solaris SPARC

    Hello

Our group has a duty to improve a component that connects to Oracle DB.
The component is written in C++, so it should be WESTERN.
The component is supposed to work on Solaris SPARC, x 86 and Linux.

At first glance, the OCCI page does not seem to have a downloadable API library for Sparc
Or any version of Solaris also. Is this correct?
    http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/database/occidownloads-083553.html

However, the instant client page does not seem to have downloadable for Solaris Sparc and x 86.
But I don't know if that's what I should start with.
I see that there are a few example OCCI programs I can use, but I have absolutely no idea how to compile and use them.

Y at - it a page that explains how to start with SACCO on Sparc?

    Thank you
    -Amol

The instant client download will probably contain libraries and header files you need to compile and link the OCCI applications. It must contain the header files, libraries and jar files for odbc, oci, occi, pro * C and other interfaces.

  • No power supply in April 2012 to 10.2.0.4 on Oracle Solaris SPARC (64 bit)?

According to + Patch Update and Critical Patch Update April 2012 Document availability [1406574.1 ID], it seems that there is no April 2012 PSU for Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit). The final is of course one was released on July 2011. But when I click on Database 10.2.0.4.12 PSU Patch 12879933 next to the Oracle database home, a download option appears for this platform. The download button is grayed out and the hover-over flight wrote that I don't have permission to download this patch.

    My questions:

    (1) is this typical of a platform to appear on a POWER Pack download page, even if there is no such PSU? And if so, why?
    (2) is there or is there not an April 2012 PSU to 10.2.0.4 on Oracle Solaris SPARC (64 bit)?
    (3) If this power supply does not exist, is my only option to upgrade to Set 10.2.0.5 Patch, and then apply the April 2012 PSU for it?

    Thank you very much.

N ° and this is not to say that there is not, that is to say that you have not permission to do. Since it is a patch for 10.2, you'll need a contract "extended support".

  • Re: migrate our database of the ERP of Solaris Sparc 64 to Linux x86_

    Hello

We migrate our database of the ERP of Solaris Sparc 64 to Linux x86_64.

    Please suggest a few docs.

    Kind regards.

I assume you're on R12 since you want to migrate the crux of application layer for 64-bit Linux (which is certified for the node on R12 but not 11i application layer), so please refer to the documentation on this topic - Re: someone at-migration/upgrade R12.0.6 on Solaris to R12.1.3 on Linux?

  • Techstack of HP-UNIX SUN Solaris migration

Hi I need help in the migration process application server of HP to the Sun.

I am following the Doc #238276.1, and I am applying techstack interop patch 4139957 (already applied the specific fix personalized).

But if I run adpatch, I got the following and these binaries are HP.

    # adpatch
    ksh: adpatch: not found
    oracta001:/UL01/app/applmgr/lasrx/ad/11.5.0/bin >
    # ls-l adpatch
    -rwxr-xr-x 1 lasrx s/n 5963776 7 Dec 17:00 adpatch
    oracta001:/UL01/app/applmgr/lasrx/ad/11.5.0/bin >

Thus, any Suggetions on it. Is this work with Sun solaris, if we need to do to support Sun solaris.

    Thank you.

Were you able to apply the update custom using adpatch without error? If so and the problem with the executable files will appear only after applying this fix, then I would say that connect you a SR.

    Thank you

  • abandonment of Oracle 8i on sun solaris platform server

    Greetings

I have a database of oracle 8.1.7 sitting on a sun solaris Server 8 I have to let go. can someone give me the steps?

On the unix database do not depend on any service from the OS. It save it yourself in the registry. Droping the database on any UNIX flaver is so very simple, just delete all files in database, Redolog files, control file, spfile, password file

You can find the files of data dba_data_files v$ datafile
    Redolog v$ logfiles
    controlfiles v$ controlfiles

  • JRE Oracle Solaris SPARC 64-bit question

    Operating system: Solaris sparc 10u9

I recently upgraded to 1.7.0_45 java runtime environment and I have encountered a few problems.

So far, the usual approach to get a 64-bit JRE was to replace the bin files / with the 64-bit package (given that the 64-bit package depends on the 32-bit one)
But in trying to do the same thing with jre 1.7.0_45, problems began to occur.

After further research, I noticed that the java executable has the runpath has changed and so it cannot find the necessary libjli.so

(Before 1.7.0_45, the java executable contained 3 runpaths to cover all the test cases)

Any suggestions on how to deal with the situation? Just to note, changing the JAVA_HOME is not an option because it is referenced more than a hundred times, so it would be rather impossible...

    Looking forward to any suggestions.

I came to a pretty rough resolution, but it is the only work so far - symbolic links.

    The resolution is the following:

    (1) delete all files(not the sparcv9 directory) in bin /.
    (2) create symbolic links in bin / that link to the contents of bin/sparcv9 /.
    (3) be careful when extracting the jre - zip/copy different agents (such as ants, etc.) have different implementations of the respective functions. For best results, use the native tools of the OS (cp, unzip).

PS: I write mainly for users who encounter the same problem. The question is still open, because there might be a better solution.

  • 10g on Solaris SPARC to 12 c on Solaris x 86

    Hi all

Thanks in advance for reading my questions, I was stuck on this during some time now.

I'mnew management database, so be lenient if this question has a straight answer.

As the title, I want to migrate a database 10g on Solaris SPARC to a newly created database 12 c on Solaris x 86.

What I read in the docs, I need to use:

1 cross-platform Transportable Tablespace using expdp.

2 convert the data file with RMAN (due to different endian)

    3. import the dump of the data and data file in the new database.

The docs say I must re-create all user profiles in the target DB be same as source DB, otherwise impdb will throw an error. However I have a few hundred user patterns and recreate one by one is impractical.

Is it possible to import the storage space while recreating all user profiles at the same time?

    Thank you very much

    Kevin

    Hey Kevin,

I thought there was a reason you want to use the TTS on expdp/impdp (usually the size of the database would be the main reason here). expdp/impdp will extract everything you need - adding that the TTS is in your case, an unnecessary complication.

Essentially made of what datapump is extracted a load of SQL statements in a file - i.e. create table, insert into table values 1,2,3 etc - so it is completely platform independent and can be used from any platform to any other platform. So in your case, it would create all the storage space in the tablespace x and then fill. Copies fair TTS the datafile (with data in them) then the oracle doesn't have to do all the create table/inserts he only adds metadata about those objects in the destination database data dictionary.

I would ignore TTS and do the following steps:

    (1) in the new database create tablespace empty nine

    (2) complete expdp = y on source

    (3) no impdp full = y on the destination

Probably still get you some errors on imports (mainly because of objects already existing system - but these can be ignored)

There may be some grants sys lacking in complete export to perhaps be given manually afterwards (you have not one of these - here's how you can check out them http://dbaharrison.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/script-to-create-grant-commands-for.html )

    Hope that helps,

    Rich
