KB2770816 fails and "Configuration Windows Updates" hangs for 30 minutes at the stop/restart to 15%

Hi Chris,

It would be great if you remember to do it when you return, there is no problem for me to wait before the end of the month.

I'll catch up with you then.

Kind regards

Chris.

Hi everyone who has problems with the installation of patch number KB2770816 especially those with a Medion computer. I had this problem since early August and contacted Microsoft. They worked on my PC in the last two days and have now to rectify the problem. They will post how to solve this problem in due course. The information on the pages of the community regarding the evolution of the registry entries are incomplete. Until the correct information is available, I would recommend that 'hide you' this update to avoid delays when you restart your PC, etc. After you installed the updates. I can not praise Microsoft technicians quite strongly on how they have dealt with this problem for me and would recommend others to use its easy when things go wrong.

I manually ran Windows Update for about 22 updates including KB3002885 (KB3000061 is not included at this time).  It resulted in "Failure Configuring Windows Updates, changes of recovery".

    Measures taken (without the fix):

    -System Restore (3 weeks)

Updates at this point (November 14, 2014) identified KB3000061.  When update was executed for this update by itself it also caused the problem of the "default configuration... '. ».

Follow these steps we will know what update is a problem and we will try to solve the problem on the basis of that.

    1. Go to control panel-> Administrative Tools-> Services and scrolled down to find the "Windows Update" service and stop it.

  • I'm getting 'Failure Configuring Windows Updates, changes of restoration' by updating windows.

It was the first time that I am trying to update my laptop of Lenovo G500s which is come with 8 windows pre installed, before installing the updates, I have restored the laptop if you default factory using Lenovo a recovery key. While the updates are being installed I received a message 'Fail configuration Windows updates reverting changes'. It lasted for an hour. When I tried to install updates again the same message appeared. My laptop came pre-installed with Nitro Pdf 8 and Mcafee Internet Security, so I have even uninstalled them, I also ran Mcafee Consumer Product Removal Tool. But the problem with windows update remained. I then ran the convenience store update Windows that sets these two problems:

fix windows update fixed the database and repair misconfigured update windows components, but this solves nothing. Later I discovered that although the resolution of update problems show that the problems have been solved but convenience store running immediately shows again the same problems.

So this time I ran again the recovery system, and immediately after the system recovery windows update of convenience store that showed the problems mentioned above two updates of windows.
