KB2840149 - should it remove kb2823324

Just looking for clarification.

I have installed KB2840149 - http://www.winbeta.org/news/kb2840149-update-windows-7-released-replaces-botched-update-caused-infinite-reboots and http://blogs.technet.com/b/msrc/archive/2013/04/23/new-update-available-for-ms13-036.aspx

After the reboot, I noticed that I always kb2823324 in the history of the update.

2823324 should always be there? that is done replace 2840149 2823324 or work with it?

I have to manually delete the 2823324

Thank you

Some more digging, I think I've answered my own question:

"I have already successfully installed the update of 2823324 security original and has no problems. Should I apply the April 23, 2013 update re-released (2840149)?
Yes. On April 11, 2013, Microsoft provided guidance that all customers should uninstall the security update 2823324 and expired associated packages. In situations where customers do not uninstall the updated original, they should apply to the update republished (2840149), which replaces the update 2823324 has expired. Visitors do not need to uninstall the update expired 2823324 before to apply the 2840149 update; However, Microsoft strongly recommends it. Customers who do not remove the update has expired will keep a list for 2823324 under updates installed in the Panel. »

It is bad test of MS I think. If they "recommend" the original travel before installing the replacement, they should remember that these (many many) users who have automatic-updates now and probably do not read the MS articles like the one above, will end up with the new just ongoing correction of installation.

If its "strongly recommended" to remove the first original, then MS should have a mechanism to check if the original has been installed and remove if it OR the update fails, making the move from the original a sine qua non for the replacement.

I guess that didn't have not removed the original has no bad effects other than registration remaining?

What is the file deleted the files in the main folder, and can / should I remove it? Is it too much room, I could use?

This file stores a list of files from previous version of Firefox that are no longer needed or supported in the current version of Firefox. This file is only a few KB and it is best not to delete files in the Firefox program folder to avoid update problems. If the required files are missing or modified with a update Firefox will download the full version (approximately 10 MB) instead of a small incremental update which is usually only a few hundred KB.

  • Satellite A200: Should I remove the battery when working on the power supply

    Hello

I've been running an A200 machine for the last 2 months, bought as a desktop replacement in order to fit in my small apartment. I realize now that I never ued work on battery - it is always powered on sector. Since this is unlikely to change, should I remove the battery? Deing battery degrades remaining in the machine while it is continusouly by the industry feeding, or does it not matter?

Thank you very much in advance for your reviews.

    GW.

You can remove it, but it should not be done. For me, it's stupid to remove the battery and let the dust make the battery place dirty. The batteries we use today are very good and Scott wrote the electronic power supply just to check if the battery is full and care the battery and the battery capacity.

  • Is there a white protective layer on the screen of the iPod Nano, which should be removed?

My iPod Nano (16 GB) I received for Christmas last fact not have a white around the screen, but the new one framework that I bought for my wife fact.  At first, I thought it was just another layer of protection, but then I wasn't sure.  -What is that supposed to be left intact?  In addition, on the bottom, there a white band.  Same question: should be removed or left in place?  As much as I love my Apple, I find it embarrassing that there is no explicit statement for the first time Apple users who don't know not all the features bit of Apple products.

The area around the screen is a different color, depending on the 'main' color of your iPod nano.  Go to the web page of the "purchase" of Apple for the iPod nano

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/buy-iPod/iPod-nano

Where is said to choose a color, click on the options.  All current options have white around the screen, with the exception of the grey space, which is black around the screen.  There is no protective layer, so please do not try to remove it!

I want to improve memory on iMac 27 in. 3.3 GHz, 5K retina. There are now two 4 G of Ram. I want to add two 8 G of ram. Should I remove two 4 G, or simply add 8G in two empty slots? There are 4 slots for RAM.  Going to have a mixed match (two 4 and two 8) in trouble? Or will it improve my speed giving me 24G of RAM?

It will be fine as long as they are installed in pairs (and, as long as your model can handle 8 GB modules). Just install them in the empty slots. Working with word documents or online will be not much faster - you will notice the difference in speed apps to respond, with graphic design and video editing, etc or game play. The new OS versions like more RAM, so you can not go wrong there.

FYI, you do not run iOS on an iMac - Please edit your profile to show what OS version you are using. It helps the helpers.

    Should I remove XP?

    Hello Lewis,

Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.

    I suggest using disk cleanup.

Click on Start Orb > all programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup

Go through and select all that you can cleanup, also check the tab more options and making sure that you go through the restore points.

Delete temporary internet files and personal files.
The best thing to do is backup everything on an external hard drive for 2 reasons.
1 - To free disk space
2 - To have a backup in case something happens with your computer.

  • Fibre channel host bus adapters should be removed if not in use?

We have a Dell Poweredge R720 server that has a Qlogic host an orphan in her bus adapter. The lighting on the HBA flashes yellow, green and orange. I wonder if this orphan adapter could use the system resources and if it should be removed.

    Kimblbob,

Despite the HBA is not used, it will use resources. Now granted it's a very tiny amount, but he uses them what. When the card is installed, it will draw power, as well as the host server will spend processes in the sending of communications "heartbeat" with the card, it is ready to use it... Thus, while it is a VERY small amount, he uses them.

I see no problem with you withdraw during a maintenance window.

Hope this helps to answer your question.

  • Should he remove it under regedit directly?

I find the srspanel_64 registry key and would like to know how to uninstall it security.

Should he remove it under regedit directly?

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions

Start-up (all users) files run - srspanel_64.exe is registered with the identifier of the series "3D SRS Premium Sound" and the run command ' /f "C:\Program Files\SRS Labs\SRS control Panel\SRSPanel_64.exe" = 'C:\Program Files\SRS Labs\SRS control Panel\SRS_Premium_Sound_PS3D.zip' / h ' in the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run registry Windows. Run keys are the Startup registry keys that are used to launch an application automatically when any Windows user logs on to Windows.

You can disable the startup using MSCONFIG program simple.

Click Start, type MSCONFIG and press {ENTER}.

Go to the Startup tab and uncheck the entry that contains the text "SRSPanel_64.exe".

Click OK to close the MSCONFIG Utility.

In searching the Web, I found this (additional information):

SR Control Panel is a program developed by SRS Labs. The most used version is 1.11.0200, with more than 98% of all facilities that currently use this version. During installation, the program registers itself to run at startup through a Windows schedule the task in order to automatically to the commissioning (in many cases than that to avoid all UAC prompts).
