KB947821
Because this update has been installed (automatically) I couldn't access my CanoScan Lide 20 scanner. I uninstalled the scanner, deleted the driver and reinstalled the driver and the scanner. I have also reinstalled the software. All to nothing does not.
Can anyone help?
Best wishes

Tony,
If the system restore didn't help, then uninstall this patch, and then reinstall the scanner and see if that corrects the problem.
To uninstall the update click Start > Panel > programs > then select the installed display updates > find the update, then remove the.

Run-time error of update (KB947821) system preparation tool
I have a Compaq running Vista 32 bit (x 86) system. I have noticed lately that have been without Microsoft Updates, and check history, it lasts for quite awhile. Updates failed with error 606. I looked at a proposed fix and the answer seems to be the update of the system (implemented as KB947821) tool. I tried to download this and running, but the green progress bar is is stuck about 80% (I left it for an hour). I did some checking and the storage on my computer using Norton 360 and System Mechanic. Then I tried to download the system update readiness tool again. This time, the green progress bar never even began. So now I'm stuck - I can't implement Microsoft Updates and the only solution I can find does not work. Everyone falls on this and can suggest a solution?

original title: I get error Service disabled 0 x 80070422 when you install SP1 on Windows Server 2008 R2
I get the above error if you use Windows Update or install SP1 from DVD.
I found that the Windows Modules Installer Service is the service responsible for the error. It is configured to start automatically. When I go to the Dependencies tab I get a pop up that says: "Win32: the service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices is associated to him."I disabled AVG during an installation attempt.I followed the troubleshooting steps, by running the update of preparation tool (KB947821 nothing helps.Hi Roy,

Hello, MatchWhat
Are you always problems with your computer or run the system update readiness tool solves the problem?
KB947821 is the tool of the system update, this isn't an update, it rather is a tool that will scan and fix of inconsistencies that may prevent the updates install correctly.
Since it is a tool, it is not available through Windows updates and you will be asked to download and run it manually if you encounter any problems.

Will not install KB947821. Error code 80073712. Although the update KB978207 has been correctly downloaded and installed after that. All this happened after the uninstallation of McAfee antivirus. Vista SP2 wants me to install KB947821, but it is already installed
Hello
Recently I tried to install vista SP2 without result, he gave me error code "SP1 must be installed", but he was already. To resolve this problem, I used the instillation of vista disc to upgrade my computer to vista, which corrects this problem. I then proceeded to the install SP2 and restarted my computer, resulting in a complete system failure and the inability to restart my computer. I tried to reinstall vista via the instillation CD and it did not work, so I had to delete all partitions including my internal backup and finally it has helped my computer install Vista from the outset.
Since then, I downloaded almost all the updates as well as on, KB947821 and tried to install SP2. Now, I get this error message when trying to install (after preparation of your computer room):
"An error system not service pack install. Please download and execution tool the "check IN" http://... "but I already did.I tried other things:
VLite removal: vLite did not exist
Start in selective mode: same mistake as mainPlease help, I would really have the SP2.

KB947821 update [October 2014] appears suddenly in October 2015?
Hey there will:
I hope someone can help and answer my question.
I am running Windows 7 SP 1, 64 with IE 11 x and have kept all current Windows updates, since I bought my Dell laptop 4 years ago. Updates are still installed and I did have problems with updates failed, etc. I also keep the antivirus updated and scan 5 times a week.
Yesterday, the following appeared in my list of updates of 'Important '; KB947821 update [October 2014] system tool.
Why something dated a year ago suddenly appear as a 'new' update? More so that I keep all the updates, updated! It really gives me a bad feeling, and I'm afraid to install it before you know whether it is legitimate or not. Of course, I may very well just be paranoid, but would rather be safe than sorry!
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I hope you have a nice day!
Hi Dragonfire,
It is safe to install because it was offered hollow a Windows Update.
If you have any changes that may have evolved this update of your system, make it install it again, or it may have an update update. If you do not have to worry about this.
I hope this helps to solve the issue. If the problem persists, get back to us. We will be happy to help you.
