Windows Update continually wants to install Sql Server SP3...
I have a 64-bit system running Sql Server 2005 (64-bit) and Sql Express (it seems that it is 64-bit).
Windows Update said I needed sp3 for both versions, but after making a stop, I always get the message that he wants to apply the service pack.I went out and manually d / edition and installed the service pack for both servers, but Windows Update is not in agreement that the service pack is applied.
This makes my machine windows 7 have a stop for 5 to 10 minutes every time because it's think it's to apply the service pack.
Someone please tell me how to stop that!

Windows Update keeps wanting to install "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows XP (KB2618444)", even if it appears in the list of updates to inistalled in the control panel. The installation fails. When I use "Fix it", it indicates that default Windows update data locations have changed, but I can't 'Fix It' to do the repair. In what could be a related issue, Windows Data Execution Prevention (part of IE 8?) detects a malfunctioning or malicious add-on, whenever I try to access a video on ESPN3 and closes the Web page. However, 'Fix It' can not detect any problems with the modules. I don't know what else to try to fix any of these problems.

Problems with the update of security of Internet Explorer (KB2618444)
HelloYou can check this link:Troubleshooting Windows Update or Microsoft Update when you are repeatedly offered an update
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/910339You can also try this link: -
A security update (KB2584146) has been installed. After installation, it shows properly "installed". Yet, whenever I have re-boot or run Micrsoft update, it offers this update again. It shows also 'successful' in the history of my Microsaoft update. Win XP SP3 (Build 2600).
It's an old update. Wonder why you just get it now.
First try this...
Click Start > run > type chkdsk/r > press OK or press the Enter key. A cmd window will appear telling you that the volume is in use and you want to plan its next reboot. Type y and press ENTER. Then restart.
Try to install the update and check that it installed properly by doing another analysis of Windows Update. If this does not do...
Download the update manually, on your desktop to the http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=28608.
Click Start > run > Browse. In the Browse dialog box, double-click WindowsXP-KB2584146 - x 86 - ENU.exe. The box open term should have the path now. Add a space and an x at the end.
Press OK or press the Enter key.
You will get a dialog box with the path to your desktop already filled.
After Office add a slash and the name of the folder so that we end up with something like C:\Documents and Settings\\Desktop\KB2584146.
Go to this folder, and then in the SP3GDR folder.
You can see packager.exe.
Right-click to copy.
In the box to run, type dllcache, then press on enter.
Paste the file in there, replacing the one already there.
In the run box, type system32, then press on enter.
Paste the file there too by crushing the already there.
Is there a lot of folder there. Make sure you do not paste in a subfolder. You want to the root of system32.Go to Windows Update and confirm that it no longer wants to install.

Problems with 2 updates continually want to download, KB2572073 and KB2518864.
Hello
Check the forums I see I'm not the only person today to have updates "KB2572073" and "KB2518864" continually want to install on my xp professional OS. When I check my editing history, he said that they succeeded, and before I caught I don't day these including several times each. When I checked my control panel "remove or add programs" I can't see them not listed... but when I did a search for files on my pc and they arise records and list details notebook them downloaded successfully.
I hope that that goes resolved soon with possibly a patch or something. Meanwhile, I would like to know if it is safe to ignore notifications for these 2 updates in particular? I am definitely going to install any other those who show up as my pc has already.
Thank you
Hi KathyLudlow,
Please take a look at the thread similar here with a solution as possible.
I hope this helps!

kb2539636 security update will not download/install automatically
Download Vista security
I have a laptop with vista family premium, sp2, 32-bit windows. I need to download kb2539636 security update. It will not download/install automatically. The MS website shows three different files for this download. They are: a 64 x, an IAH64x, an x 86. Since I was a 32-bit system, no sounds just. Which one should I download?Hi Ranchman,
x 86 is commonly used instead of 32-bit (and no, I don't know why)-if it's one you need for a 32-bit system. I looked up the update here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2539636. Then I went to http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=27017 and I think that what you want is NDP40-KB2539636 - x 86 .exe.
I hope this helps.
Good luck.
