• Volume continues to change spontaneously

  I repeatedly put my windows at a low level sounds but they keep resetting to higher volume.  I don't want to cut them off as I went to very difficult to implement a model of bird sounds.  They work fine on my other two computers XP and Vista, but not on this Vista Dell laptop lately.  The setting was stable during the first 18 months of use on this computer.

• Lollipop 5.1.1 silent priority vs and symbols of volume status bar mode

  Hi all

  just upgraded to lollipop 5.1.1 (from 5.0.2). Thank you devs of sony.

  Took place without a hitch - preserved apps, etc.

  However, decided to start again so erased memory.

  I noticed that the priority mode is no more (at least it does not appear now when you press hard volume keys - you get just 'normal' volume controls).

  "failures" are now described in sounds and notifications as "silent mode".

  I also noticed that a few symbols volume in the status bar seem no more. For example, I know with the symbol representing a star my volume in priority mode settings to be quiet or silent. With the hit through circle, I should be on silence and the phone with the small vertical bars meant that I was to vibrate mode.

  I can only now the symbol of the vibrate mode to appear.

  Finally, what is the status of alarms? There used to be a note in the interruptions on the alarms menu to always be treated as priority events.

  I was hoping that you would report this error. Unfortunately, I'm currently not behind my development computer, which means that I don't have the VDDK header files available now, but if I remember correctly, there must be a function named VixDiskLib_CheckRepair (...) in vixDiskLib.h. Take a look at it and his PhD students. This should be the function you're looking for. The thing is that this function erases the unclean shutdown set in the hard stop dirty file indicator. Unclean shutdown as a result of the crash.

• I do keep all backup files?

  My pictures/Lightroom/Backup folder has HUNDREDS of files, from a few years ago... do I have to keep all these (there are 109 as soon as 2013, 99 from 2014, etc...)? They use a bit of hard drive real estate (each of the most recent backup files has a lrcat about 400 MB file)... I tend to go up when I close each session of LR... it would make sense to just keep a few recent versions? Thank you!

  

  You should keep as much as you want to make your feel protected.

  For me, it's about a month with a value of backups.

• How can I view or load a flash drive without having to download all the content.

  Previously, with assistant, there was an option to do NOTHING to DO when you plug in a device (USB, CD key or camera), but I don't see this option now?  The program automatically downloads all of the volume that makes multiple copies if you keep a few pictures on your device.  Often, I want only the low load one or two images to work with photoshop.

  It won't automatically download/run except in the AutoPlay window origonal you had selected an option and then clicked allways this.

• Cannot add host to vCenter server as data store is shared with an existing host to vCenter

  Recently, I removed a physical host to a virtual appliance of vCenter Server and am not able to add it to vCenter Server because I get an error message on the existing data store.  I run a simple server vCenter environment with two physical hosts and shared storage.  I've only been administering vCenter for a few months, so I'm relatively new on the technology and processes.  I searched the Internet for a few days now, but have not found documentation everyone has the same problem I have (which I find strange considering the simplicity my problem and configuration), so I tried to get help from the community of VMware.

  I received an error message a day this vCenter Server cannot connect to either of the two hosts so I removed the host (rather than disconnect and plug as I should have done).  Now, I am not able to connect to the host to vCenter server because the shared storage data store comes into conflict with the same data store used by the host in vCenter Server.  I get the error message is ' "Datastore"datastore_name"is in conflict with a store of data that exists in the data center which has the same URL (ds: / / / vmfs/volumes/UUID /), but is supported by different physical storage." "  I try to remove the host data store, but get the following error message: "resource" data store name: datastore_name VMFS uuid: UUID' is in use. ".  The error stack said: "'HostStorageSystem.UnmountVmfsVolume' call failed for object 'storage system' on ESXi"IP address"."  Cannot unmount volume ' data store name: datastore_name VMFS uuid: 'UUID' because the file system is busy. Correct the problem and retry the operation. "I tried to delete all virtual machines of the inventory, put the hosts in maintenance mode, restart physical hosts, but none of my troubleshooting contributes.

  I don't know what steps to take to get this data store driving with the host so that I can add it in vCenter Server.  You can provide me with any help is appreciated.

  Good thing you already moved the VMs on.  For what is 'disconnect', 'remove' or 'delete' might work anyway.  You should maybe put the host in maintenance mode or even reboot the host before you can remove data warehouses.  In an extreme case, I even had to remove the host and the hypervisor installed completely rebuild on the spot.  It is not that difficult or does not take long to reinstall, so be not afraid on this subject.  A clean reinstall could still save time compared to the deletion of data warehouses.

• Adding a RAID card to help speed up the export (and another question reader) in first Pro CC

  First of all, I read the Page Tweakers export section because that is my main concern is. First my questions, then the background and my current and proposed configurations:

  Question 1: Adding a hardware RAID controller, for example an LSI MegaRAID will sufficiently remove the burden of parity management CPU on my RAID 5 software that the CPU will jump of joy and export faster?

  Question 2: If true for above, then compare thoughts on adding smaller SSD for either a RAID 0 or less two RAID 0 volume volume complete HDD RAID 5. In other words, I think the purchase of four Samsung 850 Pro 128 GB SSD to put in a four disk volume to handle everything (projects/media, media, previews, export cache), or split it into two volumes of two disks of each and divide the tasks, or keep the idea of volume four disc and previews and exports on my drive HARD RAID 5 array.

  The 850 are valued at SEQ write: 550 / 470 MB/s so I could get around 2000 / 1500 MB/s read/write to a disk four RAID 0 or 1/2 who, if I divided in two volumes to minimize the volume of read/write at the same time, if it really matters with these SSD?

  The Tweaker page made some comments. A split is carried out the tasks between different drives, rather than a large effective RAID can really slow things down.   My current setup of training:

  My D drive is a software RAID 5 consisting of four 1 TB Western Digital RE4 (RED) 7200 RPM hard drives with CrystalDiskMark SEQ read/write of 339 / 252 MB/s.

  The C drive is 500 GB SSD (Samsung 840 (not Pro) and fact 531 / 330 MB/s.) My OS, Program Files and Page file are on C and media data/files/projects, etc. that are all about the RAID drive.

  Problem:

  Current configuration allows for smooth installation, just export seems slow, usually taking between two and two and a half times the video length to export. Thus, a 10 minute video takes 20-30 minutes for export. 15 minute video can take 30-40 minutes to export. The first 10% of the export of re-encoding takes less than a minute (seems fast), but it becomes slower when the final 10 or 20 percent may hang for several minutes as my system is running out of steam. So, where's the waste?

  I activated the hardware acceleration (because the GPU hack my GPU is not listed) and it can break through to 25% use a few times and eat up to 600 MB of VRAM (I have 2 GB of VRAM), otherwise it is slowed down export set. The CPU can boost at 50%, but it seems either too busy.

  Our calendar is simple with two video and two audio streams (a little music and especially the voices), with simple transitions (jump cuts or cross dissolves). Sometimes, we fast correct color, so that could use the GPU? Also, given that we are filming in 1080 P 60 p and 1080 export 29.97 FPS, I think who is scaling and using the GPU. I know that without the GPU, it takes much longer. I excluded buy a faster GPU because it doesn't seem to be breaking a sweat.   Our files are not huge in nature. Most of our clips are several MBs each. Total files in the project are between 5 GB and 10 GB for each video with Windows Media File export being 500 MB to 1.2 GB on average. Look using Panasonic Camcorders, so the original files are AVCHD, I think (.) MTS files?).

  Considerations:

  1. I think to buy (and future proofing) a LSI Logic MegaRAID 9361-8i is 12 Gb/s SAS and SATA (because some SSD current can exceed the standard 6 Gbps).

  2. I will not replace my current HDD RAID 5 as not in my budget to spend 6 or more large SSD. These discs are more important to me for temporary storage because I delete files saved once. I don't mind a few smaller SSD inexpensive if they can make a significant difference for editing and export.

  I can only guess my RAID HDD is slow but the CPU is burdened by parity. I guess running RAID 10 would not really help.

  OK, after overload of information on everything I tried (free), which might be my answer here. I went from codecs to export. When you use Windows Media File, Premiere Pro seems chugging along much slower than when you use the h.264 (not h.264 Blu - Ray). I don't know if it's because Microsoft has found a way to break it or what. But I'm the CPU usage of 70-85% on the 2 Pass of 2 as well as the use of the memory of 40% (or 12 GB). It exported in 14 minutes. Woo - hoo. I then did a similar test using Windows Media File. It took 31 minutes to export. The CPU has spent much of his time in the 30%, especially down in the 1930s mid-1940s with spike for memory usage was only 24% to 35% and 50%. Since then, I've read how h.264 codec is 'plu' for online files. It compresses better with less compression artifacts. He seems better, etc. Well, they both seemed on the same thing for me. • Performance problems with large Photo library size

  Did anyone seen performance issues when the library becomes too great? I used to keep a few different libraries, since some of my libraries are already 1 TB. So, if I merge into one, the file will be 2-3 Tb when it's said and done. Anyone know if it is recommended to size limits or is it more important with El Capitan. Obviously, the response time will be affected by the hard drive and the speed of the laptop, but before you begin merging into one file libraries, I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions/recommendations or other related advice. Thank you!

  It is not documented, but how many pictures a library can contain pictures, you can migrate photos iPhoto libraries and libraries Aperture, so you should be able to store at least 1 000 000 photos in a photo library.

  I haven't noticed any performance issue with a large library of Photos.  My largest library has 40000 photos.

  During the regular work with the size of the library is not serious at all, as long as you want to keep enough free storage on your system drive. Don't let the photo library fill in your system drive. Keep at least 10 GB free at all times, better more.

  However, there are rare occasions when the size will be discussed:

  • When you need repair library, it will take more time, if the library is large.
  • When you first migrate your libraries of photos, the initial treatment will take longer - scanning for faces and places, creating thumbnails.
  • If you use iCloud library synchronization can take a long time for a large library.

  I don't know what you were doing or how you did it in your question. I suggest you check if you can perform a recovery network: computers, which can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery. Then proceed as follows:

  Clean Install of El Capitan on a new disc

  1. Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime, press Command + Option + R until a globe appears.
  2. The Utility Menu appears in 5 to 20 minutes. Be patient.
  3. Select disk utility, then click on the continue button.
  4. When loading disk utility, select the drive (generally, the entry Out-bumpy) in the list aside.
  5. Click the Partition tab in the main window of disk utility. A panel will fall.
  6. Set the GUID partition scheme.
  7. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
  8. Click on the apply button, then click the fact when it is active.
  9. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
  10. Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

  This should install it El Capitan for you on the SSD. You can transfer your files from your backup.
