SSD Macbook Pro problem

Hello.

Recently, I made the purchase of a Samsung SSD 850 evo and installed according to the advice of own Samsung (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mihb8YQzDxw & list = LL3FXtTPsf_dcteBdBwPvH4g & index = 1). "Could not unmount volume" or trying to clone the HD, "the source disk is only reading / writing.

Overall, I had a lot of difficulty in the exercise of reading from the SSD and always failed in installing Mac OS X.

Should what procedure I follow?

My Macbook Pro is the beginning of the model 2011 13'

Thank you.

I don't know what you were doing or how you did it in your question. I suggest you check if you can perform a recovery network: computers, which can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery. Then proceed as follows:

Clean Install of El Capitan on a new disc

  1. Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime, press Command + Option + R until a globe appears.
  2. The Utility Menu appears in 5 to 20 minutes. Be patient.
  3. Select disk utility, then click on the continue button.
  4. When loading disk utility, select the drive (generally, the entry Out-bumpy) in the list aside.
  5. Click the Partition tab in the main window of disk utility. A panel will fall.
  6. Set the GUID partition scheme.
  7. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
  8. Click on the apply button, then click the fact when it is active.
  9. Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
  10. Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.

This should install it El Capitan for you on the SSD. You can transfer your files from your backup.

  • With cable of HDD to SSD Macbook Pro mid-2012

I've recently upgraded to SSD (Samsung Evo 850) of the HARD drive on my Macbook pro mid-2012. However, the installation of the SSD has been very painful. I tried to use in recovery mode disk utility, several times but it fails to remove or mount the SSD drive. I thought it was the faulty SSD. Then I hung the SSDS via a USB port and proceeded to install OS X on it (using my HARD drive). The SSDS works very well with the USB key, so I put it in and hooked up with the flex cable that was previously used for my HARD drive. However, this does not work, the operating system sees that there is a reader hooked, sees the name, size and etc, but does not charge, gives me the sign of question mark folder, which means there is no hanging drive. So I think it's something with the HARD drive, SATA cable. But the cable works perfectly when used with the HARD disk. So I was wondering if the HARD drive cable that comes with Macbook Pro mid-2012 is compatible with the SSD. I watched several videos of people the SSD HARD drive upgrade, but they all seem to be using the same cable. Any ideas what could be the problem or if I need a different type of cable? Thank you.

Try this it worked for another user having the same problems.

Your MacBook is looking for initial start-up by car but can not find.

Power on the Mac and hold down the 'option' at the same time, and then manually select to boot from the drive of choice.

    Also, try this first:

    SMC and the PRAM Reset

I have a MBP mid-2012 13 inches and I did an upgrade SSD with a Samsung Evo 850-series (500 GB.). However, I had no problem.

I used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the original disc for the SSD via a USB-to-Sata adapter.

My first start was slow because I don't have the SMC / PRAM reset my MBP was looking for startup disk.

However after my MBP starts very quickly. I got no problem with Samsung Evo SSD. They work very well with Macs.

Don't forget to activate the "pad" your non - owc SSD support.

Open "terminal app" and enter the command 'sudo trimforce activate' select YES, YES... and restart after completing

  • retina failure SSD MacBook Pro early 2013

Since a few weeks, my MacBook Pro 10.1 (beginning 2013) retina a 512 GB SSD running the Mavericks has been sporadically crashing.  The disk has been partitioned, with a Mac OS X partition and a BootCamp partition.  An accident resulted in my default Mac partition.  DiskUtility told me that the volume cannot be repaired and back up my data as soon as POSSIBLE.  I managed to get everything on the Mac OS X partition.  The BootCamp partition seemed ok.  I checked the data verified S.M.A.R.T. ok.  I reformatted the Mac OS X partition.  Everything worked well for a few weeks, and then the accident began.  I took this as a problem of BONE rather than a hardware problem.  Today, the Mac crashed again and I forced a restart.  In other words, I tried to force a restart, but the drive didn't completely this time.

  • End of 2013 SSD Macbook Pro has failed

The SSD in my end 2013 13 "retina MBP failed, leaving me with a very nice and completely unnecessary aluminium piece.

The genius bar appointment confirmed the failure by saying that it was obviously a defective component, but that my only option was an Apple Service / repair costs £526 + VAT.

Someone else has met a failure of this type in the same model of MBP?

This would be a general problem with the SSD components used in this edition of the MBP that is similar to the issue of MB Air?

I'm obviously gutted by the failure and lack of options and cost of repair in this case adds insult to injury.

Apple has lost a long-term MBP owner / client.

  • Intend to upgrade HARD + SSD Macbook Pro drive end 2011

Hope you guys can help me with this simple question (if any):

I plan go my Macbook Pro 13 inch end of 2011 this system of 'double disc' using the current HARD drive and a new SSD. I use OS X El Capitan.
My plan is to take all my important files on the current 500 GB external HARD Drive USB drive and delete EVERYTHING ELSE. There is no problem.

Then I open the computer, remove the HARD drive and the optical drive. I'll replace it with my new MAIN hard drive SSD HARD drive and put the HARD drive in courses where the optical drive was (with an adapter to fit) to be a 'secondary drive' where I store my photos, movies, videos, etc.

When everything is back in place, my question is: if I turn on my MBP with cmd + R pushed down, the normal OS X Utilities screen will appear and I would like to reinstall OS X for this new SSD?

Why not let the operating system installed on the HARD disk, since that will give you a backup of boot problems disk? As long as you clear the Macintosh HD partition and not the HARD whole, the volume of recovery disk should remain intact and usable.

  • Trackpad and keyboard Macbook Pro problem

    Hello

It's been a few months that I have a problem with my Macbook Pro, indeed the trackpad doesn't work at all and the well-tempered clavier from time to time (duty to restart).

MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, end of 2013)

OS X El Captain version 10.11.5

I saw that Apple had released a patch pour these problems: this update is recommended pour MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, end 2013) models. It solves a problem of non-response of the keyboard and the trackpad multi-touch integrated.

But I can't install the update because it is no longer supported...

    Do you have a solution?

    Many thanks,

    Kind regards

  • 2 MagSafe charger or Macbook Pro problem

Hello! I recently bought a Macbook Pro of the retina (at the beginning of 2015) here in Singapore, with the prepackaged MagSafe 2 charger with it. I always charge my computer while using it, and usually, my uses are extremely lightweight.

Well, here's the problem... Yesterday, when I was about to plug my charger to my Macbook, I realized that there are very obvious stains in the Macbook port itself. Look at the head of the charger, it is not even and seems to have slightly burnt and melted.

I am still able to load and use my computer very well, but I fear that if this continues, this degrades quickly in the fire. My sister advised me to swap the Macbook Pro itself for a new one, which I suppose is possible through discoloration, but despite everything, is the Macbook Pro the problem? Reading the various forums online suggests that this is the problem with the MagSafe 2 magazine.

Please share some thoughts, thank you!

"Recently" may be in a period of Exchange or not.  Whatever it is, you have at least a 1 year warranty (AppleCare that extends to 3) and you must use to find the answer before it becomes more than a gene and damage the MBP.

  • Fuzzy screen of retina MacBook Pro problem

    Hello

My MacBook Pro (retina, mid-2012) recently had this issue on the screen:

Searched the Internet for similar cases, I think that this problem with the anti glare coating will get compensation as stated on https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/

But when I bring my Macbook to the Apple authorized service provider in my area, they said I have to wait this blurred more and more problem to be replaced. Can I help for this to feel really annoying because they appear to the center of the screen?

There is a test VST of pass/fail for the problem that is described in the link you posted.  This test has been run?  If so, what were the results?  If the test was not performed, it should be.

    Ciao.

I can not type anything more until a few minutes.

But if I ' press and hold ' even once, it freezes again.

    Someone had the same problem?

    Any fix for it?

  • Install new HD/SSD MacBook Pro Mid 2015

I would like to improve my storage capacity by installing a HD or SSD. I know the SSD is much faster, but they are much harder to find and more expensive and seem less store. My main question would be, how should I go about this? What should I exactly to look for when buying a drive? I'm on a MacBook Pro mid-2015 15 inches with the retina with the 500 GB hd

You need a PCIe flash drive.  Here is a link to some who seem to be compatible:

Understand the installation of any non - Apple SSD will void the warranty.

  • Battery in MacBook Pro problems

Old 15.4 inch MacBook Pro works for a long time with the AC adapter. I recently bought a new battery. First of all, it was green and orange flashing and sometimes say "battery not charging" but finally 100%.

MacBook, firm but both down with battery drive. It works as usual when it is connected to the power adapter. I have reset the Pram and SMC without effect. Any advice?

Try to run the Apple Hardware Test (use the #2 installation disk that has the AHT instructions written on this subject).  It may provide a clue.

Note that an error free AHT is inconclusive.
