Keep the partition to restore hidden for later use

Hi all

I have HP Envy M6-n012dx and it's to pre - install Windows 8. I see the partition recovery is named D: in my PC (and I don't know why it needs to be shown in my PC because it could easily be messed up).

I decreased my C drive and made two additional E and F partitions.

What I want to do now is to remove the recovery partition drive letter and rename my disks E and F in D and E respectively.

In this way, that my recovery partition should be hidden. More later if I want to fully recover my PC thanks to the recovery, I will assign a drive letter to this partition recovery. Will it work that way, or I'll just ruin my recovery?

In fact I don't want to do a test on it, because it would ruin my recovery. Also, I don't want to make recovery DVD/USB out of it because I want it to be preserved in my laptop.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hello

How can I delete a file on my iOS device that I downloaded from my iCloud? I just want to keep the Preview on my iOS device without using my storage iOS for the entire file. This means that the file is still in the iCloud and available to be downloaded to any device.

In practice, I want to be able to scan and download through my documents located in my iCloud and once I didn't need them on my iOS device I would like 'load their return to the cloud' to my storage of the iOS device is not used.

The only way I found to do that once a file has been downloaded is to remove it and add it again through either from Finder on Mac or iCloud.com.

  • Increase the Partition OS comments on Citrix VM using M: as OS partition

I have an interesting dilemma: I need to increase the partition of several Win2003 Citix VM operating system. I am fully aware of using a "helper" virtual machine to add the OS disk to the and then use diskpart to extend the partition.  However, our Citrix VM use the M: drive lettering for the partition to the OS instead of the default C: drive letters.  After I used my vm "helper" to extend the partition of the OS on the Citrix VM, I start the VM original Citrix and get the following message:

The logon User Interface DLL M:\windows\system32\ctxgina.dll failed to load.

It seems that the OS disk is returned to the default C: drive lettering when the disk is handed to the original VM Citrix.  As the map in the file ctxgina.dll is a path on the M: drive, he can obviously find it and so, logon is completely broken.

Question is to know how to extend the OS disk and keep the M: drive letters.  I believe that I can do this with converter, but wanted to see if anyone had any tips to make this work.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Best way to store instances of class (or at least their private data) in a file for later use?

I've been messing around with this concept for a few hours and have not yet found anything conclusive. I have a system where I want to store instances of a particular class (private data have a 2D array, a 1 d table, some Boolean values, numbers, and a set of strings.) for later use. The goal is to store a table of these classes for customization purposes. I've experimented with palette OpenG configuration file, especially the "read/write formatted article cluster", but I get some strange errors when I change around the private data and try to save the same instance. I thought using flatten XML vi and the wiring of the array of instances followed by reading in a table, but I anticipate similar problems. What other options are there? TDMS? A SQLite database? Should I do a few other split in the very basic types and combine them with the execution having read in? All suggestions/stories welcome.

LV classes are compatible with the Flatten to Unflatten from XML and XML functions. Have you ever tried this approach?

  • How can I format / erase a partition vmfs on the HARD drive for later use by windows?

    Hi all

I have a HARD drive to a virtual host formatted as a vmfs partition. I need to delete / erase this HARD drive vmfs partition because it will now be used in a Windows environment. Can someone explain please how can I remove vmfs partition so that it can be formatted in NTFS? Can be done in a Windows operating system like the current place of residence may have one easily accessible Linux or vmware?

    Thank you.

    vmTrekker

Windows should be able to reformat a VMFS partition in the GUI. If this isn't the case, you can run the diskpart utility and erase the partition table on the disk.

  • Little extra fun to the point of restoration scheduled for each new installtion of hardware or software

As I put my machine to sleep more often than its reboot. I noticed that I don't have many restore points. I also noticed that I do not get one restore point with new facilities I thought default configuration.

More I don't seem to find a guide to configure manually. So I have to be careful not to forget to do manual restore point before the development of hardware and/or software.

Am I missing something or there is no help on this particular but many needed configuration.

If there is one, I'd be grateful for a link. I don't want to spend time on each step by trial and error.

    Thank you.

    Hi Babak,

I apologize for my late reply.

The old restore points are deleted automatically depending on the space available for the feature. This means that it is only possible to restore the latter States of the system.

I suggest you to check if the system restore points are available in the System Volume Information folder.

Please try the following steps to view the folder and give permission for it.

Step 1. View the System Volume Information folder.

    1. Go to computer > C:\ (or your root directory).
    2. Click schedule in the navigation above.
    3. Click on folder and search options and go to the display tab.
    4. Click on the radio button Show hidden files folders and files.
    5. Uncheck the option that hide (recommended) operating system protected files.
    6. Click OK.

Step 2. Grant permissions in the folder System Volume Information.

On the C:\ drive, you will now be able to see the System Volume Information folder.

    1. Right-click on the System Volume Information folder.
    2. Click on Properties.
    3. Go to the Security tab and click Edit.
    4. Click on Add.
    5. Type everyone in the space to enter names.
    6. Click check names , and then click OK.
    7. Checkbox control in the list of permissions for all the world.
    8. Click apply and then click continue on each pop-up you receive later.
    9. Click OK.

Hide the folder again by check marking the option that hide (recommended) operating system protected files in step 1.

Now open the folder and check how many restore points are available. System restore use cryptic names. The best way to identify them is to look at the date they were created or modified. Choose the ones you want to back up. It is recommended to copy the system restore points somewhere else.

Now, you can restore the changes made in the system restore folder and the visibility of the folder. If you want to restore a previously saved to system restore point, you must copy it to this folder to be able to do.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need more help, we will be happy to help you.

  • Win Vista Business 32-bit SP2 running: How can I get IE 8 to keep the user ID and PG for the sites?

I'm under IE 8.0.6001.19019, with privileges for the Admin user, and I was not abe to understand why, unlike my other portable installation Win 7 SP1, as IE 8, I can't get the system to keep the user (not to mention passwords) ID I enter the website screens, for example: as my web Yahoo email account.  I have been through all the IE Tools / Internet options screens to see what I can and can't seem to find something there.

    Any thoughts?

Block you cookies by moving the slider on the Privacy tab to the top or to a site from the list which is accessed through the Sites button. If this isn't your problem.

If I remember well AVG Free scan deletes the cookies in a default scan. But it should be limited to tracking cookies.

I'm not familiar with HotSpot Shield.

You run like CCleaner cleaning software that deletes cookies?

Apart from that, I am ideas. You could try to run without addons (type Internet Explorer in the area start search and select the no addons version) and see if this behavior persists.

Just to clarify, the data is available if you navigate away from the site, then come back to open a session? Or is it only after close Internet explore and restart?

  • What is the best way to keep the high resolution when recording "for the web".

the files that I save to the web so I can get them in jpg (or gif) are coming very pixelated.  That's when I print the image.

What is the best way to save for the web, an image and keep the good resolution.

using a business card template.  template Avery will allow me to attach images I want to project.  to do this...  I 'get file computer' and it deletes the image in but real little... then you are supposed to expand on your work as you want.  Well, when I enlarge this image file, it gets pixelated bad.  I think it's the way that I am saving it.  I do not adjust anything when I save.  Maybe I should.  This is where I need advice.

That's what avery model notes on the images, I am allowed to use - when downloading the image, the maximum allowed size is 4 MB.  You can download the JPG and PNG RGB or CMYK images.  so when you recommend things, can you please take this into account

    Thanks for oyur times.

    Aida,.

When you register with the default template using save for web, it's usually a setting very low.

While in the registration window, you can set the size in pixels of the image you want with the quality and the resolution too.

Refer to video tv.adobe.com save for web or Adobe Help file for detailed instructions.

Yes, you must use the black plastic support and store nozzles downwards.  Launch the band once it is deleted, if you try to reapply the tape will be misssing of color (or in the case of the #99 cartridge, black mix grey) which will ruin the cartridge.

  • Not possible to choose the partition to restore Vista CD installation

    Hello!

Is there a normal way to install VHP on my laptop? It is quite annoyng, that the only way to install vista recovery dvd is to choose the size of the destination partition and to break all other partitions present on the disk during installation. Or maybe I'm wrong?

If this is the only way, so maybe it's possible to get an installation normal dvd with Vista Home Premium? When you buy a laptop, I had no idea that the normal user are treated that way... like some being thoughtless. As for now, I can only say, that I bought with my knees some useless peace of software rather than an operating system...

    Kind regards.

You're right orzech. The Vista recovery CD erase the drive HARD whole during the recovery procedure.
But as already posted in another thread, you must know that the recovery CD is designed to put the computer laptop back to factory settings!
    What are the factory settings?
The laptop came with preinstalled operating system and drivers Toshiba, utility tools.
So you get this laptop State even after using the recovery CD!

    > If it's the only way, then maybe it's possible to get a normal installation DVD with Vista Home Premium
You could buy an original CD of Microsoft Vista and could use this operating system for the installation of the laptop.
Pilots should be available on the Toshiba site.

By the way; the original CD of Microsoft Vista supports a backup data option.
Vista allows you to create a backup of the system. If something goes wrong, you will be able to boot from the Vista CD and can select the created backup files to restore the operating system
