Key of Activation Windows 8 Pro questions

I recently bought a new computer with Windows 8 on it.  I then bought a copy of Windows 8 Pro and tried retail upgraded.

In the middle of the upgrade, I have accidentally hit the power switch on my switch and my computer off.  When I tried to finish the Windows 8 Pro upgrade it would not allow me, saying that my CD key was already in use.

I reformatted and installed Windows 8 Pro successfully, but now it says my activation key for Windows 8 Pro does not work.

What should I do?

1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

2. then press the ENTER"" key.

3. Select your "country" in the list.

4. choose the option "activate phone".

5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

If you have access to Microsoft Action Pack, which is provided by Tech Net, you should be able to download Windows 7 Professional as one. ISO and initialize it either on an empty cursor from DVD or USB drive and install it.

    Prepare the. ISO installation file.

See the instructions for burning. ISO in Windows 7 or later files:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/burn-a-CD-or-DVD-from-an-ISO-file

You can also use the Microsoft USB/DVD tool, which is recommended for users of Windows XP.

After graduating the .iso file, you use the Microsoft .iso to USB/DVD tool to create a bootable DVD or USB (requires a blank DVD or USB flash to at least 4 GB key).

  • Problem activating Windows XP Pro on a Dell Dimension 4600, which originally had XP Home

I have some difficulty to activate MY PERSONALLY PURCHASED VERSION of Windows XP Pro on a Dell Dimension 4600 workstation that initially provided with XP Home.  I have TWO Codes of 25 character key true = 1 The printed on the sticker on the computer AND the one supplied with the disk I bought for my laptop that was stolen last week.  I entered two key during the windows process codes activate and they the system tells me invalid or incorrect product key code.  I WAS talking with a Microsoft Tech Rep on the phone trying to solve this problem and has been disconnected when put on "Hold" and now cannot get through to a real person again.  CAN SOMEONE ' ONE/SOMEONE' HELP ME PLEASE?

    Hello

Both your XP, the laptop and the Dell operating systems will have been oem licenses. OEM licenses are tied to the computer that they were originally installed on. In regards to the Pro license you can see in your report where is says Windows license Type: OEM System Builder.

The only XP version that can be legally charged to your Dimension is one that has been provided with it by Dell, i.e. the XP Home license.

activation of character for home 25 codes do not work with the Pro, the reverse is also true.

  • Need product key for downloaded Windows XP Pro x 64 trial

I downloaded the trial version of Windows XP Pro x 64 recently, but I can't install it without a product key. Where can I buy a product key?

I guess that Microsoft abandoned this program (if it exist). Bottom line is that you can not get a trial key. I'm sorry.

  • Is it possible to find my serial number of the equipment of a key of Activation Windows?

My wife had a netbook flew at her high school.  She has a record of the key of Activation of Windows that has been used to upgrade this machine Windows 7 Starter to Windows 7 Home Premium.  Unfortunately, she doesn't have a record of the serial number of this unit.  Apparently, this step is not respected a year ago, when the netbook was acquired.  We have the model number and a small range of possible serial numbers, collected from other netbooks that were purchased at the same time.

A student is suspected in the theft, as it has a similar netbook and asked another student to help him wipe the drive and reinstall everything.
Is it possible to get a serial number of machine or a MAC address for this computer to Microsoft?

The product key for the existing installation can be retrieved (if it is still installed) using Belarc Advisor www.belarc.com

If the key is the same as that of proof of license woman of your, then the machine is his :) - keys for the updates are unique.

Depending on how you purchased the machine, the manufacturer may have a record of the serial number of your machine in their database of guarantee (if you entered the guarantee!)

MS does NOT record that the key belongs to who - registration and activation databases are kept on different servers specifically to prevent the ' contamination '.

  • Can I use a Windows XP Home Edition OEM key to install Windows Xp Pro?

Reinstalling windows on a laptop computer in the format

I'm reinstalling windows on the laptop of a friend that she sold to a person.  It has formatted and deleted all partitions (which I think included his info hidden windows), but could not find his CD to reinstall windows (she believes that she did not have a when she got the device, and I am inclined to think that the 'cd' was an image on a hidden partition).

I have mine, but the product key on the bottom of the laptop does not work with my cd (he says it's an invalid code).  What I have to use old CDs to install windows or can I use another?  I just noticed that my cd is Windows XP Pro, and its key is Windows XP Home Edition.  Who count?  And if so, is it possible to get a new installation cd?

Thank you very much in advance.

    Or the other

    (1) (preferably) order a set of manufacturer's recovery disc and reinstall the system using htem

    or

    (2) borrow a disc retail Windows of the same edition of a friend (the manufacturer NOT another recovery disc!) and use it for installation - you will then have to track down the appropriate/required drivers and install them. - and use the key from the COA of the sticker on the laptop to turn it on.

  • The upgrade from XP - Pro 32-bit to Windows 7 Pro questions

I'm working on a T3400 precision with XP Professional. I believe that when it was purchased in January 2010, it's a PC running Windows 7 Pro and he ordered with an installed XP Professional downgrade. The sticker on the Tower Microsoft says Windows 7 Pro.

In any case, it is on the "Compatible with Windows 7" list of Dell, but I'm under Windows 7 Upgrade advisor to check that there is no problem. (It worked for at least 3 hours now...) We did no change of material from the purchase - just different programs.

I read the guide from Microsoft for the upgrade & I understand I have to perform a custom Setup out of the upgrade disc. Which means reinstalling all my programs. Which is a pain but nothing I can't handle most of my programs. Except that I am concerned about programs that was already installed on the PC by Dell. Namely my Adobe Acrobat & Microsoft Office 2007 programs. Did I lose those? Or I'll be able to download & reinstall the wrench off the Microsoft sticker on my tour?

We have not bought a disc yet. I guess that we need Windows 7 Pro upgrade disc. Anything else I should know?

In the United States, you can request a Dell installation disk:

    support.Dell.com/.../backupcd_form

Alternatively, you can also install using retail media, then activate by phone from Microsoft (not Dell) using the product on your COA key:

    www.heidoc.NET/.../14-Windows-7-direct-download-links

In regards to Adobe and office... you should have received license for those cards.  If you have lost, you can probably recover with Magic Jelly Bean or similar, get support for retail, then activate using the keys.

  • Looking to update a MAK active Windows 7 Pro Ultimate key...

My boss currently remotes in towards a Windows 7 Professional Hyper-V machine. It has been activated with a key of type "MAK". However, he wants to use multiple monitors with its installation, which cannot be achieved with Ultimate. Since I am new to the virtuilization and the MAK-type keys, I thought that we could use a copy of the ultimate OEM and do the upgrade. Problem is its OS is missing, Windows Anytime Upgrade, and the installer wants me to to make an 'upgrade' of instillation.  I tried to disable the object in GPEdit, which disables WAU, but it did not help.

I guess my question is, does an upgrade is even possible in the way that we are trying to do? Is there something I'm missing here? Am I'll have to do a fresh install?

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, you need a new custom installation. You can do the upgrades with OEM licenses.

  • Downgrade the license key to install Windows XP Pro image

    Hello

I bought 4 desktops additional whitebox from my provider. He said they can't get licenses of Windows 7 and I have them for us. We have a Windows SBS domain with about 60 workstations XP Pro. The new jobs all have the same Mo as some previous purchases and we 'pictures' for these machines on our network. I often have to change on a workstation with the other due to software or other issues, so for now, I don't want Windows 7 on a machine that I have to train someone on if I have to spend on their machine.

How I can or I can 'image' machines with XP Pro and use Windows 7 key to activate the operating system?

I don't want to go through the process of installing Windows 7 on all these machines and I then have to do the downgrade to XP on each. And if I have to 'image' of this box of I need now another "image" of Windows 7?

And finally, if I'm having to go through these hoops, do I need a XP Pro license key for the downgrade after inserting the XP Pro CD on the Windows 7 machine?

    Thanks for your help.

    Hello DoubleAce,

Microsoft offers rights to downgrade you can have a look through the following links:

  • Can I get my key of Activation Windows 7 use count reset?

I often re - install Windows 7 I have main regularly updated my system / re install so that a new installation (much faster)... Unfortunately, I recently started to get an error code saying I used my key too many times... I called Microsoft Customer support and after 2 hours juggled back from a Ministry to and being hung up, I finally got someone who could help... They did a phone activation and everything works now... The only problem being that I'll have to go through that * every time that I try to reinstall windows in the future... Is it possible to get my CD key discount or I'm just going to break my legitimate OS in the future when I re format my system (that I will not to put up with the customer service given by Microsoft).

If you make major changes such as changing the hard drive or motherboard will require relocation and reactivation every time.

My recommendation is to create a system image now of your activated installation.

So when you decide to make such changes only to reinstall Windows 7 or to change the key components, restore the image.

  • How to get the key of Activation Windows 7 (Vista upgrade)

I just replaced a broken in my Dell Inspiron HARD drive.
Initially, it came with Vista Home Premium as the operating system standard. The product key to which is attached to the base of the laptop.
I've upgraded to Windows 7 in the middle of the year last using a purchased upgrade DVD, it used the existing prouct key to run as much as I can make out.
Everything was fine and everything worked well and saved OK.

I replaced the HARD drive and subsequently had to reinstall Vista from DVD, the recovery once that has been completed I reinstalled Windows 7 from the DVD upgrade. Its now ask the activation key for Windows 7. The vista it won't work (as it is a Vista one). I don't have a key to windows 7 I had a DVD upgrade.

I think I must have missed the activation step when I reinstalled Vista and before you reinstall 7, is it possible to sort without having to buy a new copy of 7? Should I go back to Vista and enable that first, then reinstall 7?

    Any suggestions?

    TIA

Not good, I don't remember come with a key in the back of a case of cd cover. I would have kept it safe until he did! It was not a d/l, so no info in this way.

However I managed to find a small program that retrieves the registry keys. It will also find them in the old registry if you point to the correct folder on an external HARD drive. I should have said it does not appear that the portion of the BONE of the drive that broke the other files and folders are almost always intact and accessible.

I am now running properly, now fix itunes!

    Thanks for your help anyway.
