keyboard keys not working not

Hello
For about 2 months now, some keys on my keyboard stopped working (0) (-), (=), ([]), (p), (, ('), (/), (the left and right 'arrows') and (the "delete key"), (previous page), (next page), (late), (the House), which could be the reason?) I'd like some comments please. I tried the keyboard oinline Tester and these keys appear as well. I bought the laptop towards the end of September 2013 and my warranty has expired this year.

Hi mimi28,

I doubt that your upgrade to Windows 8.1 has had an effect on the keyboard your model is compatible with Windows 8.1 and drivers are available.

You can replace the keyboard yourself. You should be able to order the part from HP Partsurfer, you will find the product number that you posted in your first post.

Here is Service and Maintenance Guide for your model and page 53 you will find instructions on how to remove the keyboard.

    > Is there something to do with the bios for this problem?
    BIOS? Why ORGANIC?
I assume that the problem of its equipment and you will have to replace the internal keyboard.

Just to confirm the problem with keyboard: you can connect external USB keyboard.
In case the external keyboard would work correctly, the problem is related to the internal keyboard.

  • Satellite A105-S4254: several keyboard keys stop working after startup

    Hey

I have a laptop A105-S4254, which is less than a year.
When I boot it upward a few minutes most of the keys stopped working.
The F keys will however continue to work.
I can laugh with the brightness and activate / disable the num lock and scroll but I can't type.

A number of key just freeze.
When I reboot the keys work for a few minutes and then stop working again.

Please help me with suggestions and solutions.
    Thanx

    Hello

For me, it looks like a hardware problem. Maybe it s the keyboard or keyboard controller itself.
But first, you must be sure that this failure was not due to a software problem.
Therefore, it would be desirable to update the system and install the OS from the Toshiba Recovery CD.

If the keyboard problem appears again, I'd recommend contacting the ASP in your country to control the laptop.

It seems that the guarantee could be valid for all replacements must be done for free.

When playing a CD or DVD in the computer I can not fast forward or backward quickly with the mouse or the keyboard.  The only way I can do this is to point the mouse on the cursor button, by clicking on it and dragging one way or the other.  Download the new version of IntelliType made no difference.  As far as I know, the other keys work OK on this keyboard, although I don't know how to test it, or if there is software to run such a test.

I really need a solution because it would be so much easier to keep my hands on the keyboard when I voice transcription of CD work with, rather than having to grab the mouse every bit.  The pause button and play on the keyboard works, so I use it a lot, but often need to regress, then forward, etc.

Any clues on what I can do?

    I don't know no incompatibility

    Hello

If you are referring to the keyboard with the 5 favourite keys at the top, then the two buttons to the right of the stop button are to go to the previous titles and instead of fast forward/backward.

Also, try the keyboard with another computer and check.

    Hope this information is useful.

In addition, it could be a problem with the keyboard driver.  See the article following some information/troubleshooting for your question:

  • Keyboard key issues

I have a laptop (DV6206us) and recently started having some keyboard key issues. For example G, H, BACKSPACE, scroll keys and some other don't type/work in a hurry. The keyboard itself has had a cover transparent latex that I installed the keys because I bought it to protect from spills, dust, etc... After taking a closer look, I noticed that if I press a certain area/s around the keyboard keys are working. But as soon as I release the pressure of the particular region the keys stop working.

This is an easy fix? Something I can do myself? If this is not the case, what would be the approximate cost for the repair or replacement of the keyboard?

I suspect that my son (15mos) is at fault. I have a few times caught using my laptop as a step back bag, while the laptop was in the bag. The backpack offers a padding on all sides. But I think that the pressure of him standing / use it as a step caused the keyboard key issues.

The problem has been resolved with just open up the laptop and fixing the connector loose keyboard cable I found.

After the upgrade to El Capitan 10.11.5 shift, Alt and command of my keyboard keys started to act arbitrarily, they are suspended and do not work properly (I already tried several keyboards and is not Firefox or Chrome). Start safe mode and see if there are still have the problem there. Safe mode is slow and some things do not work, but it prevents some third-party boot loading software. If your keyboard works properly in Mode without fail, this would imply that some third-party software is causing the problem. If so, check the updates.

It also takes more time to start because the BONE is clean some system caches that can also help.

Key on the keyboard does not work in firefox box when you type in the web site, but it works everywhere else?

Try Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there.

A way of solving problems, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open the mode without failure of Firefox 4.0 + by pressing the SHIFT key when you use the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or use the Help menu option, click restart with the disabled... modules while Firefox is running.

Do not choose anything at the moment, just use 'continue in safe mode.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the shortcut of Firefox (without the Shift key) to open it again.

If it's good in Firefox Safe mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one.

  • Some keyboard keys do not work on my Qosmio F60

    Hello

I've had my laptop for 2 years now and never had any problems before but recently some of the keys on my laptop keyboard do not work as the fn key, i, e, r, t, y, u, i, o, = etc. Currently I use an external keyboard to overcome this problem. I did a complete reinstall but problem still persits.
Can you please perhaps where the problem is. It's very confusing that some keys work well, but some are not.

    Kind regards

    > Can you please suggest where the problem is maybe.
In my opinion the problem is faulty keyboard. As you can see full OS reinstallation didn't change anything. It must be junk hardware.

Sorry, but I think that the keyboard needs to be replaced.
