  I already have shortcuts to Volgistics and Facebook on my desktop when I've recently updated to Firefox 17. Since the update, these shortcuts directly from these programs to Word 2007, which opens the program read-only in Word 2007. I can, however, connect with a program by ignoring the shortcut manually by typing in its url.

  If you open internet files in Firefox in an external program, then the files are uploaded in the folder read-only folder.
  
  Read-only for these files is a precaution to prevent dataloss because it is not guaranteed to keep the files in the folder if you close the application and return to Firefox.

• Unwanted search pane in Word (Windows7, Office 2007), keyboard and then acting weird, unpredictable, F1 key and then does not work. Office 2003 has been removed before installing Office 2007 and Word 2007 seemed ok before that.

  While typing in a Word Windows7 (new office 2007) doc I suddenly get the stream to the right of the screen, not asked for.  Go to the revision, Proofing tab shows the space search button highlighted (never selected by me);  my keyboard (Microsoft!) and then crashes and behaves strangely and I can't seem to do anything. I can't find a way to remove or to move from this unwanted intrusion with the exception of the stop and restart, but it happened again and again.  Got a 3000 Word report to write, going crazy now.  No joy with the help online - in fact the F1 button stops working during these "tricks".  Someone at - it similar problems, or ideas where to go from here?  The most appreciated

• 'Save as image' in Word 2007

  In most Microsoft Office applications, you can click on the image and choose "Save image as" to save this image to your hard drive. I can't find this option in Word 2007. Someone knows how to do? Only thing I know is to copy the image to the Clipboard, paste into other Office 2007 application (Excel, etc.), then make a right click and 'Save as image '...

  Thank you for your message.  Unfortunately, this option is not available.  You will need to copy the picture and paste it in another program such as paint.  I studied all the hotkeys as well.  Very interesting.

  Thus, for example, "command + x + y" would paste expression 1... and 'Ctrl + x + y' would paste the sentence 2.

  There are third party tools that better, and there is a way to do what you want within the OS, but it would be a bit heavy.

  A simpler solution would be to use the text replacement feature. Add an alternative text for each sentence. You can use the first letter of each word as the thing that you type for the expression is complete.

  Text replacements are in system preferences of keyboard on the tab text.

  For example, you can use qbf to replace word for The Quick Brown Fox jumped over the lazy dog. When you enter qbf, it might get replaced by the sentence.

• Keyboard shortcuts do not work in Firefox on Mac OS 10.7.2 9.0.1

  I just bought a new MacBook Air with Mac OS Lion for the first time. No keyboard shortcut does work in Firefox 9.0.1 with a new facility. Command-T or W or N CXZ - none of them do anything. They have all the flash of the appropriate menu bar (so the Word file menu flashes when I press Cmd - T) but nothing happens.

  If I start by opening the menu and press the shortcut, it works.

  Sorry, my fault. I use a program called ukulele to create a custom layout that matches my physical keyboard. It seems lion it causes some side effects in different programs - this is the more remarkable in Firefox and Thunderbird. I returned to the standard input and everything works.

  There is an option in Word 2007 that controls that:

  Click on the Office button > Word options > Advanced > editing options > use the Insert to overtype mode control key.

• After that 13/08/09 update, Word 2007 will not open files

  This morning, my Vista Ultimate computer had restarted after the installation of updates.  Now, I can't open attachments to emails or Windows Exploere Word 2007 documents.  Also, I can't get an insertion point to work within an open document.  I can use the keys on the keyboard such as Tab to navigate, but not my mouse.  I threw a few batteries perfectly well when it happened first, thinking it was that, but my mouse works in other programs now except Word.

  Word 2007 Enterprise can always open a document, if I first open Word and go to the list of recent files.  But I can't use my mouse.

  If I try to open the exact some files from Windows Explorer, it does nothing.

  I already checked the file associations and ensured that any attached Word ran by looking in the Task Manager.

  There is no problem at all before these updates.

  I just found out that the audio Beats is in conflict with a common keyboard shortcut in Microsoft Office, and I can't find a way to turn it off or reassign in the controls of beats.   Specifically, CTRL + MAJ + leftanglebracket, which reduced the size of the text in Word and PowerPoint, is used to turn the beats on and off.   I use this shortcut in PowerPoint all the time, and if the beat does not provide a way around, I'll be forced to disable or uninstall the audio Beats.  Anyone know how I can get around this?

  Run the Office Diagnostics utility
  In Word, click the Office logo in the top left, and then click Word Options. In the section resources, run Microsoft Office Diagnostics by clicking on diagnose. Follow the instructions in the wizard.

  If you still get the same appearance even after diagnosis, test opening Office in safe mode and post your results:
  To open Word in safe mode, press the Windows key + R on your keyboard, the program will open, type the following command and press ok:
  WINWORD.exe/Safe Rami
