Kindle keyboard causes error on blue screen of Windows 7
Monday, July 23, 2012, I bought two books on Amazon.com for my Kindle, selected the option "transfer via USB," tie my Kindle to the computer and transfer books him without any problem.
Wednesday, July 25, 2012, I have attached my Kindle on my computer, and as soon as the Kindle under tension, it caused my computer to run a crash 'blue screen '. I checked to make sure my Windows software is up to date and that was the case, so I tried again to connect to my Kindle, and it's the same thing.
Two of these attempts, the Kindle is 'on' but 'asleep', so I tried to turn off the Kindle completely and then to the computer. Once more, I got the "Blue screen" error and crash.
I'm still able to attach an external hard drive Seagate as a Lexar USB FlashDrive to my computer with no problems. Only the Kindle's envelope the problem.
My computer is as follows:
- HP EliteBook p 8460, running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, Service Pack 1
- Intel® Core® i7 - 2640M (2.80 GHz, 4 MB L3 cache) processor
- Chipset mobile Intel QM67 Express
My Kindle is:
- Kindle keyboard, software version 3.3
Updates to Windows that have been added to my computer from the time wherever I could connect my Kindle with success and time which I started getting the "Blue screen" errors are:
- Windows Defender Update KB915597 (definition 1.131.548.0) 24/07/2012
- Fix for Windows (KB2397190) 25/07/2012
- Fix for Windows (KB2482122) 25/07/2012
- Fix for Windows (KB2505454) 25/07/2012
- Fix for Windows (KB2551127) 25/07/2012
- Fix for Windows (KB2615592) 25/07/2012
- Fix for Windows (KB2621419) 25/07/2012
I posted this problem on Amazon Kindle Help Forum yesterday, and they suggested I have ask Microsoft about it.
No one here knows anything about this problem and how I should go to try to fix it?
So while that not directly responsible, your Acronis drivers (snapman.sys) are mentioned in the stack of each BSOD event trace - and third party drivers only 3 are mentioned.
Therefore, please uninstall the software Acronis of your system and see if that stops the BSOD.
Bluetooth mouse drivers are from 2009, please update.
Infineon Personal Secure Drive driver dating 2009 also, please update.
As a point to the FAT file system - memory images I would say running CHKDSK /r /f from a prompt (run as administrator) on your F: drive (the drive HP tools is FAT32) and your Kindle (I'm not sure of the file system used by the Kindle - but it does not seem to be involved in accidents)
More information about the error STOP 0 x 23 here: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x00000023 in particular, please see the section of usual Causes.
Finally, please run diagnostics of hard disk on your drives. There is a free test list here: http://www.carrona.org/hddiag.html
Driver Verifier is probably not needed here - that the errors do not point to the type of memory dump this key usually Driver Verifier. If the BSOD continues after completing the steps above - we may have to reconsider, but don't need immediately.

Unable to boot error on blue screen vista window
Hello
I use windows vista sp2 on the computer and am unable to initialize properly. I am at a loss for what to do.
That's what happened. My computer became infected with a nasty virus, so I tried to boot into safe mode. However, I got a blue screen with an error message that says:
"A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS HAS SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER."
IF IT IS THE FIRST TIME YOU'VE SEEN THIS ERROR SCREEN RESTART YOUR
COMPUTER. IF THIS SCREEN APPEARS AGAIN FOLLOW THESE STEPS:CHECK FOR VIRUSES ON YOUR COMPUTER. REMOVE ANY NEWLY INSTALLED HARD DRIVES OR HARD DRIVE CONTROLLERS. CHECK YOUR HARD DRIVE TO ENSURE IT IS PROPERLY CONFIGURED AND COMPLETED. RUN CHKDSK /F TO CHECK FOR HARD DRIVE CORRUPTION, AND THEN RESTART YOUR COMPUTER.
"I want to reformat my computer for Window XP, but after installation of window will display this error and once I started my pc this error appears again...". PLS help... Thank you...
jpaul08,
If your system has been infected then the best thing to do is to format the HD ANS reinstall factory default. According to the PC that you have, you must have a recovery partition or the recovery disk (most use partitions these days). When start you on the recovery media factory be sure to only select the 'Factory Restore' which will erase the disk and reload the operating system. The only way that you can switch from Vista to XP is now if the recovery media XP or you own a valid copy of XP retail. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

Question: I experience the infamous BSOD accompanied by "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED" on Windows 8, when I wake up my laptop Dell Studio 1558 from the standby mode or when I disconnect the power cord of the charger. This error message is sometimes followed "(atikmdag.sys)."
Context: I bought my laptop (Dell Studio 1558) directly from Dell.com about two years ago. It comes with Windows 7. I have upgraded to Windows 8 (not a clean install). I then did a clean install of it when I saw the above question, although it did not fix anything. I don't have a similar such problem when I was running Windows 7.
What I did:
- Has undergone a new installation of Windows 8
- The latest version of BIOS provided by the Dell Web site
- Installed the latest versions of all the drivers from the Dell website (Windows 8 shows no missing or peripheral drivers in Device Manager unknown)
XML file of historical reliability (Hosted on MediaFire): http://www.mediafire.com/view/?ykk5k1nkfckdf99 <-- (if="" this="" helps="" diagnose="" any="">-->
I have very little technical experience. If there is additional information, I can give you which could be useful, please let me know. I look forward to your ideas.
HA! And once again, with only a few hours of difficult things, I solved the problem myself. Provided by Dell.com video card driver is not the latest version - actually, it's a very generic version, which seems to have caused my BSOD problems.
Given that the BSOD, sometimes accompanied the text, "(atikmdag.sys)", I googled the phrase and discovered Member that it's related to something like a core of AMD (shrug).
Given that this seems to be video related to the card, I went back to the files-> computer (right click-> properties)-> the Device Manager and re-checked my video card driver. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, any driver I downloaded was something of very generic - it wasn't AMD for some reason any. So, I just clicked it and updated the driver. This update solves the problem, and I am now updating the driver to the latest version directly provided by AMD.
I hope this helps others with the same question. Thanks for your point of view.

my computer turns off, no code error, no blue screen
my computer restarts auto no code error, no blue screen, it might be the drivers that I have installed or? What can I do to solve this problem or found out how to solve this problem
Hello Shelly,
Drivers could easily be the cause - or it could be quite a few other things.
I recommend a restore of the system to a restore point before you did what you did (when it was working fine). If you use Windows 7, seehttp://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html. If you are using Vista, seehttp://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-system-restore/. If you are using XP, seehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084. Sometimes this simple process made the rounds and sometimes that doesn't help - but it is easy and worth if she has recently begun.
Good luck!

Hello jvecc,.
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers community.
This problem is caused by a defective unit or a device driver. Visit the website of the manufacturer of your computer or see if AMd drivers directly will work for your hardware configuration and then uninstall and reinstall your drivers.

Adding RAM causes freeze or blue screen. RAM works well with Win XP
I upgraded from Win XP to Win 7. I had problems with the installation so I removed all non-essential equipment and was able to complete the installation. When I add more RAM, I had emoved (two DIMMs of 512 MB) to the current 1 GB DIMM, Win 7 either freezes or I get a blue screen after boot up (it does not boot up to the desktop computer). Even RAM works very well with my old XP OS (I did a disk clone before moving to Win 7). The card motherboard BIOS is up to date (according to eSupport) and DIMMs are the same characteristics (a 1 GB DIMM and two 512 MB DIMMS for a total of 2 GB). Windows 7 works very well with just the 1 GB DIMM in memory 1 of 3 location, but any combination of causes freeze or blue screen. Is there something on the way Windows 7 manages RAM which is causing the problem? If so, is there something I can do to solve the problem?
try running Memtest86 +, which runs from a floppy disk or CD and should eliminate or
confirm whether your one or more of your sticks of memory are bad or the values of the SPD in the BIOS are correct.
Let it run for as long as you can: 2,4,6,8 or several hours, so no errors at that time then your ram is OK.

-1 setting of the bug check is 411 indicating a page table entry (PTE) was damaged.
I suspect a 3rd driver causing corruption.
-----------------------
1. uninstall your Netgear Wireless Solution software, it is unnecessary and dated for almost 8 years ago.
2 Please also also uninstall your software Check Point, of course, a virtual card. Device drivers are 7 years old.
3 if accidents continue after both of foregoing, please activate the driver verifier:
Driver Verifier:
What is the driver verifier?
Driver Verifier monitors Windows kernel-mode drivers, drivers graphics and even 3rd party drivers to detect function calls illegal or actions that could corrupt the system. Driver verifier may submit Windows drivers to a variety of constraints and testing to find the incorrect behavior.
Essentially, if there is a 3rd driver party supposed to be originally the issues at hand, enabling Driver Verifier will help us see which specific driver is causing the problem.
Before you enable Driver Verifier, it is recommended to create a System Restore Point:
Vista - START | type rstrui - create a restore point
Windows 7 - START | type create | Select "create a Restore Point.
Windows 8/8.1 - http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/4690-restore-point-create-windows-8-a.htmlHow to enable the driver verifier:
Start > type "auditor" without quotes > select the following options.
1. select - 'create a custom settings (for code developers).
2 select - "choose custom a complete list settings.
3 check the following boxes.
-Special pool
-Pool management
-Force IRQL control
-Detection of blockages
-Security Checks (only on Windows 7 & 8/8.1)
-DDI compliance verification (only on Windows 8/8.1)
-Cheques
4 select - "select the driver names from a list.
5 click the 'supplier '. This will cause the sorting of all drivers by the provider.
6 check EACH box that is NOT provided by Microsoft / Microsoft Corporation.
7 click Finish.
8 restart.Important information about driver verifier:
-Perhaps the most important which I now make it clear that it was bad often, activation of the Verifier itself is not! a solution, but rather a diagnostic utility. He'll tell us if a driver is causing your problems, but even once it will not solve your problems purely and simply.-If the Driver Verifier finds a violation, the system will search BSOD. To expand on that a bit more for those interested, more precisely what driver verifier actually does is he's looking for any driver to perform illegal function calls, causing leaks memory, etc.. When and / in this case, the corruption of the system occurs if allowed to continue. When Driver Verifier is enabled by my instructions above, it is followed all pilots 3rd part (as we have defined it this way) and when he catches a pilot tries to do, it will be quickly mark this driver as being a troublemaker and bring down the system safely above all corruption may occur.
-After activation of the Verifier and rebooting the system, according to the culprit, if for example, the driver is started, you may not return to normal Windows because Driver Verifier detects in violation almost right away, and as noted above, which will cause / force a BSOD.
In this case, do not panic, follow these steps:
-Start in Safe Mode by pressing repeatedly F8 key during boot to the top.
-Once in Mode safe - start > Search > type "cmd" without the quotes.
-To disable the Driver Verifier feature, type cmd ' auditor/Reset"without the quotes.
-Reboot and start Windows normally.
If your OS has become corrupt or you cannot start Windows after you disable the auditor through Safe Mode:
-Start in Safe Mode by pressing repeatedly F8 key during boot to the top.
-Once in Mode safe - start > type "System Restore" without the quotes.
-Select the previously created restore point.
-Note that Safe Mode for Windows 8/8.1 is a little different, and you may need to try different methods: 5 ways to boot into Safe Mode on Windows 8 and Windows 8.1
How long can I keep the compatible driver verifier for?
I recommend keeping it activated for at least 24 hours. If you do not BSOD right there, turn off Driver Verifier. Usually, I say if, yes or no, I would like for you to keep active longer.
My system BSODS with enabled, driver verifier where I can find the crash dumps?
-If you have the system planned to generate small images of memory, they are in the %systemroot%\Minidump.
-If you have the system planned to generate images of the kernel memory, it will be located in the % systemroot % Directory and labeled MEMORY. DMP.

Update Windows xp caused my computer blue screen and now will not start. There has been no change to my system hardware or software otherwise. After that windows update Setup, he asked to restart the computer. When restarted, the computer screens and past blue to the quick menu for safe mode and last known configuration to work. None of these mode of work, not to shelter or otherwise. The only thing that he will now implementing market is quickly flashing the blue screen and restart once again to this quick menu.
It's really annoying because I have important files on this computer work and can't afford to get in shape! I put my confidence in using windows and keep it updated. During the installation of your updates, it made my system fails and does not restart. I'll be very upset if this update of windows xp causes me to have to reformat and lose important files!
Any advice on a solution? I need to get this computer work as soon as POSSIBLE.

I ordered the Dell XP disc and did the re-install. It works fine now. The Dell technical support had me do some updates on the web as well. I have not had problems since. What happened with the automatic updates completely wiped out my operating system. At least I don't have to buy a new computer.
If nothing else works, try reinstalling your operating system. It worked for me.
