L530 - Access Connections: proxy + settings homepage

The problem is on a brend new L530, installed from scratch with Win7 64 bit Enterprise, no Center solutions Lenovo, just updated Lenovo (5.02.0018) and Lenovo access connection system (6.01).

The steps I did:

  1. Ethernet cable is plugged
  2. Starting system
  3. After a while AC asked the name of the new profile, beating Pavilion of the box "Edit profile."
  4. Settings changed
  5. Apply profile... nothing happened on the control panel (Internet Options) if IE is useless.
  6. Looks like Firefox changed settings (profile manual and all the settings are there).

I hope AC would set "Control Panel-> Internet options", so that all modern browsers would work (Chrome and Firefox have all two 'System Settings' for the Proxy settings).

Keep in mind that if I restart the system (perhaps to force AC to read profiles) looks like everything is working properly.

The real problem seems related to profiles created after loading of AC.

Any clue?

Moderator Edit:  Please DO NOT post in threads of 4 years and more!

Perhaps this could be useful for someone because I think I found the problem: pay attention to the setting "No. Proxy!

I did some tests and it seems that HQ does not have 'Firefox' syntax for this parameter (i.e. 10.0.0.0/8), if you put it on the profile the proxy parameter will not be scheduled.

The other problem is that Firefox will not include IE settings (10.*).

At the moment I put in place of the profiles just with 'Syntax of IE' and wrote on BugZilla:

Firefox 3.6.6 added a new preference for connection settings, use proxy Panel"system settings", and the default value is the point. • Connection to the store of Windows without turning off the proxy settings.

Original title: do not connect not not in the windows store

It's been 2 months since I bought my laptop from sony with windows 8. not once it is is connected to the store or any other windows app despite the repeated attempts by the evolution of the proxy settings. Don't ask me to try to disable the proxy settings, because it's the only way I can have access to the internet. Please solve this problem as soon as POSSIBLE, or if not I'll have to switch to another mode of system.not only store I couldn't even connect to any windows app given.i have not yet updated my windows up to now.
I tried each and all solutions that was posted on this issue.please suggest me proxy or any other solution parameters.

    Hi Jagan,

    1. When you say repeated attempts to change the proxy settings, have proxy settings you tried to change?

    2. your computer connected to a domain is?

    3. you receive messages or error codes?

This problem could be due to some incorrect settings or because of the connection proxy you use.

Using a proxy server can allow the administrator to limit access to the Internet.

You can reduce the effect of these problems by allowing unauthenticated through your proxy server access. We recommend that you enable unauthenticated access only for connections to URLs used by each application that has a problem. Some proxy servers may suggest that you create a list of URLs (also known as the 'white list') permissions.

Please refer to the article to address these issues that relate to the use of Windows Store apps or use of Microsoft applications that are included with Windows Update or Windows 8, you can include the addresses mentioned in the article in a list of permissions ('white list') on your proxy server and enable HTTP and HTTPS access for them :

The use of proxies authenticated with Windows 8

  • Proxy settings for to connect-VIServer

    Hello

I noticed that cmdlet Connect-VIServer using the Proxy settings to connect to port 443 of a VC.

(This could also be a "feature" of Windows ;-/)

Well, my problem is: I have a VC that is not included in the rules of Proxy managed by our central security team.

IE group policy is set to allows us do not change. So I can't change it in IE or with Regedit.

My Question is: should I have an option to say Connect-VIServer DO NOT to use the Proxy of IE settings?

    I have tryied to use

    CD HKCU:------"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings."

    Set-itemproperty. ProxyEnable 0

    but it does not work

    Any ideas on that?

    Thank you

You can change the setting with Set-VIToolkitConfiguration proxy.

  • I uninstalled an add-on, but it continues to reset my Manual proxy settings whenever I run, causing firefox to not connect to internet.

I recently installed an add-on (ZenMate) which subsequently I uninstalled because it's buggy. I never open it.

It is supported my proxy settings. When I launch FF, it now says "The Proxy Server is refusing relationship» I go into my network settings and notice that he selected the automatic configuration of the proxy, with a link to some zenmate garbage. So I reset it to no proxy and voila! Problem solved. Except that this isn't the case. Out of FF, and then run again, it restores every time of automatic proxy garbage.

    Can someone please help?

    Thank you!

Could check you something: just before the release of Firefox, make a backup copy of the file prefs.js, which must have the own proxy setting ('no proxy'). Then we will compare after his stop.

    Here's how:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Scroll down the list and create a copy of prefs.js as follows: click right prefs.js > copy and then immediately right-click in an empty area of the margin > paste. In a few moments, prefs - Copy.js must appear in your profile folder.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then repeat them process previous and windows should create a second copy. Right-click the second copy > Edition and Windows should start the file in Notepad. This can take some time if you have accumulated a lot of custom settings. If you are looking for proxy.type is that he always set to No proxy as it is during your session:

    user_pref("network.proxy.type", 0);

    If it has been changed:

    • Change it to 0, as shown in the previous line and save the file.
    • Launch Firefox back up again and see if it works.

    If it still shows 0:

Before starting Firefox, confirm that this user.js has been recreated in this folder.

  • How can I change my proxy settings?

For to change me my proxy settings, where are my Internet settings Configurations?

    Hello
the proxy settings are available under firefox > options > advanced > network > connection.

    See:

  • Changing the Proxy settings

I hope that someone who uses Firefox on a desktop personal computer that is not connected to a network can answer this question:

In Internet Explorer, I know that unchecking automatically detect it 'settings' option in the network under the Connections tab settings allows you to load Web pages faster.

In Firefox, there are four Configurations of setting Internet: 'not of Proxy,""Auto Detect Proxy Settings for this network,""use System Proxy settings"and"Manual Proxy Configuration","Auto-Detect"be the default option.

    1. which of these four parameters allows Web pages to load as fast they would in IE by unchecking ' settings automatically detect and what is the order of the other three configurations of the 'faster' to the slower?

    2. under "Caching are Web Content," the option "Override automatic management of the Cache" should be checked? If so, how many MB should cache limited? At present, the option is unchecked and set to 350 MB.

Some Web pages load slowly then the above settings may need to be changed.

Also, is there a 'Email Notification' option at the top / bottom of every thread created so that I know when someone has replied?

    -Very much appreciated.

If you do not use a proxy, then you can select safe no Proxy. I don't expect to have a performance impact if you didn't use a proxy in the first place.

The rest of the options simply control how the proxy is defined, not how fast the proxy is.

For more details, see the following links.

Firefox will try to determine the optimal cache size depending on the available disk space. There is no need to configure it manually. On the contrary, cached one very large can reduce performance if many small files will eventually be cached.

When you post a new question or answer, you are automatically subscribed for updates by e-mail. You can control this by increasing the Question top tool section on the right and clicking on "Get Email updates" or "Stop Email Updates" (depending on if you are subscribed to updates to update or not).

  • Why the proxy settings are not respected

I set up SSH as a proxy server on my laptop when I'm on a public network and configure Firefox to use the proxy by completing the manual Proxy config.

If SSH doesn't work, I get this error message as expected: "the proxy server refuses connections" when I try to access any website EXCEPT Google.

Searches on Google and access Google.com still works, even when the proxy server is not up. That seems broken.

When the proxy server IS up, Google searches do not appear to use it.

Google is my default search provider. If I try to access Bing, Firefox is behaving as expected (no access when proxy is out, throw up debugging indicating new connections when the proxy is up). If I change from Bing to be default search provider, the behavior of the two remains the same (proxy will use Bing, Google does not work).

Why access to Google (and only Google?) ignore the proxy settings? Are there other sites of 'magic' that would also ignore the proxy? I use the proxy because I want to protect my internet traffic when I'm on public networks, if Firefox can randomly ignore them for some sites but not others, how can I trust him?

My configuration problem. I realized that any site that uses https worked, while others are not.

Somehow the "use this proxy server for all protocols" got unchecked. Audit, it solves the problem.

  • Cannot read Kingdom Aura - Proxy settings don't stay off!

so here's the thing... I installed a game on steam called Kingdom of aura and whenever I run the launcher (and it is a windows problem, not a problem of pitcher) he says "the proxy server is not responding" so I'm like, 'ok, so lets go fix it' so I on the proxy settings, and I turn it off thinking "ok it could fix it" so I left to the launcher and said the same thing, "the proxy server is not responding" so im like, and I come back to find that IT has CHANGED THE FRIGGIN RETURN PROXY SETTINGS to THE DEFAULT,. proxy settings so im he loves, and this time, I started the game once it has been loaded , now it will not charge the dang another screen that appears along saying "Navigation to the webpage was canceled" I press the button which refreshes and guess what beautiful message I get? HAD THE SAME ERROR AS THE LAUNCHER! I click on a button that says: "fix-connection problems" and run the troubleshooter, he finds a problen that says: "the remote device or resource does not accept the connection" that never happened until I could start the game (because I ran into another problem inbetween these times). I tried nearly everything til the point I decide to use the full system scan norton WITHOUT all our backup files, and on that note, I found a small file called "browserdefender.dll" that apparently contains a virus. so like im, "ok I'll just find it and delete it." guess what? I can't find the damn file. I had to go to the site of norton by a small link that tells me on this file and was told that the ONLY WAY to remove this file is to run a full scan of the system, and I can't back up cause I don't have a usb key to store at the present time and also, I can't access it online and I need the password for not mine, but my father-in-law account! Help me, please!

    Hello

I would be grateful if you could help me with more information.

-How you play this game? You play online or is it installed in the computer?

If you have installed the game and run the exe file, this could be due to compatibility problems with the game. I suggest to install the game in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

    See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/older-programs-compatible-version-windows

If you try to play the game online, let us know which web browser do you use?

If it is Internet Explorer, try to open the Web site in compatibility view. See: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11

Let us know the status of the issue. If you need help, please after return. We will be happy to help you.

  • Recognizing the proxy settings

My Firefox just stopped recognizing my proxy settings. No matter even if I have settings in the fields or not... I can it be set to manual and let the proxy field and the port field empty and is always connected to the internet. I put the proxy settings in Internet Explorer and Chrome and they work properly... any suggestions?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
