Lab Manager Windows Server 2008

Hello

I had a problem with a model of Windows Server 2008. I use Lab Manager to deploy Windows 2008 and I want to do an automatic installation of Active Directory by dcpromo and an answer file. But at the first initialization of Windows 2008, I arrived on the login screen asking me to write the administrator password to activate the administrator account. After this operation, I give by vbs regestry key for automatic logon with the administrator account to start Active Directroy Unattend installation at the next startup.

I want to cancel this step of password for Windows 2008, I want to activate the account with the default password during deployment of Lab Manager. Any idea?

Thank you

We do not like that!

We create a VC machine on this machine, we install win2008.

Next, we create a sysprep script (.xlm) and a post script that does the adpromo.

After that, we make a sysprep on the server and shut it down.

Then import us the machine virtual Labmanager and unplugged the tag customize.

When deploy us the virtual machine since the model imported on startup sysprep runs a the machine becommes a Domaincontroller.

  • HP Pavilion p7-1451 USB 3.0 and Bluetooth drivers for Windows Server 2008 R2

I bought a HP Pavilion p7-1451 so I might have a machine that is affordable, yet powerful enough to put a server software development environment on (I'm a software engineer).

It came with Windows 8, but I need Windows Server 2008 R2, I own through an MSDN subscription.  I did what I always do in these cases, re-partioned the hard drive, re-formatted and installed the new operating system.

I have almost all devices work fine, but it still does not recognize the USB 3.0 ports and Bluetooth device.  I looked everywhere but could not find something that works.  Whatever it either from the HP site is targeted for Windows 7 or 8 and trying one of those, it tells me "your system does not meet the requirements of the operating system" and MSI publishes all the drivers for this particular motherboard (that I can find anyway).

Motherboard: MSI MS-7778, also known under the name of: MSI 2AEO version 1.0

    BIOS: FRIEND 8.12

Here is the list of "other devices" in Device Manager that Windows does not recognize:

    BCM20702A0

    (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller

    (USB) Universal Serial Bus controller

    Bluetooth device ID: USB\VID_0A5C & PID_21F1 & REV_0012

    USB Controller device ID: PCI\VEN_1022 & DEV_7812 & SUBSYS_2AE0103C & REV_03

Windows doesn't always recognize them after allowing him to look on the internet.

I googled everywhere and I'm not getting anywhere.

    Does anyone have advice?

Any chance that this could be linked to the BIOS?

I'm not having any chance to find a BIOS download for this motherboard either.

    Any help is very appreciated!

    Hi Provost,

Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the Ethernet drivers from the following link:

    http://www.driverscape.com/download/Atheros-ar8152-8158-PCI-e-fast-Ethernet-controller-%28ndis-6.20%29

And it worked perfectly for me. I had another system (HP 600 g MT). I went to the Device Manager and checked the name of the Ethernet adapter. It is Atheros AR8152 / 8158 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20). Then I googled and found the link above was the driver.

The graphics driver from the link you provided, I always download it now. Would return as soon as possible about that.

  • T61 and windows server 2008

I get to level my t61 of xp to windows server 2008. Yet, the bluetooth does not work. the pilot said he could not find bluetooth device. Secondly the fn keyboard shortcut does not work either. FN + f4 is ok, the fn + pgup/dwn is ok, but not fn + f2, f3, f5. any thoughts?

    Thank you.

Most of these function keys is related to a specific program (Fn + F3 to change plans with power management program)

If the associated program is not installed you have no functionality.

more information can be found here.

To solve the problem or the other vist hereto manually download drivers and software

    Or

Click hereto use the system update drivers and software download and instlal for you

PS bluetooth radio must be powered first before they recognozed by windows. Having been current on windows will install the default microsoft drivers. FN + F5 function is used to do this. Hotkey driver/utility must be installed to use Fn + F5.

  • D20 problem of configuration of Windows Server 2008 R2 / 1 x SATA HD / 4 x SATA SSD

    Hi all

I have a Mod D20. 4155 and want to use next to it is by default SATA HDD SATA SSD four disks of virtual machines. Windows Server 2008 R2 will be the OS with the use of its Hyper-V features.

I have Aproblem with detection of drives in the configuration of the operating system. All 5 disks are visible in the Marvell controller BIOS setup. It is possible to configure a RAID on the SSD, etc, but I don't "see" any disk in the configuration of the operating system. I tried to load additional drivers in the part of the Setup utility GUI, but it did not work. I tried with the driver Marcell SAS and Intel Matrix driver, both located at http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/migr-72280.html.

Suggestions for the BIOS of the PC / BIOS Marvell / OS installation configurations?

    Best regards, Chrischmi

    Hi all

I found the solution myself. After detection, the default drive is a SATA drive (and), I got the idea to test it on the Intel SATA controller. It was possible to install the spirit of the machine the disks attached to the Intel controller. After installation, I went to Device Manager and installed the driver of Lenovo Marvell, rekindled the Marvell controller disk and started the. Successfully. Yes!

On my way to the solution, I had another problem: in the setup of Windows GUI part, I got an error of 0 x 80300001 with Lenovo's Intel SATA driver. It was not possible to install windows Server on the SATA drive with reason0x80300001. very helpful post, Microsoft! (-) I decided to use the default Microsoft for the Intel SATA controller driver after a reboot. Installer executed well, but ended with an error 0 x 80070017 and problems of copy of (unknown) files. The solution (found after a few hours...) was to burn a new installation of Windows Server DVD. I don't want to talk about it anymore...

  • Difficult communication between Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 R2

I have a client-server application. The application server is installed (Jboss 4.2) on a computer that uses Windows 2003. The Jboss does not have Local system, but a user who has administrator rights. Among other features, this application communicates with other servers that use Windows Server 2008 R2, to find all the services of Jboss that are installed on these machines, their status, the databases that are connected to them, the ports (by checking the file jboss - service.xml, oracle - ds.xml). This communication is done by sending orders sc, as (and other controls to start and stop services):

    Status of request \\server SC = all | find/i 'jboss ' | find/i 'service_name ' | find/i "_q".

My problem is that I have to migrate this application from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2.  After I installed it on my new machine, I saw that the application is not behavies as it should. I managed to observe that the response time to send the same command (the one above) to Windows 2008 R2 to Windows 2008 R2 takes more time that sending the same command from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2.

Is something changed in the sc command or there's a problem with the security rights?

If you have an idea, please give me a feedback.  This problem is beyond my knowledge.

  • How to install the ssl certificate in windows server 2008?

    Hello

Can someone give me the steps to install the SSL certificate on my application hosted on windows server 2008 R2?

    Hello

Although technet.microsoft.com should be the best forum for the problems of server below is a guide on how to install an SSL certificate.

    It will be useful.

To install your newly acquired in IIS 7 SSL certificate, first copy the file somewhere on the server and then follow these instructions:

    1. Click on the start menu, go to administrativetools and click on Manager of Services Internet (IIS).
    2. Click the server name in the links on the left column. Double-click server certificates.

    3. In the Actions column to the right, click Complète Certificate Request...

    4. Click on the button with the three points, and then select the server certificate that you received from the certificate authority. If the certificate does not have a .cer file extension, select this option to display all types. Enter a friendly name that you can keep track of certificate on this server. Click OK.

    5. If successful, you will see your newly installed in the list certificate. If you receive an error indicating that the request or the private key is not found, make sure that you use the correct certificate and you install it on the same server that you generated the CSR on. If you are sure these two things, you just create a new certificate and reissue or replace the certificate. If you have problems with this, contact your certification authority.

Bind the certificate to a Web site

    1. In the column of links on the left, expand the sites folder, and click the Web site that you want to bind the certificate to click links... in the right column.

    2. Click the Add... button.

    3. Change the Type to https , and then select the SSL certificate that you just installed. Click OK.

    4. You will now see the listed link for port 443. Click close.

    Install all the intermediate certificates

Most of the SSL providers issue certificates of server out of an intermediate certificate so you will need to install the intermediate certificate on the server as well or your visitors will receive a certificate error not approved. You can install each intermediate certificate (sometimes there are more than one) by following these instructions:

    1. Download the intermediate certificate in a folder on the server.
    2. Double-click the certificate to open the certificate information.
    3. At the bottom of the general tab, click the install Certificate button to start the Certificate Import Wizard. Click Next.

    4. Select place all certificates in the following store , and then click Browse.

    5. Select the Show physical stores checkbox, then expand the Intermediate certificate authorities folder, select the below folder on the Local computer . Click OK. Click Next, and then click Finish to complete the installation of the intermediate certificate.

You may need to restart IIS so that it starts the new certificate to give. You can verify that the certificate is installed correctly by visiting the site in your web browser using https rather than http.
