Lack of DVD-ROM content and directory on Mac.

We wrote just a job with a DVD-ROM on the root directory content. It's something we have done regularly. This time the files were not visible on the Mac. They are visible on any PC. Not only the files from the DVD-ROM invisible but all the DVD content of the files.  If no Audio_TS or Video_TX folder. What is happening on all Macs.   Version 6.0.1.013 callback.

We discovered the problem. We are still not sure why this caused the question but all .pdf in the DVD-ROM folder files were in Spanish. Eliminating the accents on file names, went around. We have reduced to the first .pdf files by burning the DVD with the other files and it worked fine. Then we changed the names of the files and presto!  It's very weird, but I remember my early days of DVD authoring that some characters are treated as commands in the DVD specifications. I'm more likely to attribute it to the characters causing the Mac to write incorrectly or not properly finalize directory. Whatever it is, this fixed. Strange but true.

Very strange.  My previous projects say under disc info that there is 526 KB for the DVD-Rom content.  I don't know how to remove it.  So I thought I would try the Adobe Dynamic Link into a new project.  I check the Build and there is 526 KB for the DVD-Rom content.  And I only made the video in yet, no menus!

    You can not

  • DVD ROM audio and video playback jerky/stuttery

    Hi all

My first post and I'm rather puzzled.

This problem just - I went to play a DVD (real DVD, not burned) in my laptop and playback was stuttery, audio and video.  Never noticed before, but is now constant.

I have run all software troubleshooting and even checked this forum for solutions.  The most common seems to be to check if DMA is enabled, and it is.  I tried several video players (VLC, media library, WMP11) and the problem exists on each of them.  I checked to make sure that all drivers are up to date, and they are.

I have an Inspiron E1705, 2,00 ghz core2duo, 1 GB of RAM.  The DVD player is a DVD + RW SDVD8820 Phillips.

    Ideas?

Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated.  Thanks for reading!

  • Handset video / DVD - ROM works with the output directly to disk

    Hi all

I have produced a combined video / DVD-ROM and have many problems with the release:

    1. when I write the project directly to a DVD, everything is ok

But in my current project, I wanted to write the project to a folder on the hard drive (just to send a master copy online)...

    2. when I write the project to a folder on the hard disk, the video_ts is ok, but data (html with 8 related videos) will not play correct: on the start page, there is a video-slider with preview-pictures, which are related to the videos. The cursor does not show the preview images...

Question: Which again in my data? I thought, still only Copy files. But oviously, yet transmitted data by writing on the hard disk in a different way, just by writing on the DVD. Someone at - it experience with this situation?

3 another problem: when I replaced the section of incorrect data on the folder on the hard drive with the accurate data of the correct output of DVD - ROM section, everything is ok - when I open the files in the folder on the hard drive. But when I burn a DVD with this mixture, my DVD Player cannot play this DVD. I compared this DVD with the correct DVD and didn't recognize any difference. In particular, there is a folder video_ts correct on two DVDs

Again, the question is: which again with the data? Respectively, which makes it a readable DVD / not readable by DVD players.

Someone at - it an idea, what's not here?

    Best regards

    Markus

    Hi Markus,.

Exactly HOW you burn the file to the hard drive on a DVD? So simply burn the VIDEO_TS folder on disk in the form of DATA, that's why it does not work in the DVD player. To be a legal-spec DVD compatible with set-top players, DVD must be burned as 'DVD Video'. The files are arranged in a certain way on the drive, there is maybe a flag on the disc, which indicates that it is 'DVD Video', etc.

Add any DVD-Rom content in yet, then try to build an IMAGE file (.iso) of reminder rather than a 'folder' on the hard drive. Use any burning software that allows a .iso as a source and will create a good DVD. Or use a free program like "ImageBurn" and select "Video DVD" when you save the file on the disk if you want to continue using the method of the folder. But I don't think you can add more data in the VIDEO_TS folder where it is saved on the hard drive, only add content in yet.

I think VLC Media Player will play DVD file .iso if my memory is

  • DVD-ROM drive won't read DVD

I have this CD/DVD which will play normal CD but will not play any DVD (DVD + R, DVD-R). I noticed that the DVD would not work when I was a BONE

RESETTLEMENT. I put in my Windows XP restore disc, and installed successfully. Then I put in my drivers disk that was on a DVD-ROM drive and it wouldn't work!

I could hear the spinning, but it sounded abnormal, and nothing appeared in my computer. Not open same AutoPlay. Frustrated, I decided to get the drivers of

sites of different manufacturers, including the driver of CD-ROM to see if I could start the DVD. Even after that I installed the drivers for the hard disk, DVD will not play again.

    Any ideas?

    ·         Have you made changes on the computer?

    ·         What version of the operating system is installed on the computer?

    ·         Are what store you referring?

  • CD/DVD-ROM for reading CD / DVD RAM only...

I reinstalled Windows XP due to problems with my system works only with Win7.  I did a clean install.  Windows XP installed a generic driver from microsoft CD/DVD RAM.  For this reason, I am not able to access the DVD ROM discs, no discs as CD ROM and DVD RAM disks.  I know that there is a way to change things so the system sees that I have a DVD ROM and not only a DVD RAM.  It's just think WinXP that my readers are only DVD RAM drives work very well.  They work perfectly with CD and CDR/RW and will work with a store bought DVD.  I just can't figure how to change the generic Microsoft for DVD RAM DVD ROM driver  I had this problem before, I don't remember the fix. I deleted the registry entries, I deleted the readers, only for have reinstalled them with the original drivers.  I have 2 drives, both are LiteOn.  LiteOn has no drivers for the drive and says they are "plug and play".  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

I tried this also.  He said: there is nothing wrong with my CDROM or it says that my CDROM is not able to write DVD and install one that can.  Thank you.

To access device manager > right click on the CD/DVD rom device and choose uninstall. Restart the computer and allow windows to detect the new hardware.

  • Vista Home Premiun Device Manager does not display my CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive

I recently tried to use my CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive and it did not work. It was working fine a few days previously but now... Nothing.

My first reaction was to open Windows Explorer, expand and look at computer. There was my C drive and the recovery Partition but no Opitical drive more.
Then I opened the Device Manager and saw that the CD was registered it is more as well?

    My question is

Vista automatically removes the CD-ROM drive in the list of Device Manager if there is a problem with the drive itself?

Or is there something that happened this suppression the CD-ROM in Device Manager list and it is not a problem with the drive itself?

I had a disc go bad before on a PC running Windows 98 and 2000, but the disc stayed in the Manager list but I'm pretty new to Vista and know things are very different. So before we get in panic Mode, I thought that it would be a good idea to ask where someone will know probably for sure.

    Thanks in advance for clues

    Hello

1st try a restore of the system if you have a point of return before it happened.

How to make a Vista system restore
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/76905-System-Restore-how.html

    -----------------------------------

    If no joy:

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the system manufacturer
and the manufacturer of the device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

  • Dimension 4700 dvd - rom & dvd +-RW nor working

I'm not either of my dvd to work on my dimension 4700 players.  When I look in Device Manager, there a yellow circle with a black exclamation point next to each of the disks.  The first is HL-DT-ST DVD - ROM GDR8163B and the second is PHILIPS DVD +-RW DVD8631.  When I click on them they both say "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device.  The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) ».  The use of the device is turned on.  I tried to uninstall and reinstall but still the same thing.  I tried to uninstall and reboot my pc, but when I go back into Device Manager, they are both with the same error code and the sign again.  I tried to download the driver from dell, but it tells me that it cannot find the device.  Help!  I need my readers!  Thank you!

  • Tecra 8100 - CPU max, DVD - ROM and BIOS update issues

    1. I have a 500 MHz processor on my 8100. I would like to upgrade to maximum capacity. I think it's 800 MHz since it is the highest, the series went to.
But if it's 800 MHz, any Mobile PIII on this frequency do? Or should I check for special settings of the processor?

    2. I don't have a floppy, or ways to get drive one. And I'm not going to ebay one just for an update of the BIOS. Any ideas? A bootable CD with the files will do?

    3. What is the location of the DVD-ROM and what alternative models can I use? The 8200 went up to 8 x DVD - RW. Could I go further?

Thank you. I hope that my post is OK like this instead of three different positions.

1 take a look at the other Tecra 8100 models to determine which processors are compatible.

    2. I don't think that would work a bootable CD, you must follow a special procedure to update the BIOS and requires a floppy drive. If there is a version of Windows, you must use that instead.

3 upgrade the DVD player can be difficult because you must use the correct master/slave settings, and it must have the same design of the façade of the original.

Personally, I'm selling the laptop and buy a second hand faster one. It can work out to be cheaper.
