Anyone know how to get a new dvd - rom windows xp mce recovery? And how much it will cost?
Because I'm living in the Brazil, and I bought the laptop in the United Kingdom.

    Hello

The recovery CD can be ordered from each Toshiba authorized service provider.
Authorized service provider fixed prices of recovery CD and each country has different prices, but generally it should not be expensive.

I recommend contact point of the ASP to the Brazil and ask about this CD.

The database with ASP in the world, you'll find the European Toshiba support page:

  • Portege M400 Tablet product Recovery DVD-ROM

Where can I get a set of recovery discs to DVD-ROM for my Portege M400 Tablet products please?

    Hello

Usually, you can order the recovery disk using this page:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

But this page provides a recovery only for the most recent disk series laptop.
I'm not very well if you'll be able to order the recovery disk because of the age of the M400 m

Anyway, the other possibility would be the ASP. You can contact your authorized service partner and could ask this disc

In the worst case, you can use a clean Windows disc and Toshiba drivers are downloadable from the page of the driver.

  • Tecra M3 recovery DVD-ROM

    Hello

I just bought a brand new M3 in Germany and unfortunately found out that the operating system and the restoration of DVD - ROM is both in German. I contacted the support hotline just to hear that, as I bought it in Germany I could only receive a replacement DVD in German (and no possibility for me to order the DVD in another language... :-( Does anyone on this forum knows how to receive the restoration of DVD - ROM in English

    Any advice is welcome

    Serge

    Hi Serge,

I believe that the terms of licensing for versions of Windows XP OEM it avoid else that distributed in the original language.

You can however buy a real English Microsoft Windows XP installation disc and install on your laptop, then you can download tools and utilities from the web site of Toshiba UK.

I doubt that it works with VmWare.
    Why?
Because the restore CD contains the ghost image files and you will need to boot from the recovery CD for installation.

So I see the chances of getting this job running VmWare.

My A2 Tectra is so damaged that I want to back to whn he bought. I can't find the DVD_ROM of recovery of product that comes with it. But I got the Toshiba A60 product DVD_ROM recovery.
They are all the same or do I have the exact DVD_ROM to A2 TECTRA?

    Hello

The answer is no. each recovery image is created separately, and contains drivers for specific hardware infrastructure. Best way is to use the facilities of Microsoft CD and install all the drivers, tools and utilities only later. All these things you can find on the download page of Toshiba.

They keyboard might not be the problem, or it may not be connected properly to the motherboard the best thing to do is to take it to a service center, it should not cost you anything, if it is still under warranty... but if it's just the keyboard and your laptop is out of warranty then it should cost more than 100-200... can't say how much exactly, because I have no idea.

  • Cannot open attachments in Outlook Express since I use recovery DVDs

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite on Windows xp. I had to run the dvd - rom product recovery he was really play it put out of service and all sorts of self is sorted now and is back to normal running.
The only problem is now, when I try and open an attachment in my email, it says this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.

Please can any one help I have sat here for hours and still not find a solution.

    Hello

Well, after using the recovery CD all programs and other tools that you have installed on the portable computer have been removed.
I guess you want to open a file of attachments in particular.
In this case, you will need to choose a new application to open files.
The easiest way is to right click on the file and choose open with. You can then choose the program which should open the file attachment.
For example: txt file > editor or Notepad

  • Satellite P10-304-DVD-ROM/CD-RW questions!

    Hello world

I own one of the original computers Satellite P10-304, which has a DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive. For these last months, we have one or two problems with that. It was a little skittish in which CD it reads, but in the last days he almost completely stopped read correctly (audio/data) CD / DVDs. He doesn't seem to know they are there. However, the Player opens and runs well, as if it were playing the CD, but nothing happens on the PC.

Curiously, I then looked on the list of the system, and the DVD-ROM/CD-RW driver had an excalamation mark. Even more curiously, the pilot was called TOSIICA! DWD something or other, when I'm sure it should have been DVD TOSHIBA etc.etc. Following the instructions, I uninstalled and then tried to reinstall, but it does not appear now when I try to add hardware.

    Confusing.

I would be very grateful if anyone has any suggestions?

    See you soon,.

    Ian.

    Hello

It looks like a car damage registry entry.
But that is only my suggestion. The other possibility is broken (lens calibration problem) by car.
You say that you have already removed the drive from the Device Manager, but the peut t OS recognizes the drive again. Well, in this case one of the possibilities is to use the System Restore tool or retrieve the device with the recovery CD.
But if the drive is broken recovery procedure doesn t help. In this case, only the replacement of the drive can solve this problem.

  • M40: RECOVERY DVD HELP

    Hello.

I'm new here and this is my first post. I hope that I am able to do a little help because I searched all over the internet and can not find help for my topic. I have a laptop Toshiba M40. It came with a DVD of recovery and a recovery CD Express Media Player. I have two partitions on my hard disk, C, and D.

I have all my dad on D. If I want to use the recovery disk to restore all data in C and D to keep the same. But when I put the recovery DVD in the ROM it does not give me an option to choose an expert or simple, it just says: "this will delete all your data, are you sure."
    What should I do?

    Thank you very much

    Bryan

    Hello

As far as I know, you can choose between the simple and expert mode.
After starting Windows Xp recovery CD (NOT Express Media Player recovery CD)
You can see two options 1 single and 2-expert.
You must select the expert mode.
If you are recovering your system on C files on the same drive D.

    Good bye

  • P10: DVD / DVD-ROM problems

    Hi guys!

Hope you can help, probably something stupid, I forgot. I have the P10 series with a Combo DVD - ROM SD-R2412 type. I recently put a new installation of the op (XP) system by using the system restore disks. Since then, my cd drive reads DVD movies and normal cd but not DVD ROM such a DVD - ROM games. Any ideas? Windows XP sees it as a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive, but that's all.

Thanks in advance for any help

    Hello

I'm not sure but I think that your device has a DVD - RAM drive. I have the same drive in my Satellite and everything works perfectly. I really don t understand how something like this possible is especially after the reinstallation of the operating system with recovery CD.

I put t know if you use the original games store or some houses burned. Try to use many different DVD media to know what problem one makes.
