Lack of video support in Safari?

I am using Safari 9.1.2 mini with the latest version of El Capitan on my (early 2009).  I often get complaints that I don't use Flash, but I'm not going to change that.  But I also get other messages trying to see the video (e.g. YouTube) who say:

Your browser does not currently recognize the video formats available.  Click here to visit our frequently asked questions about HTML5 video.

Their help file explains Safari is supported:

Many browsers are supported as well the video element in HTML5 and the H.264 video codec or the WebM format. It is:

I find that the videos will run under Google Chrome.

  • Black videos YouTube in Safari

    Dear SupportCommunity,

I have problems with Youtube videos playing in Safari but do not show the actual video.

The screen stays black, even if the sound plays correctly. This phenomenon occurs completely random.

I tried to empty the register that sometimes solves the problem temporarily. Restart Safari also solves the problem temporarily.

I have this problem getting at least two times a day and have to switch to Chrome if the temporary fixes do not work. It's actually a little boring.

Does anyone have the same problem or an idea where the bat hurt?

I tried to download a coupon printer add on, but there is no download. Troubleshooting video wouldn't play because he said "not format of video support.

Note that an error 'no format video support' is usually caused by web pages that use the HTML5 media player to play a video and any appropriate format is available or the server is not configured correctly and does not send the file with the MIME type supported.

You can try to see if you can open the video in a new tab via the context menu (see video).

It is a "Bug" in the software, waiting for a fix.

It can be corrected temporarily by open images in the slideshow beforehand module and run the slide show IN THE module.

When you return to the library grid view, the impromptu slideshow (Ctrl + Enter) will work.

This is a known issue with 6.4. Go to the point or slide show and run the slide show and it will work. I found that after this, the quick slide show in the library started working, at least for that run of LR.

  • How does the new HTML5 video Support? and what are the limits?

If the new benefit has been relased as well as many new features, including the video support HTML5 then with the new feature, here are a few new questions!

How Edge to load the video? It is fully preloaded before Edge shows the content? Or is it more of a pregressive 'youtube' loading while playing?

    Or can choose us?

What is the example of recommended video file size 4 MB?

How does edge deal with browsers that only support .ogg or .webm instead of mp4?

What about ISO & tablets support? loading time, 'delay', etc.?

When you import an audio or video file, a group is created for you. You can import media with the same name (videosample.ogv; videosample.mp4) this group for compatibility with browsers. The corresponding format is chosen according to the browser which is in charge of the composition.

About the WebM format - you can also add a webm file in your publication. However since it is a format of royalty, Animate will not display a live preview in the authoring tool. If your browser supports this then it will definitely play fine on the browser preview.

You can take a look at the video lesson In - app, which is available in the Panel of lesson for more details on how it works.

And Yes, you have options to preload for HTML5 video too, however progressive download is not available. You will need to use scripts using JS to achieve this functionality.

Hope this helps and try this out.

  • Videos only in Safari + Youtube as a black box appers

    Hello

I'm using Safari 5.0.3 on a white Macbook with Snow Leopard and an Intel GMA 950 graphics card. YouTube always go very well, since yesterday. Now, when you go to youtube to wath a video, you can see a black box. You can not click on it, or right click, nothing happens. But you can watch youtube videos when they are embedded in a web page, or the flash videos are to other Web sites.

With firefox and chrome youtube go very well. I got flash 10.1 and 10.2 installed, but all is the same. The thing very strange, is that if I use Safari in 32-bit, youtube videos are going well or if you are using Safari 5.0.3 whith the menu developer I use another user agent, for example Windows Safari 5.0.3 I can watch the videos.

But I want my default configuration, Safari 5.0.3 64-bit.

Can you helpe me please? I'll be staying forums everywhere on the internet and nobody don't knowns a solution, and I see that they are a lot of people with this problem.

Ah, excuse me for my English, I'm from the Spain and it costs me a lot to write in English, but I understand very well. Another thing, my job is a computer engineer and I experienced on this type of problem, and I tried to reinstall, find viruses, repair permissions... everything you can imagine, but nothing.

I wish you can find out where is the problem. Thank you.

    Sergio

Hello Sergio, thanks for the explanation. I didn't know that the default value is 64 bit for Safari. It is different from the PC.

I read on the video scene and think that youtube will most likely be the first to support it. It will take other sites some time however.

We had another Mac user just yesterday who was having a problem with Safari and they discovered that they were using the 64-bit browser and as soon as they used the 32-bit browser everything was ok.

Here's the thread if you do not want to read. I couldn't understand what was wrong :-)

  • How to stop video autoplay in safari 9.0?

When I visit some Web sites such as CNN, video automatically starts playing whenever the page is loaded. I tried to disable the flash and silverlight, but that did not stop the AutoPlay.  Any guidance is appreciated.

I think it is the same thing as Yosemite found here: link to this post

For OS X Yosemite 10.10 set the following in the Safari preferences:

    1. on the Advanced tab, set "Stop plug-ins to save energy.

    2. on the Security tab, set "allow the Plug-ins" by Internet Plug-ins and then click on «Site settings Web...» "for her.

    3. find the media type you want to stop auto play in the left columns.

Most non Flash videos (mp4/h264/HTML5 video) will be 'QuickTime '.

    4. the value "when visiting other Web sites" Ask to click to start or block for disabling permanent.

    5. click on 'done '.

Safari will play the video (s) on a page for a short period before stopping to save energy and the noise will stop.

By clicking on the play button video will start the video and the audio again for viewing whenever you want.

  • Video support HP Envy 17 Notetebook computer Touchsmart m7-j120dx

    I have the laptop above.

It is equipped with an Intel HD 4600 graphics card.

Question: How many monitors in addition to the laptop screen the map will allow to connect?

It grows 2 additional monitors via a docking station, but they are both rated as Monitor 2 and show the same image.

I want to have the ability to use 2 larger screens for CAD applications.

He worked for a short time, until a reboot.

I tried to expand on the adjacent screen, but when I select "Identify" the 3rd monitor always shaws up # 2.

    Hey @Purdaddy ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you have questions about the monitors supported maximum on your graphics card.

I think it's important to note that most of the docks act as a port replicator and might divide the connection rather than provide an independent channel of communication for each monitor.

Theoretically, the mobile phone should support poster as much as there are a of the available connections. Looking at the specs of your laptop there 1 HDMI connection with the hardware by default 1 additional monitor isn't what would be guaranteed to work. That being said, there are hordes of profitable devices out there that can convert the USB ports to display ports. Couple with the fact that you have 4 available USB 3.0 ports that would make more effective the speeds of 3.0 are a huge advantage to reduce video lag and flow more quick of video signal.

Now involved in the Intel GPU. The current Intel GPU controllers allow only use independent of 3 displays. Basically, this means that if you fullscreen a window it will jump to the screen size 1, 2 and 3. You could still technically use multiple screens, but they would be shared. For example, if you had 6 poster (1-6) you have the right to use them as 3 displays. so the screen 1 and 2 if A poster, 3 and 4 to show B, with 5 and 6 that make up the C screen for a total of 3 screens. Keep in mind for an independent view he needs its own connection priority or otherwise you're just mirrored the signal on the second screen through a dispatcher.

So without knowing exactly what dock and how it manages the ports, I can only tell you that, by default, the system will allow only 1 additional screen due to physical limitations, but Windows and your GPU is expected as much as you can connect to it with independent support of 3 screens.

Here you see for the configuration to a configuration of the 3 display on an Intel GPU: Intel - graphics drivers: Configuration 3 - displays FAQ.

I hope this information is useful.
