Lag when you type in Mac Messages app

Hello!

I recently got my new work - the MacBook Pro 13 ", 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 laptop.

Everything works well except for the messages App. overtime I'm typing a message there is a significant lag - after a few words the app is not facing what I type, the 'small wheel' appears, and it takes a few seconds (2, maybe 3) for typical content to appear.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

I disconnected my account, signed in, close and reopen the app, restarted the MacBook, deactivated and reactivated iCloud contacts, etc.. Nothing helps.

May be a corrupt .plist.

Make a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

Quit the application.

Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select the library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.iChat.plist.  Move the .plist on your desktop.

Restart your computer, open the application and test. If it works fine, delete the plist for the office.

If the application is the same, return the .plist where you got it, crushing the latest.

If this does not work, repeat the above, but remove the com.apple.imagent.plist

    I have a ticket open with support Dell/Quest, but thought I'd post here this ongoing problem where someone can help you.

    Question:

    I'm on version 8 vWorkspace and all servers are virtual Win2008R2 on ESXi 5.  When clients Web Connector (Windows or Mac) connects to RDSH gateway SSL Secure-IT, there is a noticeable lag when you type, hanging out windows, move the slider mouse around the start menu, etc.  All of our users to put to test is complained about this, because it affects their normal daily work.

    It is compared to customer standard RDP Windows, as well as bypassing the Secure-IT.  Bypassing the Secure-IT, the LAG disappeared completely.  The offset is also noticeable when comparing in the unique environment of LAN.

    EOP all off except for the extreme EOP EOP Flash and EOP printer.  I also tested with EOP all features are disabled, but it made no difference.

    All features of Windows disabled (smoothing of the fonts, background, etc.)

    My infrastructure:

    Internet (users)--> firewall SonicWall--> LAN (Secure-IT, Web - IT, connection broker, RDSH servers)

    The virtual machine of the LATTER was in the demilitarized zone, but to help out, I moved it inside the LAN which made no difference.

    The machine virtual Secure-IT has a lot of resources I can see that the CPU and the RAM hardly moved.  And I'm testing only with one or two connections in all cases.

    I tried to appoint the former Secure-IT version 7.5 executable, which further aggravates the offset.

    At this point, it is a show-stopper for us.  I hope that this can be resolved as vWorkspace is the best solution for us in terms of ease of use/connection for our non-techie users.

    I discovered what the problem was.  I disabled the journaling on the IT security and the offset is now completely gone.  I found out about it on a post on the forum of Quest vWorkspace in 2010.  http://en.community.Dell.com/TechCenter/virtualization/vWorkspace/f/4827/t/19551509#1880

    So, I think Dell/Quest should document this, put in a basis of knowledge, or difficulty Secure-IT (pnsslsvc.exe) service, because it would help a lot of people.

    If anyone runs into this problem I changed the size of the font to 10 when I got the phone. Changed to 8 and now, no need to manually to the top to see what I'm typing. Hope that someone else who saves the frustration.

    Since you're on a laptop, I suppose that you have a right of trackpad under the keyboard. It may be that you hit the trackpad with your wrist or Palm when you type.

    Try to change the sensitivity of the mouse and see if that helps or if you have a setting to disable the trackpad when you type. I have

    Click Start, control panel and select slider and change your settings in there...

    I don't know where the settings would be for the Compaq Presario but you can always check with the manufacturer to get the correct settings for your laptop.

    If you are certain that there is no intrusion of humidity of 100% (honestly, what you describe seems decidedly like that... but still), so I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, thinking... what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

    It's weird. In recent days, when you type anything on Facebook or other applications, including the subject of this question, I feel a very important gap between what I get and when it appears on the screen. However, as I type this question, there is no lag whatsoever.

    The first step and perhaps the only necessary one, is to get rid of your software "anti-virus" without value.

    Please remove the "Webroot" product by following the instructions on this page. If you have a different version of the product, the steps may be different.

    Back up all data before making any changes. Never install a software "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" again.

    When you type on the keyboard of my laptop cursor will go to a random part of the page or the screen and keep tapping on what I already typed.

    I had this problem with a Dell Inspiron, and they provided a patch with has been for the Bios or the touchpad.

    Is this a common fault with the Toshiba. I've seen some messages referring to disable the touchpad. However I don't think that this is a solution to the problem and Toshiba should provide a fix.

    Does not at any time have my finger on the touchpad while I was seized.

    As Christopher said use FN + F9 key combination to disable the touchpad. If the problem persists you should contact the Service partner. I'm sure they have more experience with it.

    I use two models of laptops different and same happen to me. Not often, but sometimes.

    Hello chilli.willi, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

    If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

      then select restart with disabled modules.

    When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

    If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

    To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

    When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.
