Language-APEX 4.0 Templates/browser issues

Recently, I've converted an APEX 3.2 application 4.0. I have some of the new themes/templates reassigned to my application. Having had a few users using the application as a dev a problem seems to have developed regarding the new themes/templates. The app is a standard en - us installation with a component bilingual en - ca. My Windows XP installation uses a locale of English Canada. For me, the app works great... no problems. However, I have some French users with configurations of french job when their locale is the French Canada. When they try to connect, they receive an application without real explanation as to the cause error. I was able to reproduce their problem simply by changing my settings regional en - ca under XP. Now, it stops here. On a mission to try to solve this problem, I have reviewed the page via a Publisher source and goes further by reviewing the models used in the application. In most cases, the language html is defined in HTML lang = "& BROWSER_LANGUAGE". That made me think that somehow the browser language is involved in this. So I went in IE7 under Tools/general and selected the language button. Here, I discovered we ca as the only language installed. On a french desk, kicking around the same setting had value en - us language in the language and nothing else. On the french office in Internet Explorer, I have added the language we - in than already there as en - us. En - ca was the first entry, was second us-en and by using regional settings in French Canada. I tried the page and it is always wrong. Simply, I reversed the order of the languages so that we ca was first and en - ca finished second and now the Web page appear correctly. I changed it it wrong and back again. Curiously however, when I put the en - ca to be #1 in the list and page errors, when I saw the source I discovered that the html language setting was trying to use en - us. So I will try to understand why this should be said clearly model html lang = "& BROWSER_LANGUAGE". Should I be handling this setting somehow? He default us-en and your supposedly to manipulate this definition somehow? Since this problem occurs on the login page, where should it be handled? In the authentication of the application part? I'm a little confused as to how to fix this for our french users.

What error do they get? It results in an HTTP 404 error? Is there written information in the Web server error log or the alert database log when this happens?

And now a few more questions if you don't mind:

(1) is just a question after you have changed the theme of a new APEX 4.0 theme and no other changes?
(2) instead of changing your regional settings, what happens when you simply change the language browser en - ca as the first in the list?
(3) how is the language of the application being derived in your application?
(4) I know this is maybe a stretch, but can it be replicated on apex.oracle.com?

  • Browser issues on Vista after update KB977165 security

    The other day I installed upgrading security KB977165. Later, I noticed problems both of the browsers that I use - IE8 and Firefox 3.5. I could use a browser once, but after closing cold not reopened or the other. If I rebooted the computer, I could still use a browser once. Recalling the only software modification that I had done - update KB977165 - Finally I uninstalled it. There has been no problem browser since.

    Has anyone else had a similar problem with this security update? I see other problems with this update in various forums, but none with the browsers.

    Glad to know that you have understood the cause for the problem you are experiencing, it is much appreciated!

    This problem occurred because of the conflict between the present security software on the computer and the update.

    I suggest to install the Update KB977165 via a stand-alone package, please follow the steps below:

    Step 1: first, disable security software, follow the steps mentioned below

    Step 2: Download the update hard disk (on the desktop).

    Now try to install the update that KB977165 saved on the desktop, once the update is installed restart the computer in normal mode and check if the problem persists.

  • TORCH of browser issue.

    I used the torch for several months and so far have not had the problem shown below.

    But suddenly, Thunder run game via Face book will not load from 45%, which makes the game unplayable.

    I tried to upload a screenshot, but it was a forbidden file, they said.

    I tried to reorganize my site by placing files in folders so that it will make it easier for me to update, I have them loaded on the server, but the links still point to the old locations. I tried several times deleting and reloading these files with no luck. Part of the problem is that I did something to screw up the preview in browser option, when I try to preview in browser, it takes me straight to the remote site.   • Browser issues - unable to answer/post in this forum & bookmarks

    I just noticed this and wonder if it's just me...

    I tried to respond to a thread while browsing this thread on the droidx and failed to click in the message field to bring up the keyboard. I tried to test if I could start my own discussion while on the DroidX and while I could mark the discussion as a question, type in the header bar, I couldn't type in the message field to get the keyboard. If I chose next to the keyboard of the field title, I could get on the message field, but he was driving, not not by typing what I wanted, do not let me delete the last letter on the ground, with other letters to the test in the field title. A little difficult to explain. I thought to take a video of him to show better, and if anyone else has this problem, maybe I'll have to.

    The second question/weird oddity has to do with adding bookmarks. I am able to do so while holding the phone vertically, but when the phone is horizontal, I can't to. I press the flag icon, set up the gallery with the blackened thumbnail of the page with the star icon and 'Add' and when I click to add, nothing happens... vertical flip and press and no problem I get the screen name field and location.

    I plan on reset anyway to clear up any strangeness, but thought I'd throw my quirks browser here to see what others can suggest. Also, can someone tell me where the bookmarks are stored and the best way to save them? I don't see them in Astro.

    I found that, when you add bookmarks in landscape mode, if the Add button is unresponsive, a blow to the next bookmark - then a kick return, allows the Add button to answer.

    OK first turned off im not a computer genius or an irritable person. but I have two PCs, one runs windows vista that in recent years its got terribly slow with each update and in particular some of them it becomes a bit slower, I noticed. I would like to install the updates of the browser windows 7 and all this reallycan help speed that my old pc can run games online and pc itself can run faster but I need to install these make the updates. my browser and pc so slow it is literally an analysis sometimes or just stops. It does not help the games that are played in particular in the form of online browser. I'm really at a loss what to do. I completely erased the HDD and reset to factory settings that makes my pc running at a pace that is very nice but not fast enough for some games online that work 7. is there something that you have out there which can remove all glitched updates and only installs the updates that really are needed and will not clutter up my pc or do my pc slow as a snail again.  or a list of important updates only that you need just to move to 7 with duty to update ALL updates. When I deleted the hard drive at the factory, it runs great. then it is better in a few years. I don't want to end up with the same problem. again and again... or end up not being able to play my games online, because the software cannot be updated. When I tried to update my software back again once to a crawl even AFTER I had just wiped out the hard drive {not to mention I had to whipe it again to get the updates to do works back} so obviously, as I suspected it was the windows updates that are a malfunction of my pc. I have even higher speed dsl and it works like a charm on any other pc very well and runs on this pc as well when his shattered fine if not not not my net access is make my browser. I'm really at a loss here.  I hope someone out there can help publicize me updates anyone can help me and those that I should avoid because it's very frusterating.     I suggest that do you a System Restore to the point before these updates have been installed.
    Method 3:
    Once you have completed the restoration of the system, download and install updates one manually to determine which update is causing the problem to occur and if this update is not recommended or important you can refrain from their installation.

    If the clock of my new (1 month) place 7 continues to ruin - it will just start to run fast, fast sometimes up to 45 minutes.  I tried different settings, called the support of the other night (and they had to get the low volume button + power) and even a factory reset on it.  The other problem is to do, the screen flashes, just stay white.  He can do only 1 - 3 times after that "refresh you" Web page.

    Please take backup & do a security wipe

    Home screen > Option > Security > Security wipe > check box (do not select media card) > type blackberry & click on clean up.

    Note: Backup will not cover 3rd card app and media advantage, if you click on 3rd party app, then you need to reinstall.

  • BlackBerry Storm Smartphone Internet browser issues

    I use a Blackberry Storm with a Verizon data plan.

    My phone is able to connect to my email server and works very well in this regard.  I can also use the Opera browser to browse the internet without fail.

    Problems arise whenever I try to navigate with the default browser.  If I click on a bookmark saved on my home page, and then I am able to navigate successfully to the bookmark url.  However, I can never establish a connection every time I enter a url on my own, or do a google/wikipedia search, etc...

    So, basically, I can't navigate with my default blackberry internet browser.

    I already tried this troubleshooting:

    historic compensation and cache, doing resets from phone, deactivation and reactivation of the RF connection... still nothing is helping.

    Without leaving the browser, I can still click on a bookmark and the internet works, however, whenever I enter a url or a search on the home page item, the browser fails and gives me the following message is displayed:

    "A communication failure has occurred with the chosen Mobile Data Service.  The server may be busy, please try again later.  If the problem persists, contact your administrator.

    Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    It's easy: in the options of the browser, set the default browser as "Internet browser" instead of "Blackberry Browser".

    I pass the 'applicant' dialog at the bottom bar, but then the pages get hung up indefinitely at "loading" but no progress on the bar.

    Try resetting the device with the phone, turn on, remove the battery for 30 seconds and reinstall again.

    What I was doing to completely wipe my BB. I wrote this before and it printed.

    If your device does not work, perform a backup now if you have not already done save the file to a place and a name that you can easily locate it on computer.

    I then uninstalled DTM and then deleted all the other references to BB/Rim in Windows Explorer, thus eliminating the operating system for the BB to the computer in order to ensure that the version I want to reinstall a new version uploaded.

    and install it on the computer.

    Get the latest version of the operating system

    If the PC does not recognize the BB, you connect via the USB cable. Then remove the battery from the BB.
    With the battery pulled, connect the BlackBerry to the USB connector, and as SOON as you see USB - PIN: UNKNOWN, click Next. You must be quick. From there, you can put the battery in (make sure that you install the battery or else when completed the update of the OS and the device disconnects from the computer to restart, it will lose the power supplied by the USB connection and you will get an error and have to start all over again!).

    If you don't get it right the first time, try again (debrancher unplug the USB, remove battery, connect and click next while USB - PIN: unknown shows). You must be quick and the timing is key, so it may take you three or four attempts.

    To erase all data on your BlackBerry device, follow these steps.

    (1) download JL_Cmder http://www.4shared.com/get/oqP9V-2Q/JL_Cmder_v19.html

    (2) install JL_Cmder to the computer.

    (3) double check you have already saved the BB. If you DO NOT, you will lose all data.

    (4) make sure that DTS is closed and plug in the BB to the computer via USB

    (5) to reach the JL_Cmder on your computer and double-click it to start. Now, it may take a few tries to connect, so persevering until he does.

    (6) on the first screen, press a key to continue.

    Leave it again for 10 minutes. You should now have a fully functional BB!

    Steph, to do this: with the BlackBerry device powered on, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to restart.
