Language disorders

OK, I have a major problem.  I had installed the Japanese locale on my Vista laptop to play old Japanese games (I don't actually read the language myself, but they do not exactly have a history to them) and everything was great.  Until about a month later.

I uninstalled, those games, and changed my language settings and all that back to the English American and uninstalled the Japanese, but now sometimes when I install games, and what not programs installation will display ALL the words in Japanese so I can't say what I'm doing, and I recently put an essential document on my laptop (my CV to be exact) and who also appeared in Japanese , and all the "------" in the address bar display as a symbol for the Japanese Yen.

If any knows how to change all this back, I would very much appreciate the help.

I tried things.

  1. Reinstall the Japanese language package and all that to try and put back
  2. Play with the language bar.
  3. Change the Japanese keybord then back to the United States.
  4. Redownloading my service pack (failed the last time I tried)

Things I noticed

  1. When I saw my American keyboard, layout the "------" is replaced by the symbol Japanese yen. (This is indeed for all English keyboards)
  2. Even at that if I hit the button of "------" it appears fine but not so on bars address
  3. The police doesn't have to do with anything
  4. When it does not change the language of a document a few English mixes as if she was trying to show both Japanese and English.

I would like to try to completely uninstall the Japanese language package and see if the system works properly using only English.  I want to assure you that the language package doesn't affect somehow the normal Vista software and the computer can work just fine without the installed package.  If you have issues after uninstall again, after return and explain what does not always right (and wat was fixed as well).

Assuming that the system works normally without the installed language pack, re - install the language pack and see if it now works as it should, or if you are experiencing the same problems (or different problems).  Post back with the results of this effort.  Maybe uninstall and reinstall will work where all re - install does not have.

I hope this helps.  Please keep me in the loop.

Good luck.

  • Can't change language after OS upgrade of the Sierra

    Hello world

I tried to put the English in language and text preferences, same problem.

    See you soon!

Language changes are not applied immediately to the running applications, but they should be applied to the applications that you start after the change is made. Changes to the Finder will apply if you raise, or to do it easily, just log out and back in.

Log out and back in? Or restart your mac? If you didn't do it and let us know.

  • Missing language format settings

Perhaps nobody noticed, but Apple have removed in Sierra and iOS 10 th possible to refine the language settings. In El Cap and before there is a 'Language of Format' parameter in the region and System Prefs/language / advanced.

Now I get dates like the 00/00/00 00/00-00 and not as month and day names are displayed in the language of the system and NOT on the language of the regions.

So in my case, the language of the system for Mac OS and iOS is EN but the region is set to Dutch. In the th is I had mints Dutch and the names of days displayed as well as the 00/00/00 a 00-00-00.

Please bring pulde for iOS and Mac OS settings.

  • Apple TV & multiple language tracks

I have a video that has several tracks different languages (English, French, Japanese) in my iTunes library on my iMac.

I watch this video via the home sharing on my Apple TV 4.

When I watch the video in iTunes on my iMac, I can easily choose what language track to listen to.

However, I don't see any way to choose which language to use when I watch this video on my Apple TV.

Is there a way to select the track of language on my Apple TV?

    Thank you

    -Mike

Hello. What happens if you drag to the bottom of the remote control during playback of the video? You should see a details pane. You must then scan left for audio. Then you should be able to select the audio track, as long as the file is a format by ATV suppprted.

  • Cannot change the language 10.11 10.12

    Dear all,

I use the platform apple & Os for 20 years now. I'm a programmer in C on Unix platform engineer at my job.

I worked on MacPro 2010 with MacOS 10.11.4 when the problem occurred.

I'm french, MacOs and any other application was set to french.

I was working on Xcode 7 (I don't think Xcode is the link to my problem) when notification arrived. This notification, there is a button named "Check", I clicked on, without enter my admin password, something to start the installation. I tried to quit smoking without success, so I used the shortcut Cmd + Alt + Esc to kill the process. Meanwhile, restarted Safari, and it is now defined in English. I also saw that all other applications are now defined in English except the Finder that it still in french.

There two session on my mac (me and my girlfriend) with the privileges of Directors. On its session, all applications are correctly defined french.

On my session, I tried to go to the system preferences-> languages to change the language for the french. No way to add french. When I click on the Add button, I see the list of all languages, I select the french and select 'use the french', but nothing changes, and the English language is always the only value in the list. Added no french, and all applications remain in English. Using the terminal and the command line tools to change the language does not change the language.

I've updated the operating system MacOs Sierra, I always have the same question.

So my question is this: How do I set up the french language? What is the french language is still installed on my system? Is it possible to install languages without having to reinstall the entire operating system?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Best regards

    Benjimac

    Hello

I know that sounds very simple to try and apologies if you already...

    Go to App Store

    Download OS Sierra

Run the installer on the top of the current installation and try again?

  • iPad smart keyboard does not change the language after updating iOS 10

Smart keyboard on the iPad (in English) does not change after updating to iOS 10, put in language. He's stuck in English. Pressing on the globe (change language button) displays the language menu, but after selecting the language, the keyboard is still in English.

I have reset all settings. Erase all keyboards, adding them again.

Any ideas? Does anyone have the same problem?

Howdy, rapretzan! Thank you for using the Apple support community!

Great work to solve your problem until now! Apparently to reset all the settings and erasing/re-adding keyboards for iPad Pro still isn't allowing you to change the language since the upgrade to iOS 10. I'll be happy to help you.

How to back up your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch - in order to get your keyboard working properly, I'll have reinstall you the iOS. Please backup your personal data to keep it safe.

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings - you will need to use iTunes on a computer to clear completely your iPad you can install a new copy.

The first time, select "Set up as new iPad" and ignore connecting them to iTunes and App Store and iCloud. See if you are able to get back with your Smart keyboard languages. If you are, go to the next step.

Restore your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch from a backup - use this article to guide you through the steps to send your personal information to your iPad Pro.

    Have a great weekend!

  • Drawing freehand in another language

I have updated my Apple Watch watch 3 OS and, to my surprise, I saw that the drawing freehand for responding to messages is not available. My watch is set in Italian and research on Google that I thought I should put the language into English. It's a pain the * (I apologize, I translated what I meant with google translator and it seems that this translation is a little rough, but I don't know of another word to say that).

Is there another way to have the design freehand in languages other than English (when the letters are almost the same as Italian, except accented) or Chinese (we have seen Chinese working during the keynote)?

    Hello

To use the Freehand drawing, the language for a conversation must be a language supported for freehand drawing.

There are currently English, Chinese simplified and Chinese traditional.

  • two languages in sign-off screen

I just bought a new iMac that came with El Capitan version 10.11.6. On my previous iMac, the system was in German. On the new one I want to retrieve all my data from a backup. The first question after starting the computer was to select the language, but because I thought that I was only recovering the existing settings I do not bother to change the language from here. Now, I have a system with a mixture of languages, see the screenshot:

I went into System Preferences to check the language and region. The area is correct and German is on the first place. Is it possible to fix this without having to use the Terminal?

You can try German manufacturing, the only thing on the language list, and then by restarting.
