Language of the login screen is still Norwegian, although English is the main language

Hello community.

I have my RT Surface in Norway and original language was Norwegian.
I downloaded the English (United States) language pack and successfully applied.
Now, English is my first language in the system and user interface is in English, with the exception of the login screen.
Login screen where to retrieve a user to connect is still in Norwegian.
Does anyone know how to activate English for the login screen?
Thank you in advance.

Hi Pascal,.

This problem may occur if the Welcome screen language settings are change.

I suggest you to check the language settings of the user welcome screen.

a. type in the right edge of the screen, and then click search. (If you use a mouse, point to the upper right of the screen, move the pointer of the mouse down and then click Find.)
b. type Control Panel in the start search box.
c. Select the language from the option and click on settings in advance.
d. check the language settings to apply the login screen.

Hope this information is useful.

    Hello

    I have Acer Aspire ATC-605-UR13.

In the course of the last 4 weeks, suddenly the keyboard is not detected at the login screen. The mouse works.

Still, I have to restart to make the keyboard work.

  • Mouse and keyboard not working only not to the login screen

Hi, I was recently infected with Antispyware Soft virus. In my attempt to remove it, my screen went black, so I had to restart my computer. Entering my login screen, I was unable to connect because my keyboard and mouse no longer works. I tried to start the safe mode too and they still do not work on the login screen. However, they work at the start of the BIOS. I looked around, but I couldn't find any option for Legacy USB drivers. I went to a few USB option and select [Enabled] and it still doesn't work to the login screen. I have no PS2 port, so I can't try it. I was also able to use my mouse and keyboard when you attempt a repair of the system to do a system restore, but that solves nothing. I am at a loss what to do. I hope someone is late, as I'll be gone tomorrow/more day late today. I am writing a computer laptop and unable to remember any care my office except the fact, it's Windows Vista.

    Hi HellMuT1,

We recommend to use a different mouse and keyboard, then check the result. If the problem persists, try the following steps.
    1. Insert Windows Vista DVD.
    2. restart your computer.
    3. let the computer restart (boot) from the DVD.
    4. If you are prompted, press a key to continue.
    5. When you reach the screen install Windows, select your preferences in the language to install, time and currency format and keyboard or input method boxes, and then click Next.
    6. do not click on install now. Instead, click on repair your computer. The System Recovery Options dialog box appears.
    7. make sure that the appropriate operating system is selected, and then click Next.
    8. After you click Next, the System Recovery Options menu appears.
    9. click on command prompt.
    10. type devmgmt.msc and press enter
    11. on the window Device Manager, in the object list, expand mice and other pointing devices.
    12. make a right click the sub element and click on uninstall.
    13 expand keyboards.
    14. make a right click the sub element and click on uninstall.
    15. Type exit and press ENTER to restart the computer.
    16. remove Vista DVD and restart the computer to see if the keyboard and mouse works fine.

    I hope this helps.

  • Lot of keyboard to the login screen

Hi, I have a really weird problem.

The Swiss German keyboard layout is different from the provision of the United States, for example 'z' and 'y' are reversed. My user password contained a 'z', assume that it is "Gazebo.1".

When I try to connect with "Gazebo.1", I get an error message. However, when I login with "Gayebo.1", it works. Subsequently, everything is in Switzerland-German, user interface, keyboard, etc. I don't even have the United States available in the Control Panel keyboard layout.

I had the problem that the login screen was in English, for example, I saw 'Guest user' instead of the German word "Gastbenutzer". I was able to change it with the command "sudo languagesetup". I guess I should do something similar to change the keyboard layout of startup.

    All advice what to do?

Check first for what is obvious: OS X El Capitan: set your Mac to connect when not in service

From what you describe, you use actively the Mac in such a case is not likely to be a factor anyway.

    • Are a crash reports generated?
    • You have any peripheral external display connected?
    • Do you know have installed all OS X third party changes, anything, but specifically those who may come into conflict with GPU automatic pass? A sure start will eliminate this uncertainty.
    • Reset the SMC.

  • After that windows update computer now hangs at the login screen, no error message, just restarts.

I have tried safe mode, does the same thing; tried to use the Windows Vista disc to do a repair, no luck; also I tried restoring the system (from disk), no restore points however.
The problem appeared after restarting the computer during the night.  The problem began to be able to connect, but the screen would go blank with just a pointer (KSOD).  Has tried some of the suggestions on this problem, including by eliminating sys newspapers, which did not work as well as reinstalling the video driver, with no luck.  Finally tried a system restore, returned 1 week (before the windows updates).  Now, the computer becomes just the login screen sits there for about 5-10 seconds then restarts immediately.

I just had this happen to my laptop that has no external references. This is a new (September 09) ASUS K50ij with Vista 64-bit installed. I bought the Win 7 OS to replace, but have been waiting for the time to play with it... Last Monday, the update itself and invited to restart so I have done what I was busy with and enabled him to restart which is the only thing to do now... restart, the blue screen for a nano-second, then restart... etc. Same problem with safe mode and safe mode with networking, or with the box... anyway, someone very smart recommended that I use another computer (Fortunately, I have several) to download free Imgburn (which works easily), then get Ubuntu (Linux Operating System free download) burn image from the Ubuntu disc, put the disc in the drive of the computer crashed (there is a little hole next to the button you) can insert in a safety pin to release the door when the power is off) change the setting in the BIOS of the computer has crashed by restarting and pressing F2 until you get the menu BIOS... go to the start menu and choose Start from the CD, and then press ENTER. When the computer starts, it will see the drive and go to a menu to select the language, then next choice is "try Ubuntu without making any changes to the computer. It will boot the disk and allow you to view and copy ALL your files off the power on an external drive, which is what I did... including my Outlook .pst files that include all my saved emails my calendar and contacts, etc! WOOHOO! has got all my photos, documents, etc. The only thing that I didn't know how to get is my favorite... How to enter in the browser from another computer.

If after this, an hour or more than make sure I got all the important data... I decided to see if anyone had a solution to this problem just fixing... I probably won't update again because Microsoft sends them and offers no solutions to the problems they have caused and nobody pays me for all the time I've lost get to get my stuff back and also to solve the problem they have caused. A update on my other laptop Win 7 zapped my outlook program and even reinstall it didn't solve this problem, even more work to do there, but looking in the files using Ubuntu's File Explorer, I found a hidden file that is used to repair the files .pst outlook called scanpst, or something that nearby.

In any case, if someone has a solution to uninstall the recent update or to determine how it corrupted my user profile (which is the general consensus) please let me know.
Thank you and good luck to you!

  • Is it possible to display a dialog box with the fields/custom controls for the Windows Vista login screen to the top.

    Hello

In Windows XP (prior to Windows Vista), a Service could be interactive and display a window/dialog on the login screen.

Of course services are no longer allowed to be interactive, and certainly, I agree that it is an improvement in security.

However, say if I wanted to do one of the following values, which is possible (and how to implement). I don't mind what language I have to set in.

    (1) add a button in the login screen that says "Reset Password" which will then invite a form with questions of security.

    (2) run an application within the login window

Really appreciate any help on this matter,

  • Vista will not go past the login screen.

Recently, I added 2 user accounts for my children.  When I restarted windows would load the login screen, it would go no further.  I click on any of the newspaper in the icons or the icon close / restart and they apear highlighted, but nothing happens.  CTRl ALT DEL does not work either.  I've tired of loading in safe mode and may still not exceed this screen.  I tried restoring the sytem using F11 and select System Restore, and once again, I get to the login screen and will not move any further.

If the system restore does not work, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a disc, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

    I hope this helps.

  • U2515H, black screen with error during startup until the Windows login screen

It is a half frustrating work situation.

    Was doing this:

display port HDMI card--> cable HDMI - HDMI--> HDMI U2515H port

This configuration has worked in Windows 7, with a 2560 x 1440 resolution reached.

However, when you perform a reboot of the machine, the screen went black and impossible to display the BIOS POST screen (these text showing the amount of RAM you have, what are the HD detected, etc.). In addition, there was an error message on screen, saying:

"The current moment of entry is not supported by the display. Please change your timing of entry to 2560 x 1440, 60 Hz or any other listed monitor calendar according to the characteristics of the monitor"

The message error and white screen persists until Windows loaded to the login screen. This means that I can't see even the Windows logo, or the safe mode selection screen if I press F8.

It's so no way for me to go into the BIOS to change any parameter, or do a boot was secure.

Tried to use a DVI-HDMI converter and also a DVI-HDMI cable to make use of the DVI port of my video card. Still the same error as above. Worse still, this implementation does not work in Windows 7, gives me a white screen.

I'm sure the DVI port on my video card works, cos it can work with my old Samsung monitor. Inspired by the present, the steps to be followed to the letter, may force the U2515H to show the BIOS screen:

    1. stop down and power down the computer.

2 port DVI video card-->--> old Samsung monitor DVI port DVI - DVI cable

    3. turn on your computer. The screen of the MESSAGE on the Samsung monitor.

    4. go into the BIOS by pressing del screen

5 disconnect the cable DVI - DVI video card DVI port.

    6 port card video--> cable DVI DVI - HDMI--> HDMI U2515H port

The thing is, if I have to keep the old monitor, why bother to buy the new U2515H from Dell?

So, how can I get the U2515H to accept the signal from my video card during the POST screen and the start-up phase, without going through the tedious steps each time? Thanks in advance!

    Material:

motherboard: Asus P5K - E Wifi (latest version of the BIOS)

video card: Galaxy 8800GT (DVI, HDMI)

It seems that your motherboard ASUS has a slot PCIe x 16 blue. If one of the beaches mid PCIe x 16 graphics cards will suffice. Go here. I have this sort by Nvidia PCIe x 16 2.0 video cards, low to high price. You look for one with DP or CDM. Or simply go to a local store and search the PCIe x 16 video cards with DP or CDM.

  • How to make Windows 7 see the list of the user on the login screen, not just the last logged-on user

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit and have two user accounts on my computer. Problem is that the login screen shows only the last logged user and one "other users" button which allows you to manually enter the username. Is it possible to return to the display of a list of all users instead?

    Jon

OK... I found how to fix this problem. I know it's a few years since this topic (and most of the people moved to windows 8) but for those who are still Windows 7 who are tired to type the user name, whenever you log in, here is how to display the icons of the user:

WARNING: This patch is not a hack. I do not use any third party software. I am simply change a security setting in the windows system. The longest part is to find the file. As much as I would like to say that this will fix all computers, I can't guarantee that this will be the solution for your system. This fixed my problem because my just setting should be disabled. That being said, let's move.

As an admin (must be in an account that has administrator privileges) click the Start button and in the search at the bottom of the opening bar, the type of menu "Edit Group Policy" and press on enter. When the local Group Policy Editor window appears, click on the following arrows in the left column to expand the lists to find the file to change...

    > Computer configuration

    > Windows settings

    > Security settings

    > Local policies

    Security options<-Click on="" this="" file="" name="" or="" icon="" (the="" arrow="" icon="" won't="" do="">

In the right menu appears a bunch of system settings, find the one that we called "Interactive logon: do not display last user name" This is the setting which will no doubt say "Enabled" beside him. Right-click on the file and select 'Properties', then disable the setting. Restart your computer and you should be good to go!
