Languages Smartphones BB8830 blackBerry

I would like to pick a couple of different languages for my BB8830.  Yet, when I go to Wizard Setup and from there to Langauges.  I have only 2 choices is English and English (United States).  Following the instructions told me that if I want a different language, I have to enter.

I can't find any place on the BB8830 which has a list of alternatives to choose another language, nor can I type the name of any language.

Does anyone know how to add another language?

Thank you.

Thank you!  I'll look in obtaining this upgrade multilingual by contacting Verizon Wireless, I just buy my BB8830.

If that's the case, then this account ID to BB is probably lost for good... all activities must have access to the email address and the email address is the same as the user name, if there is a mistake, then there is no way to receive emails of validation required in order to continue to use this BB ID.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Indian (Hindi) language support on Blackberry Torch 9800

    Hello

I saw my colleagues read specifically the Indian language Hindi on their Blackberry smartphones. However, even does not work for me, in applications such as Facebook, instead of the local language it shows only special characters.

I tried searching and found that we can add languages through the Desktop Manager > Applications > Langauge Support. However there is no option under Applications as language.

    Please help on this.

    Kind regards

    Hello

Hindi is supported on BB Torch(Read/Write). You can even type the keyboard to the Hindi screen.

    To install Hindi fonts:

    Go BB Desktop Software--> Applications

In applications under Asian language press select and choose Hindi (click the sign '+' to download and install.)

Could you please help me find how to add a French in the other available Mo?

    Thanks in advance! :-)

You would need to install an OS of a carrier that would include normally languages French or European.  Here are some instructions:

    1. start by searching for your operator and the system operating file that you want to use. I would like to use check European carriers (any carrier will work as long as the OS is for your type of device).  It is easier if you install the same version number you already have, you will be able to just install that language and not the rest of the operating system, but if you're updating to a newer version which is OK for... just takes a few extra minutes.  Make sure that the operating system download you shows as "multilingual".

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

    2. it's not bad to do a manual of your device first, backup using the Desktop Manager > backup. Close at the end Office Manager and disconnect it from BlackBerry. You can get the BlackBerry Desktop Software here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/

    3. download the OS from step 1 of the file on the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Also, check the following locations for the vendor.xml file and delete all instances of the file:

On Windows Vista/7, go to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research in XML Motion\BlackBerry\Loader (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

On Windows XP, go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application is In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

    5. connect the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader

Pay attention to languages that are being installed and make sure you inlcude what you want.

  • Language out of blackBerry Smartphones

I have a new BlackBerry "BOLD".

I can't accept American English as my default language for outgoing messages.  It's funny, but annoying, since I can't just do an alt + $ without coming up with and the English pound symbol.  And spell check is always trying to change my spelling in British English.

Here's what I've tried so far:

Toolbox: typing and language: language: input language: manage

I get this far, but the English (United Kingdom) and English (United States) are checked and I can't uncheck or remove British English.

Physical keyboard input; Voice dialing; & Voice Search are all set to English (United States), but I can't always type in American English.

    Bright ideas?

PS: I bought the phone at a Verizon Wireless store.  I disabled all other languages in the menu Input Language/manage.

    Thank you very much

Strange, even I can change between American and British English, and I have a Norwegian! Are you sure that English U.S. is installed on your device? It's pretty easy to do if you have a computer with Desktop software and a USB cable.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Portuguese (Brazil) language input for BlackBerry Torch 9860 3 Optus Australia

Hello! Can someone help me please? I write a lot of texts and emails in Brazilian Portuguese and it would be very useful if I had it in my camera because the phone is always trying to change my words. I checked the input languages, I already installed on the phone and there is no Portuguese. I tried to check on the desktop software there is no Portuguese there. The software running in my phone is 7.1.0 Bundle 921 (5.1.0.230 platform v7.1.0.267). Thank you.

    Hi lulisbeiro,

You want to do is get a version of the OS that has the languages included.  Try to download the version of Telus Mobility, as it is the same version of the OS, but has all of the included languages.  You can download it here (simply select the 9860 Torch in the dropdown menu drop-down):

    https://swdownloads.BlackBerry.com/downloads/entry.do?code=02A32AD2669E6FE298E607FE7CC0E1A0

Once you have downloaded the OS, install it on your computer, and then reload the operating system using the following steps:

    1. Above all, back up your BlackBerry device.  Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager and select backup and restore.  In the next screen, select backup and perform a full backup of your data on the device.  Note the location of the backup file (usually in the Documents folder).  Close the BlackBerry Desktop Manager and let your connected device.
    2. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common search in Motion\AppLoader\ and delete the Vendor.xml file.  Then, open the Loader.exe file in the same folder.  On 64-bit computers, the file is located in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader.  According to the settings on your computer, you may need to show hidden folders (under file > Options for Windows XP or organize > folder and Search Options in Windows Vista).
    3. After the configuration of the aircraft has been recovered, you will be on the device Application selection page.  You can scroll through the list for all desired applications are selected.  You can also deselect all applications that you do not use to save space.  Click Next.
    4. On the next page, click on the Advanced button.  Check the two checkboxes (delete all application data and delete all currently installed applications) are checked.  Click Next.
    5. To proceed with the OS reinstall.  Note that this process can take 10 to 30 minutes (usually about 10 minutes).  Do not unplug the device.
    6. Once the process is complete, open the BlackBerry Desktop Manager.  Select backup and restore and open the restore application.  Select the file to restore (Backup-(Year-Month-Day) .ipd) and click Open.  Follow the steps to restore your device.
    7. Re-activate your connection to device by clicking on manage connections and turn on your Mobile network.  Download all the missing applications and re - connect to any device BlueTooth and you have completed.

  • BlackBerry smartphones is supported for the East Asian languages for the Blackberry Bold 9780 on O2?

Hello, I hope someone can help me with my problem. I'm new to the whole Blackberry I just bought my first BB camera a few days ago so please understand if I don't know what words are in the world of Blackberry. The questions will be in bold.

So, I recently bought a Blackberry Bold 9780 and I am very satisfied with the overall product. However I was wondering if there was support for the East Asian languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean etc) for my 9780 BB which is on O2 UK.

Right now, in my languages options, I can only entry for most European languages (English, Spanish, French, etc.) There are no options for languages of East Asia at all. When I try to display all messages or go on the browser which are languages of East Asia, I don't see one set of black boxes.

I know there are software updates to update your device to take charge of specific languages, so I checked the software downloads page that interests me.

O2 - UK users, they have two packages:

-BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.905 (all languages)

    Package Version: 6.0.0.905
    Composed of:

    • Applications: 6.0.0.294
    • Software platform: 6.5.0.54
    • File name: 9780AllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel905_PL6.5.0.54_A6.0.0.294_O2_UK.exe
    • File size: 180,72 MB

    -BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.0905 (Multilingual)

    Package Version: 6.0.0.905
    Composed of:

    • Applications: 6.0.0.294
    • Software platform: 6.5.0.54
    • File name: 9780jAllLang_PBr6.0.0_rel905_PL6.5.0.54_A6.0.0.294_O2_UK.exe
    • File size: 185,61 MB

Then How do I know which package I currently installed on my device because the application number and the number of software are identical.

On my device it details shows: v6.0.0.294, (905 Bundle, platform 6.5.0.54)

So I wonder if none of the above two packages have the option to enable East Asian language support.

I'm sure I have the latest update for my camera that I can't update more far depending on the desktop software and my phone. So If I move to another package, how do I go to do?

I mainly use a MAC, but I can also have access to a PC too. I don't know if it's important, but I think that there is a difference between the Desktop software on each computer that is used to update your software.

If possible, it is that I would be able to download another package that has the support of another service provider East Asia and update on my own? Or is it too risky because it may crash my machine?

And my last question, so it is likely that O2 can do in the near future if there is no option for the language support East Asia now,?

Sorry if I rambled on a bit too much or too many questions. I just want to know if its possible to enable language support is now, otherwise I will waste countless hours looking for a method. I looked to see if there were similar questions, asked the Board of Directors, but none was really specific to my needs.

A big thank you to everyone who sits reading through this. I appreciate the responses.

    Thank you.

Do not know if you understand how to do this, but I did these steps and it worked fine:

    1. https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=7D2A383E54274888B4B73B97E1AAA491&dl=... go here and download the version of v6.0.0.0905 (Multilingual) BlackBerry Handheld Software.

2 install the downloaded OS on your computer, you need the files of this new OS more later to add multi language support for your BlackBerry device.
    C:\Program Files\Common search in Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9780AllLang_v6.0.0.294_P6.5.0.54
The CJK.alx is the file that you will use later.

    3. use Desktop Manager to save your BlackBerry (better safe than sorry)

    4. before installation, go to your AppLoader folder, for example C:\Program Files Research In Motion\AppLoader and move the Vendor.xml to a backup directory, if you have kept a copy of the file. The loader.exe allows to load up the AppLoader, follow the instructions in the wizard.

He automatically gave me a list of applications and languages, if you scroll down see you East Asian languages check those you want that I checked Japanese and Thai language and font support. If you do not see these click on 'Add' at the top and navigate to the CJK.alx file.

So let the application loader it's thing, after that everything should work.

Hope this works for you also. I take no responsibility of bricking your phone.

BlackBerry should be an option to install more languages via the phone.

  • Smartphones to blackBerry after the Application update the only language chosen is English

    Hello

    I just bought a Bold 9700 today.

After installing the Desktop Manager (Mac) and hang the Blackberry to my Mac, I went to the Applications tab and installed a few additional applications. After the restarted blackberry the menu language is set to English (instead of German, like it was before), so I went into options to return to the German, but the only option is English.

Did someone knows how can I get German as a language?

    Matt

The problem ist that I don't have a PC, one a Mac, so updating the firmware etc does not work for me.

I actually had a Trial Version of Parallels + Windows lying around, installed that, installed Windows Desktop Manager and then just reinstall Applications, now I can use the German language again. I still have no idea why, if I use the Mac Desktop Manager, it removes the German language files and even though I have check boxes to install them, it is not actually install them. I guess I'll just try not to use the Application Setup and everything will be fine... It all sounds pretty weird, but I can't find another solution.

Thanks for your help guys if!

  • Language options of Smartphones from blackBerry in the firmware

    Hello

So I have a Bold 9700 user on a support. He wants to be able to have the possibility to type in Japanese.

I checked the carrier's Web site, and there are the following options:

    MultiLanguage
All languages - languages of East Asia included
    East Asia

    I'm confused, lol.

Which should I download on the device? Am I right in thinking that:

    (i) "EastAsia" means the far East fonts?

(II) "multilingual" is only the Western languages?

(III) what I want is 'All languages - languages of East Asia included' to offer the possibility to choose between English and Japanese?

Or I'm getting this all wrong

    Sheen says:

Or I'm getting this all wrong

    You are very close!

    Sheen says:

    (i) "EastAsia" means the far East fonts?

And English, all versions of BlackBerry operating system include English.

(II) "multilingual" is only the Western languages?

That's right, for the most part, Yes.

(III) what I want is 'All languages - languages of East Asia included' to offer the possibility to choose between English and Japanese?

Who should serve you as well, as well as #1 above. I'd go with #1, since it will include less languages, a smaller file.

  • Languages of transfer blackBerry Smartphones, the themes and Apps for MiniSD

    Hello

    Just a quick question;

If I transfer languages, themes and applications that I don't really use offten to my MiniSD card will be able to use them because they were in my internal memory?

    Thank you!

    Hello and welcome!

On a BB, you don't have the same control on which things are installed. Apps to go only to a location when you install them, and you can't move them. I know that in WM you can choose to install the apps from the expansion card or internal memory - you have no choice in BB. The SD card is generally used for things that are really data storage (multimedia files, documents, etc.). If you have saved an original installation (.jad?) file in the internal memory, then that is indeed a data file... it created files of the application when you install and which should stay where they were installed in. only the data file (the .jad file, for example) can be moved to SD.

    Best.

  • Adding a (mostly Korean) language in my Blackberry Bold 9900 - Device Software 7.1.0.41 smart blackBerry Bundle 42 - phones software version 7.1. Bundle 1149

    Hello

After I lost my previous 9900 BB, I got a new (same number, same carrier, same plan).

With this new 9900 BB, I can not add the Korean language (or any language) on it while with my old one, I might add it through the software for device through "Applications".

I did some research on the internet, and everything that I could find is that: I have to use the device software and add it in the 'Applications' section by clicking on the icon "+" beside the straight line that appears when I develop the section "basic Blackberry Applications.

But I can't find the 'Basic Blackberry Applications' section in the 'Applications' on the software of the device! Nor any relating to the language section. All I can see through the "Applications" on the device software is the apps that I have already installed on my device.

I'm looking for the line "basic Blackberry Applications.

Or y at - it another way to add the Korean language on my device?

Please help me ~ I need to write in Korean when I write to my family.

FYI, my operator is Bouygues Telecom (France).

    Hello

Start by looking carefully for this KB:

    • KB05305 Location of support for BlackBerry smartphones

That will tell you what bundle of BONES, in the file name of packages, to get and use in step 3 below.

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

    1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

    (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

    (3) download and install to your PC, the BB OS package you want:

    (4) If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

    • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

    (5) run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC. If, during the process, your BB votre BB a '507' error, simply unplug the power cord of the BB USB and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

    Do not forget to save.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:
