Language options of Smartphones from blackBerry in the firmware

Hello

So I have a Bold 9700 user on a support. He wants to be able to have the possibility to type in Japanese.

I checked the carrier's Web site, and there are the following options:

MultiLanguage
All languages - languages of East Asia included
East Asia

I'm confused, lol.

Which should I download on the device? Am I right in thinking that:

(i) "EastAsia" means the far East fonts?

(II) "multilingual" is only the Western languages?

(III) what I want is 'All languages - languages of East Asia included' to offer the possibility to choose between English and Japanese?

Or I'm getting this all wrong

You are very close!

Sheen says:

(i) "EastAsia" means the far East fonts?

And English, all versions of BlackBerry operating system include English.

(II) "multilingual" is only the Western languages?

That's right, for the most part, Yes.

(III) what I want is 'All languages - languages of East Asia included' to offer the possibility to choose between English and Japanese?

Who should serve you as well, as well as #1 above. I'd go with #1, since it will include less languages, a smaller file.

  • Camera problems of Smartphones from blackBerry after 8100 Firmware update to v4.5

    Hi all

It is a known issue for me that I'm updating all the handsets of our work with the Blackberry firmware for the company that I work.

After updating the firmware on multiple handsets to the latest version of the Blackberry 8100 4.5, there is a problem with the camera.

When you are in display mode and the outside (even if covered) the screen turns white as if the lens opening is open wide.

Even when you take the picture, the result is white all over.

    Please see examples here:

    and

    http://www.imagedump.com/index.cgi?pick=get&TP=540101

Two of these photos were taken inside with just on fluorescent lights.

However if I return to the firmware to a lower level the problem no longer exists.

I tried to change the settings for the White Balance on the handset and no matter what setting I put it on the same results occure.

I was wondering if there is a patch or I have to wait the next release for a bug fix?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Updated the 4.5.0.55 combined software and the camera problem no longer exists.

  • Option of 'Options' of the Smartphones from blackBerry in the BB Menu button doesn't work is not on the Torch 9800

Whenever I select 'Options' from the drop of the BB Menu button on my Torch 9800, the screen flashes, then back to my home screen. It has been so for a long time (almost a year) and I think that there is a permission that has been disabled inadverdently. It does work if I use the theme BB6 native or other that I downloaded. Anyone know how to make 'Options' to the option to start working again?

    Hi randynjaimie,

Try to back up your data using the BlackBerry® Desktop Software and perform a clean reload of your BlackBerry® Device Software.

For more information, see the following article. How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows. www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/kb11320
Please test to make sure that the problem has been resolved before restoring all the data from your backup file.

  • Icon timer of Smartphones from blackBerry in the middle of the screen

Hey hope someone can help me with this. These days my phone has like a little black box which one could say is like a small clock, because it has a white line that goes around it, as it is counting the time. Anyway the problem is happening constantly if the phone is used or not, and uses my battery. I completely loaded before I went to sleep last night and woke up and the battery has been drained. I removed the battery several times to reset but it did not help. Someone at - it ideas?

You certainly have applications that run in the background, maps, an active web browser page or something of the sort.

Also, make sure that you have disabled memory Cleaner (Options > Security > garbage collection). You don't need it.

To avoid a freezing response development or late / slow on any BlackBerry, most important practice that you can adopt is to ensure applications CLOSE when you are finished using them.

If you simply press the Red "end call" key to return to the home screen application is actually open and running in the background. If you do this several times, you will have many apps open and therefore your memory will get used. Lack of memory is the main reason for your BlackBerry slows to a crawl or crashes. If you make a habit of actually use the menu button to close the applications that will at least slow this process memory-clogging. You may still do a battery pull or using the "Quickpull" app from time to time when things get slow.

To check what applications run on your device in the background, press the Menu key, and then click switching Applications. You will see icons for each application it.

So now, check your applications running in the background. There are four or five applications that will always run fluently (Messages, Call Logs/phone, BlackBerry Messenger, home screen and the browser; there are other third-party applications such as BeeJive and alerts of BlackBerry that will work also in the bottom that you can not close if you want they work). Ensure that the browser is NOT on an active Web page (open the browser and select the Menu > close). Close all other applications that do not need to be running (the camera or a game you were playing or Google Maps).

  • Speaker icon of Smartphones from blackBerry in the upper left corner is gone

Yes, this may be a stupid question, but this is my first blackberry and after a few weeks I don't get all the fuss. I keep reading all these great things about it, but I can't. In fact I currently hate mine. The accompanying cd was no help that's right on by with the instruction book. Nothing happens with my phone, as it is supposed too. I realize that maybe I don't know what I'm doing, but before you return to the store and lose my mind on a poor unexpecting, I'm trying to fix it myself. When I have a trackball in the upper left corner all I get is a black white square, even if I push the trackball, nothing happens. I used to be able to take of loud, silent, vibrate, etc. Now, I have no options. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Whenever random strange behaviors creep, the best thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, this one suffers memory leaks and other... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

  • Icon deletion of Smartphones from blackBerry on the homescreen?

I managed to get an icon on my home screen. I'm trying to remove it. By selecting the icon, and then pushing the "Blackberry" menu button (just to the left) - does give me an option 'remove '. I also tried to go to Options/Device/Application Management... but no mention of the icon in question can't. I have managed to get is titled "Pocket Express.

Anyone know how I could get rid of this icon? Someone else had them appear?

That and others are icons of installation application carrier pushed... nothing more and not a big dea.

After you click "Hide" and the icon becomes transparent, then click Menu > SHOW ALL so that ALL SHOW is not checked. The icon will be hidden.

Really, you can't remove these shortcuts to application "pushed," not very easy installation. It is simpler:

To do this: create a folder on your home screen and name it "Junk" (you can choose to be more creative the folder name ). Now, highlight each unwanted icon and press the Menu key > go to folder and move it to the folder "spam". That, for each, you don't want to do.

Now, highlight this "Junk" folder, and select Menu > hide.

Out of site, out of mind. Meanwhile, feel free to complain to your service provider or on their own user forums. It is not something that BlackBerry on your device.

  • Font size of Smartphones from blackBerry in the text of the Message

I have a BlackBerry Curve 9360. I found how to change the size of the font on my phone but I can't find how to change the size fond of the text of the message in any of my emails. Is it possible to do this operation?

It depends entirely on the email. Are these emails, HTML or text emails gross? Text editor enriched someone sending Outlook allows you to create emails or MS Word. Still, you can't control the font size in the body of an email.

  • Hotkey for Smartphones from blackBerry to the next message does not

I have a Blackberry Tour 9630.  The shortcut of pressing key N to move to the next or message by pressing you to go to the next unread message no longer works.  However, pressing P to go to the previous message works very well.  Anyone know how to fix this?

Sounds like an easy solution.  Remove the battery on the phone while it is on and leave it aside for 30 seconds... It will take 3-5 minutes for the device to reboot.  That usually works

  • Smartphones from blackBerry using the storm with ATT or tmobile

Also how do you have it unlocked through Verizon? If yes they charge fees or what term on getting it unlocked?

This guy won't. I unlocked the storm and I use it on ATT and it's great. If you call Verizon and tell them your going abroad but to use a local SIM card to avoid roaming charges, they will unlock the phone. The only problem I have is that the browser has not been set, but everything else works fine. If anyone knows how to get the phone to accept than the config of the browser in the terms of service, please let me know.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Desktop Manager "disconnected" and I cannot get rid of the error message

I just bought a Blackberry Curve 8530, running v5 software, my computer is Windows 7. I installed the 501_b073_multilanguage software that I downloaded from the site Web of Blackberry. When I run the Desktop Manager I get this message: "Before you start, check that your current BlackBerry device is connected to your computer." Troubleshooting functions I've seen on this forum: many tips (ones I've tried is below). One in particular, that I can't do is "Office Manager shows"off". ".
-Make sure that the user has entered in the Desktop Manager and select options > connection settings > detect. »

... because I can't get rid of the error message dialoge box, and I can't click on the menu options in the BB Desktop Manager.

    I tried the following:

    • uninstalled and reinstalled twice - 2nd uninstall was a "hard" uninstall where I deleted the registry files by hand
    • installs the cable to the USB port at the back (after having tried both ports at the front) of the computer
    • rebooted the computer several times
    • hard starts the phone by removing the battery
    • plugged in, removed and replugged in the phone.

    Also:

    • The phone is properly install when I plug it in, but the software still does not seem to see it.
    • In Device Manager, the BlackBerry appears under portable devices. Double clicking on it gives me the message "this device is working properly." of reassurring.
    • The Com1 port is working properly, according to Device Manager.
    • A double-click on the icon of the Device Manager to get the properties indicates that the Com1 port is "disconnected" - when I try to set it up, it appears just back to the disconnected state.

If someone has an idea or something that I have not tried, I'd be happy of course!

    Thank you!

    K

Good, people, after a phone call from 3 1/2 hour with a (very patient) phone support person to Blackberry, here's what I learned.

You can check your drivers USB in this way:

    1. Plug your phone into your USB key. Assuming that your Blackberry is "seen" by your computer...
    2. Go into the Device Manager on your computer (Panel)
    3. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers at the bottom of the list item
    4. Right-click on the BlackBerry smartphone, and then select Properties
    5. Click on the driver tab
    6. Click the driver Details button
    7. You should see a driver. I saw two. The one like the BlackBerry is the RimUsb one.

So here's what NOT to do: we threw any driver who has been the "extra". This actually made using my mouse and keyboard cannot, because they are USB and my poor husband has sent in the basement to find a million-year-old keyboard (and mouse) with the old fashioned type of connectors (PS2). Bleh. Don't, don't.

Here's what I did that worked (not saything this will work for you - it changes the registry to a backup system with this backup and restore if you are nervous about this kind of thing):

    1. On the start menu, choose run and type regedit into the registry editor.
    2. Follow this path to the file: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, SYSTEM, CurrentControlSet, Control, computer, class
    3. Click: {36FCE60-C465-11CF-8056-4445535400000}
    4. If there is an article called law "UpperFilters", delete it. (See photos)

    Hope this helps someone.

  • LANGUAGE of ENTRY of Smartphones from blackBerry to CHANGE

    Hi all

I need to change the input from my bb to English language to French.

I found where the do in the options...

The problem is that when I get on the default English language entry screen / GB), when I click it, there is only English (United States). No other proposed.

This bb has been offered to me by my former employer, maybe this can help you understand the origin of the problem.

I have lloked on the site of bb to find answers, but without success sofar.

Could you please help me find how to add a French in the other available Mo?

    Thanks in advance! :-)

You would need to install an OS of a carrier that would include normally languages French or European.  Here are some instructions:

    1. start by searching for your operator and the system operating file that you want to use. I would like to use check European carriers (any carrier will work as long as the OS is for your type of device).  It is easier if you install the same version number you already have, you will be able to just install that language and not the rest of the operating system, but if you're updating to a newer version which is OK for... just takes a few extra minutes.  Make sure that the operating system download you shows as "multilingual".

    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp

    2. it's not bad to do a manual of your device first, backup using the Desktop Manager > backup. Close at the end Office Manager and disconnect it from BlackBerry. You can get the BlackBerry Desktop Software here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/

    3. download the OS from step 1 of the file on the PC then install on the PC by running (double click) the downloaded file.

    4. go into c:\program files Research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Also, check the following locations for the vendor.xml file and delete all instances of the file:

On Windows Vista/7, go to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research in XML Motion\BlackBerry\Loader (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

On Windows XP, go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application is In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (where 'YOUR_USER' is your user name)

    5. connect the BlackBerry and double-click on "Loader.exe." It is located in c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader

Pay attention to languages that are being installed and make sure you inlcude what you want.

  • Smartphones from blackBerry Torch 9850, cannot open the e-mail setup application

Now that I have my "brick" problem solved, I can't configure my email.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I suggest the following, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you! If this isn't the case, then you may need to provide some clarification... as exactly what is happening. Your subject line you could not open the e-mail setup application, but the body of your message says that you were unable to set up your email address (which could imply that you could open the configuration of the e-mail application, but it cannot configure the email)... subtle, but the details are what help us help you.

Good luck and let us know!

  • The calls blurred of Smartphones from blackBerry 8800

I need to try to explain what I see happening and perception - so that it is not technically correct, but it is what is happening.

In some offices, the intensity of the signal is not as strong as elsewhere, but enough to run normally. Opportunities, when you make a call, the two arrows blue kick in the stream here and there, and as I see the blackberry is synchronization and pick up a new emails etc.

If the signal is weak and I am on a call and all that data will begin to sink the call gets jammed and breaks down. I can hear the caller, but not clearly.

As I see it, it's as if the Blackberry think - I need to transfer data, there is not enough signal to do all this, so I'll greenhouse signal used by the call so I can always handle this and the flow of data. But this works not just for me. If you cannot hear what is said during the call it is not very useful.

So anyway is to approve this apart from work elsewhere with a better signal? I can for example disable synchronization for a period so that I can make calls effectiely?  I'm misreading of what's going on, and something else can be changed in the settings to mitigate and avoid the problem.

    Thanks for the detailed response.

Temp relief - thank you that's ideal for some long Teleconference until I work how else to cope.
