Laptop for CS4?

Looking to buy a laptop to run CS4, Photoshop mainly. Money is an object! These two machines is planning seriously for a little over $ 800 per person:

Samsung Q430-11

Processor Intel® Core™ i5 / 14 "display / 4 GB memory DDR3 / 500 GB Hard Drive

Processor has a speed of processor 2.4 GHz with Turbo Boost technology up to 2.66 GHz and 3 MB cache.

NVIDIA GeForce 310 M graphics

HP Pavilion dv7

Intel® Core™ i5 - 430 M processor / 17.3 "display / 6 GB memory DDR3 / 640 GB hard drive

Speed of the processor 2.26 GHz with Turbo Boost technology up to 2.53 GHz.

NVIDIA GeForce G 105 M graphics card

I need decent, but not lightening fast performance. All things being equal, I'd rather display the largest, but will live with a screen smaller, if necessary. Or the other of these look like good options? Best laptops for about $800 or less?

Thank you!

Trish

Trish,

I use a Sager for four years now and I am very happy. I do the two PS and video editing then on the little guy. For critical color, however, I always take the image to my desktop with monitors calibrated dual 21 ". There is only so much we can do on a laptop.

One thing that will help you with any computer laptop is a second medical examination (and not on a partition) HARD drive, so that you can distribute your Scratch disks on a separate HARD disk. This becomes more significant with the video work, and a 3 x disc HARD physics is strongly advised. Pure PS work, the third HARD disk is of little importance. Find laptops with a 2 x physical IO is difficult, and find one with 3 x is almost impossible (except the Sager).

Good luck

Hunt

PS - I'm afraid that the passengers could be out of your price targets, but you can get a good idea of what would look like a large edition laptop. Also, don't bother with cards with SLI or Crossfire dual vid. Those who are for extreme games, or 3D work.
