  • Satellite L50-B-1E2 - no boot device

    Hello!

When I turn on my laptop I get the message "" No bootable device - please reboot '. " Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

The message indicates that your laptop can not find boot device.
This means that it cannot boot the system from the HARD disk.

Question: Your HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS?
Switch on and press F2 to enter the BIOS.
On the first page of the BIOS, you should see the details of the disk (size, name)
    Who do you see?

Also I recommend you to check the startup control device.
HARD drive is set as the first boot device?

Last but not least check options: secure boot and UEFI mode
These two options should be activated in case you use Win 8.1
In order to use the other system or to boot from other devices, you will need to disable secure boot

As I said it is a mistake to standard hard drive to Dell machines, who tells you that they do not have or go.

Once replace you a hard drive in this State.

You cannot start Windows if you can't do a backup.

You can try this, but no warranty if:

    Saving your files:

You can remove the hard drive and put it in a hard drive USB enclosure > plug it into another computer > and try to read and copy your data in this way.

Or, you can download Knoppix > make a bootdisk to > start your system with it (IF your material is all work) > and copy your data from the hard drive like that.

Your other option is to recovery specialists of data that are very, very expensive.

Hey! I hope someone can help. When I turn on my HP 2000, 'device not found Boot' message. He invites me to press "F2" to run a system diagnostic test. I still have to perform a memory test. (Because it takes 15 minutes) When I run hard "comprehensive Check" disk, it displays messages, "SMART Check: NO INSTALLED ' and ' Long DST: NO INSTALLED.

Any help would be appreciated MAJORLY!
    Thanks again for any help!

Thank you 1 million for the answer. I have been instructed on step 1 8. Unfortunately does not display the start menu. He said only that the boot device is not found, and then invites me to "install an operating system on my hard drive". As I am not very computer savvy, I have no idea how to proceed.

    1. If the network controller is Bluetooth 4.0, then do install this only & decide all BT pilot questions or need to install the driver of BT in the first link also? If install you it and it supports all bluetooth driver problems then the problem is resolved. If it does then install the other driver as well.

    2. for SM Bus controller - how will I know W7x86 / x 64 or W8 x 64 to install? Click the Start button and then right click on computer, then click Properties. See the description of your operating system in the window that says system. It will tell you if the OS is 64 or 32-bit.

The following image is a virtual hard drive running in my 13 HP spectrum loan which has a 64-bit processor. The Ultimate Windows is a 32-bit version running in VirtualBox.

  • my laptop can not get the boot device

When I turn on my old laptop, it goes to bios and saying: no boot device available strike f1 to not to retry boot, f2 configuration utility, no other options. all get any idea for this problem thx allllllllllllllllll

    Hi isaaq,.

It may be a loose cable connection or the drive may have failed.

Since it is a laptop, the support option are limited.

Depending on the age of the PC, you can contact the manufacturer to see if there is a diagnostic program.

According to the OEM, your recovery disc can have a method of repair installation if it is not hardware fault.
