Laptop Pavilion g7; Computer overheats and turns off

Hello

Last year, I had my laptop, a g7 Windows 8 Pavilion and it was fine for about 5 months, but after that, it began to overheat sometimes and give me the link www.hp.com/go/techcenter/startupward to help. After that he became more frequent and it stops 2 - 5 times a day. Depending on how long it has been used. I would appreciate it if you could help to solve this problem, with purchase of another computer. Thank you!

Hi AG12345,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I've read your threads on your HP Pavilion Notebook g7 and overheating and stop. Here is a link to overheatingas it may be the cause of the closure. If the laptop has dust on the fans, it could be overheating. If this does not help at the end of this document it tells you to do a test equipment. The last thing you should try is tothe BIOS was updated.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.

If I play games or do whatever it is cpu-intensive, it will end by the smell of the burning and power off.

All this time the CPU fan never turns! Just lets him get more hotter and hotter. Strange thing, that's when you start first upward, the spins of CPU fan for about 5-6 seconds to make it work! Already tried to clean it, was not very dirty, the fan is not stuck, it runs if you blow...

Tried all the toshiba utils for cpu temp monitoring etc., they indicate the CPU get more hotter and hotter much more of 60 c +, but none of them (or other 3rd party utils) can detect the fan...!

    > Already tried cleaning...
Yes, but how did you do that?

In the past, I have separated three Satellite M70 notebooks and was surprised inside, how much dust has been placed behind the cooling rack. After notebook professional cleaning was much quieter and has been properly cooled.
Maybe the grease thermal CPU and graphic should be replaced also.
After a long period of use, it seems quite dehydrated.

  • Re: Satellite A200 - overheats and turns off

    Hello

    I had a problem with my A200 series. It heats up to something like 40 ° - 50 ° C, what should I do?

I rarely hear the fan inside, I seldom spend my laptop off aswell

Please help me; thx a lot

    Hi kerplunk36,

I put t know how you checked temperature internal 40-50 ° C, but if this would be the case, everything is ok. That s pretty good temperature and normally nothing should be overheating or turn off.

Right now I can recommend Notepad using compressed air cleaning spray. This could blow in the form of dust fans cooling and, therefore, it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop. As you can see is a very easy and fast way to clean.

My customer told me that the laptop is very hot and it runs about 20 minutes then turns off.
I disassembled it and clean the dust, put the thermal paste on the CPU and VGA.
After mounting it turns on again and it stops more than a minute.

My question is where I hurt, what I can do to solve this problem.

    > This seems to be a problem in the face of most of the people with an Equium a300d but not one that Toshiba is ready to own up to. I have the same problem with my machine, which is 15 months old
    It is a big nonsense!

You will notice a question also on all series of laptop, any manufacturer!
Your laptop is 15 months old! More than 2 years!
Did you clean the fans, cooling grids, etc. during this period?
I imagine that you didn t.

You know that laptop still overheats if cooling modules are full of dust and debris, this prevents air circulation and temperature arises at a higher level!

I clean my vents from time to time with the help of compressed air jet and guess what? It is useful!

Hope someone out there can help you.
I was not able to use my A60-181 for awhile without being constantly plugged to electricity.
And it seems to warm up and turns off.

I bought a new battery, but I still get the same problem... and it is only 2 years old!
Someone has an idea of what I need to do?

In my view, this case is clear. It s a simple overheating. Usually the laptop stops automatically to prevent laptop damage material. Usually, this occurs if the laptop fans twist with speed and maximum performance.

The reason for this behavior could be a dust and debris inside the laptop. Especially after 2 years of work and aspiration, the dust has a bad influence on the rotation of the fan.

The module of cooling for computer laptop cleaning could help!
But if you have no experience of it please contact the technician. It is recommended to clean the fans professionally.

    Hello

I downloaded the windows BIOS update for my Equium A60 (dated 11/15/05) and ran the executable by following the instructions, after ensuring that the current AC has been connected, etc.. The update has got a little more to halfway when the computer turns off suddenly.

    Hi Phil,

Unfortunately, it seems that if the BIOS of your laptop is corrupted. Unfortunately, he didn't there has no easy way for you to correct yourself and you will need to take the phone to your nearest Toshiba Service agent who has the necessary specialized equipment to reflash your CMOS with a new BIOS chip.
