    Hello

My brother gave me his old computer because my motherboard is dead on my own. Given that I had, everything works fine, except when I play a game called PDB. It's a demanding game high for this computer, but I did so the request was lowered so less stress. Even if I did, I always seem to have this restarting my computer error checking problem.
It happens at random through my play time, it will freeze and then just don't reboot, no BSOD. I play other games and even dual boot, watching movies, listening to music and my brother open loads of windows does its job without problem. Come play a game it happens without warning. Game is not slow, I use a voice communication program and I get without stuttering than, just it will freeze and restart instantly or take a few seconds.
I'm running through my integrated graphics card so I think that may be the problem but I'm not set up knowing that this community has, so I turn to you. Thank you.
    Edit: Almost forgot the Minidumps.

    Hello

Follow these steps and check if they help.

    Step 1:

Disable automatic reboot to avoid unwanted restarts on system failure.

    a. when your computer starts up keep press F8 on your keyboard until you get the Advanced Boot Options screen.
    b. now, use the arrow keys, select Disable automatic restart in case of system error and press ENTER.

    Step 2:

Test the issue in a clean boot State.

Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup.

    Step 3:

Update your display drivers and see if that helps.

First you need to set up your system (if it isn't already) to do not automatically restart on system failure and generate a crash dump file that can be analyzed to focus on the problem.  Which will remove the maybe, perhaps, could be, probably a few pilot... ideas.

If you can make it fail when you want while playing your game, which should make things easier.

You are unlikely to find enough clues in case the viewer connects to understand what is happening.

Configure your system does not automatically restart on system failure (this is what he wants to do):

Right click my computer, properties, advanced, startup and recovery settings.

    In the system failure section:

Put a check mark in the box "write an event to the system log.

Put a check mark in the box "send an administrative alert.

    Uncheck 'automatically restart '.

In the Write debugging information section select:

    Partial dump (64 KB)

    Set the directory small dumpster:

    %SystemRoot%\Minidump

    Click OK, OK.

    Restart your computer.

As Gerry C J Cornell says, you can post your dumps up to your SkyDrive and I (or someone else) will be pleased to hear, but that may not be necessary for to do you the following things.  Well... I'll be happy to do so, I can't speak for everyone!

Now, follow these instructions...  One day, maybe the "ask a question" of forums XP dialog box will ask these questions automatically when a new thread is started so I don't have to ask every time.
Please provide additional information on your system:
What is your system brand and model?
Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..
The afflicted system has a CD/DVD drive work?
You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?
Can you make the system crash when you want
?  For example, you would say that there is no specific system activity that coincides with the accidents (like watching videos, playing games, etc.).
The next time your system crashes, provide more information on what you see.

Here's a BSOD example showing information you provide:
Send for the nose and the Red arrows (3 to 4 lines total).
Send all * line STOP message since there are clues in the 4 parameters.
If there is a name of the file listed in the STOP message, don't forget to include this information too.
Ignore the boring text unless it seems important to you.  We know what a BSOD looks like, we need to know what your BSOD looks like.

Now provide more information about your system and data against more recent accidents.
Click Start, run and enter in the box:
    Msinfo32
Click on OK and when the system info summary appears, click on Edition, select all, copy, and then paste the information here.
For information about video drivers, expand components, click view, click on edit, select all, copy and then paste the information here.
There will be some personal information (such as the user name and the name of the system), and anything that turns information private for you, simply delete the pasted information.
This will minimize back Q & A and eliminate guesswork.
    Download BlueScreenView here:
Unzip it and run it (BSV installs nothing) and let him complete the digitization of all your crash dump files.
If you double-click on depressed, you will get information on it (including the field caused by the driver) and you should be able to spot the problem right away - especially if you see a model in landfills where Caused by field pilot is the same (beginning with this driver).
Select (highlight) one or more of the most recent dump files by clicking on them and hold down the CTRL key to select multiple files.  Try to select only the most recent links that relate to your problem (perhaps five or six to start dump files).
Click on file, save selected items and save information from the dumps to a text file on your desktop called BSOD.txt
.  Open BSOD.txt with a text editor, copy the text and paste it in your next reply.
Here's an example of report ASB to a single BSOD I initiated on purpose that indicates the cause of the accident as the pilot i8042prt.sys belonging to Microsoft Corporation:

  • Blue screen and error checking of system IO

I had problems with an external hard drive (USB plug & play) is not recognized. It has been suggested that I have run verifier.exe, I did. Now when I turn on the laptop, it takes forever to start up and then goes to blue screen that reads:

    E/s SYSTEM ERROR CHECKING in wmiacpi.sys (of ERROR DRIVER 20th WDM) [wmiacpi.sys + 152f to BA13A52F]

This does mean that I have to remove this driver and if so, how do I do that? I am running Windows XP.

You can try to remove this driver in Safe Mode:

When your computer is turned on, press and hold your power button, off computer unitl.

Press the power button again and you will be prompted with several options.

    Select safe mode

Wait for all the base drivers to load.

Once you are in Mode safe, click Start, right-click my computerand then click Properties.

It should open a window with several tabs, press the Hardware tab, and then press Device Manager.

Locate your device, then right click and click on uninstall driver.

    Restart your computer.

Windows should automatically attempt to install a driver for your hardware on the startup.

  • Windows Vista SP2, random BSOD with error checking code 0 x 19

    Hi all

I have seemingly random crashes on my old laptop 3 years recently - BSOD with error checking code 0 x 0000019 (0x00000020, 0xe92f4780, 0xe92f48d0, 0x0a2a0440), and BlueScreenView says that accidents are caused by ntkrnlpa.exe and Ntfs.sys. I have absolutely no idea why it happened--unusual does update, none of the material changes & software installations. The system hangs especially after maybe one or two days after starting with some sleep & wake ups inbetween and the only accidents while there are prominent running shows - namely, all the accidents that happened while I was running Firefox. Seconds before the BSoD (shell & all) system simply freezes and does not respond to ctrl + alt + delete, but is still running (as indicated by the fact that once, I forced a power off and after that restart the event log indicates the previous stop at was not planned), then watch the usual BSoD screen.

After doing some googling, I began to suspect that this should be a memory or a hard drive problem, or maybe an overheating causing the two since he not there no significant change of software on my computer recently again issues just appeared without reason. So I cleaned my laptop fan and the heatsink and ensured that the hot air can leave the chassis without being blocked, did some checking of memory with memory auditing Windows - no problems in 5 innings and ran chkdsk on my system partition with all available options - perfectly normal, but the chkdsk has acted quite strangely that check all took about 30 seconds and no normal as the ID information of partition, size etc. that should be there never appeared; is this a normal behavior? or something is wrong with my chkdsk?

I'm still (lol) impatiently waiting for the next crash, not sure whether the problem is still there or not. Meanwhile could you please help me understand what is the problem with my system?

It seems that the disc is the most likely cause. If it is intermittent, it may be difficult to diagnose.

The manufacturer of the laptop provides any diagnosis?  Several manufacturers have a key at startup to access the diagnostics.

CHKDSK should last several minutes. There is information about the different ways to run chkdsk here:

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/67612-check-disk-Chkdsk.html

You can try this disc test program:

    http://www.Seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/SeaTools/

If the version of WIndows does not find anything. Try to use the version BACK from a CD.

You have the misfortune to have a model identifier 6.2 MBP that GPU problems. There was a program of replacement card logic on these models, but that has expired.

To resolve this problem, you can have the logic board replaced at your expense.

As a temporary measure, you can download and install this application:

    https://gfx.IO/

This will cancel the discreet GPU and run the MBP using only the built-in. This will result in a decrease in the graphics performance.

    Ciao.

  • I get error 0 x 24 in Win XP Home, after the system hung over the error checking.

The system is a HP/Compaq Presario SR1575CL running XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3. There is 2 GB of RAM and a 200 GB drive HARD Seagate SATA 1. I don't have a Win XP Home CD, because the BONE was preloaded on the HARD drive. HP put a section of 6 GB recovery (FAT) in the 1 Partition of the HARD drive. The 180 remaining in 2 GB (NTFS) Partition is for the OS and data. Partition 2 is expected to be the bootable partition. Recovery HP option brings back me to the configuration of the facility six years ago.

I was checking the HARD disk with the error checking feature. The program completed the first three steps of five. The system hung up on step 4.

The system enters a restart loop where I see the screen of the POST, the screen that allows me to choose an operating system (XP Home or Recovery Console), then the window a few seconds start screen. I tried the Recovery Console option and I get the error Mode recovery 0 x 24. I can't use any Safe Mode options, because they also cause a boot loop.

I'm unable to get a command line so that I can try the command fixmbr or fixboot.

I started with the Live CD Knoppix 6,7 and 12 LinuxMint and was able to see and access both partitions of the HARD disk. I was able to copy the contents of the Partition 2 to external USB HDD unsolved. I also made a copy of the MBR using DD.

I ran testdisk_6.13 which shows the parameters C/H/S are 24321/255/63, based on the HARD drive and 25841/240/63 for the NTFS. According to the Seagate, the C/H/S for this Barracuda HARD drive Web site is 16383/16/63, which doesn't have a size for the size of 200 GB. Phoenix Award BIOS shows 65535/16/255.

I want to fix/repair the HARD drive. Data and intact air applications. How recognizable HARD drive again?

    Thank you.

    Hello

It seems that the hard drive has failed. You will need to replace it as it is not really a way to fix them.
  • I am unable to run the tool on the properties of the error checking c drive

I am running Windows XP and can not get my disk c run time error check tool. Still, he said that Windows needs exclusivity to the files. He wants to check on reboot, I say yes to that, and then to restart it does not run the check. Thanks for your help.

    Hello

Why do you want to run the disk check?

Try the recovery console disc check and check.

  • Drive external DRIVE not detected (2 PCs), after turning off the PC during the error checking

I ran properties/tools/error-check on a (regularly used to back up this PC XP) external HARD drive. After 2 days, error checking was still running and not even 1/3 way 4th Phase but I need PC. It was not possible to stop "Error Check" from the dialog box then I tried Task Manager/Applications, which said that nothing worked, so I turned off the PC.

When I restarted the PC, external HARD disk was not in my computer. Control Panel of configuration/addition does not see it no more. However, when I plug / unplug the station. HDD USB cable, the computer makes a noise and is also recognized in "Device safely Shut Down" as a USB storage device mass (but no drive letter). I tried to start/run/Cmd/Diskpart/List Disk and it is not listed.

NB. I checked the post. HARD drive on a Linux PC, which also does not detect not, then it is certainly the post. Drive HARD, not the XP PC.

    Can offer you any advice?

    Hello

    · What is the number and the model of the hard drive?

As you mentioned that the issue isn't with the operating system but with the drive hard, for better support I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the hard drive.

You can also get in touch with any local technician who can help you with the same.

Each of the last depressed, ibmfilter.sys is involved in error checking.

Still, the nature of the kernel stack overflow is that all these filter drivers may contribute to the problem.  Most of the attached drivers are Symantec drivers, it seems reasonable that remove the Symantec software would certainly take care of the issue.  However, remove the Chuck ibmfilter can free enough battery to avoid the problem as well.  Or update the drivers involved could also have an impact, if changes have been made to account for this type of situation.
