Laptop screen resolution

I have a laptop HP ENVY dv6t-7300.  I would like to connect it to a monitor 24 "1920 x 2000.

My laptop has a maximum resolution of 1366 x 768.

A few questions...

(1) an average of the is the best HDMI cable to connect to the monitor?
(2) the monitor don't stretch 1366 pixels to fit the 1920 pixels or image will not fill the monitor?

(I dunno what video card is in the phone).

Thanks in advance.

~ Alan

Hello

Yes, it displays in its entirety. Worst case it will extend 1080 to 1200 and you may not notice this.

Kind regards.

original title: laptop computer screen resolution problem

Reference Dell Inspiration 8200 computer laptop running Windows XP.  The screen resolution is set to 1600 x 1200.  When I change to 1024 x 768 or 800 x 600, the Office is shrinking and is centered on the black space screen all around rather than to just all look more and filling the screen as it happens on my desktop computer.

  • Laptops, screen resolution and CS5

    Hello

I'm planning to buy a laptop to run CS5. I gave a few days when I discovered that all laptops under £1000 have a resolution of 1366 x 768. Even those who claim to be full HD, read the fine print, seem to be full HD only when playing a movie.

I intend to buy this one:

    http://www.asuslaptop.co.UK/prodDetail.php?prod=N53SN-SZ085V

until I read the full HD is only used to display movies...

Right now I'm completely confused because I used to run Adobe in my laptop, before versions of CS started the screen resolution higher demand. Does this mean I can't find a laptop under £ 1,000 to run CS5?

    Thank you

    Try this:

    Hz-4gb-500gb-Windows-7-Home-Premium-notebook-PC http://www.jigsaw24.com/Product-Details/p576aya/Sony-VAIO-f13m8eb-16.4-Core-i7-740QM-1.73G

It is available at LaptopsDirect to all about £800.

The resolution is OK, so is the graphics, for the CS5 first, but the HARD drive is low, and there is no Bay for a second HDD.  It also has a firewire port. I'm editing HDV on one of them, using a disk external eSATA for multimedia files.

At some point, I'll probably replace the HDD with a Seagate Momentus XT.

First make sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.  This usually means that get them directly from the site of the manufacturer; not Windows.

Try passing your parameters res 1920px at 1680px back and the screen "scale to fit".

My graphics card software provides a panel of independent settings to achieve this.

I think I need to clarify something because it looks like you n t know that the Tecra S4 has been delivered with different hardware specifications.

Contains first the Tecra S4 has been shipped with 2 different.
It supports two different views of color TFT
    -15, 1 "(1024 x 768)"
    -15, 1 '' (1400 x 1050) "

It seems that you have purchased a Tecra S4 model which was equipped with a 15.1 "(1024 x 768) display and higher resolution is not available!"

    Hello

There may be something wrong with the screen of laptop computers.
I guess that the graphics card is ok because the external screen works properly.

But it s very interesting to know if you are using the graphics driver from Toshiba. If this isn't the case, please check if this problem also appears after installation of the graphics driver from the Toshiba driver page.

    Hello

When I installed Win Xp on laptop & installed resolution of display drivers the screen changed to 640-480 with 4-bit color and can I change it.

I reinstalled Windows XP for 7 times, update the BIOS to 5.50, different versions of the driver installed, but have the same problem.

I found 2 of the same subjects, but they have no answer... :((

    Please, reply & help me.
I need to reinstall windows for my work as soon as possible.

PS. Sorry for my bad English.

    What is Device Manager?
Have you seen a yellow exclamation next to the graphics card?

Graphics card is listed in the Device Manager?

Passionate about hardware, so please don't feel expected excessive things for me.

Is it possible to get a screen resolution higher than stock, or better with the color / contrast?

I was always annoyed how to wash the stock on my watched Toshiba screen. Recently the screen is cracked, so I figure now is the best time to look at the options.

Google gave me very little information so far. I checked prices on replacement of the screen, with the part about being 60 and part + service with an average of 120, but that most likely leaves me with the same or lower screen quality.

I hope to find something more suited to the movies / games and in 1600 x 900 if possible.

Indications as to where I should start my search?

    Hello

    > Is it possible to get a screen resolution higher than stock, or better with the color / contrast?
Yes, this should be possible since the graphics card should support a higher resolution.

The laptop supports display TFT 15.6 "(HD).
You certainly have the same screen size.

Hi, I have a Tecra M5 and just bought a BenQ G2220HD monitor. However, I can't display the native resolution of 1920 x 1080. I guess it's a problem with my video card.

If so, can anyone please suggest what video card, I need to buy?

    Thank you

    Hello!

I checked the manual of your laptop (it can be downloaded from the Toshiba site) and it seems that the resolution 1920 x 1080 is not taken in charge.
Here is the list of manual of the supported screen resolutions:
    640 x 480
    800 x 600
    1024 x 768
    1280 x 1024
    1600 x 1200
    1920 x 1440
    2048 x 1536

I think that should answer your question ;)

And as Akuma says the graphics card can t be exchanged because it s soldered onto the motherboard. In the area of the FAQ in the forum, I founded this interesting article:

You want to change the resolution of your laptop screen?

I assume you have an XP operating system.
If you can make them using two different ways.

    (1) go to-> graphic display Manager Control Panel Intel-> in one available tabs, you can change the display settings

    (2) using a second way to make a right click on the desktop-> properties-> settings tab
There is also a setting to change the display resolution.

  • Portege R700 - cannot adjust the 1366 X 768 screen resolution

My screen does not have the entire screen - he ends up on about 2cm on the right side.

The problem is that I can't adjust the 1366 X 768 screen resolution. Highest on the list of options is 1200 X 800. I downloaded the current driver - but it does not help. I used system restore a few times and it is sometimes useful, but not always - IE, it defines the resolution of 1366 X 768, and all goes well.

    It makes me crazy!
    It's a R700, windows 7, 64 bit.

Are you using the original Toshiba recovery image? I mean the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop?

I mean the original image is designed for certain model of laptop, so I can't imagine that this problem occurs with the Toshiba drivers.

  • Satellite L500-13F (PSLJ0E) - wrong screen resolution

I have a problem with resolution in my new laptop Satellite.

This model has monitor 15.6 "and resolution 1366 x 768. In my book since the resolution is 1280 x 800, which means that on my screen, I see a black box on the right side, and I can't see the bottom of the screen. There is no possibility to change the resolution in the graphics options (all available modes are for a 4:3 display and are lower 1280 x 800) - which is strange - the refreshing rate monitor is 58Hz (?).

More strange is that from time to time (for 3 weeks, it happens twice) after the opening of my laptop, the resolution is correct (1366 x 768, 60 Hz and availble are all the other modes), but after the reboot, the resolution is wrong once again - even when starting.

I tried to Flash the BIOS, install new drivers, but the problem remains.

Prayer for all the advice (and sorry for my English)

    Hello

As you say the laptop supports the 15.6 screen "(HD) with 16:9 aspect ratio and native resolution should be 1366 x 768."

I have no idea why your resolution change but eventually it s just a graphics driver issue

As far as I know that the laptop uses the INTEL GL40 graphics chip is it normal?
In your case I would recommend GPU driver from the Intel page
Then, you need to install or update the driver in Device Manager
Simply mark the graphic card and use the Advanced installation, then pointing the driver files

In the Intel driver for mobility (in Control Panel) settings, you can also change the image format options
