Laptop speakers seem to be stifled on larger volumes, but not on small volumes

OK so bare with me here, I'm not a grumpy so please don't give me any input I will not understand. Laughing out loud. So recently, I noticed that during certain programs or the music I play, the volume on the laptop is muffled if the volume is greater than 60%. If I turn down, I don't seem to hear it, but I can't be 100% sure. I tried to adjust some settings under the part of the properties of the volume settings I found online, but I don't seem to have some of the tabs people have suggested using. My headphones work fine, works volume very well if it's low, but I can't use volume greater than 60% without him appearing dull and difficult to understand. If there is no importance, I have also updated Windows 10 a few months ago. My computer came with Windows 7 originally. It's a SONY VAIO E Series. I was wondering if it is just a blown speaker or something more specific like an update or a setting that I missed? In addition, no one knows how much it would cost to replace the pregnant if I take it to Best Buy? Not sure if I still have a warranty or not.

Thanks for any help in advance!

I have an A505-S6973 and today I lost volume on my speakers. When I took my headphones, I hear, but without the headset is plugged in, I have no sound from my laptop speakers.

I checked the Manager of devices for software problems but everything is erased, also, my volume is completely on.

I tried a restore, but in vain, as I tried to uninstall and reinstall the extra value package but when you try to run the software after extraction it an error [0x8146045B] reports itself.

This morning, everything seemed to work fine, the only thing I can think, I removed my places of sharing network of windows media.

If that's the culprit can someone guide me on how I can re - install. In addition, value added package question, is there something that can be done, because the buttong enable/disable touchpad when press nothing happens, but if I use the function with F9 key it activates / deactivates.

    Hello

Have you tried to reinstall a sound card driver? If you have not it, try it...

  • Pavilion DV4: Laptop plays sound through headphones but not by internal speakers

Audio was working fine on my laptop, when suddenly the laptop would not play sound with internal speakers.  If I plug in headphones sound is fine.  Execution of control panel of configuration/sounds shows 'Speakers and dual headphone - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC' enabled and set as the default device, as well as "independent double headphones" (enabled by default but not) and 'SPDIF (Digital Out via HP docking station)' disabled.  What can be wrong?

Cure the problem by uninstalling the CODEC driver, then restart Windows then reinstalled, and now things are ok again.

I tried the driver software without success. Windows Media Player does not work. I get an error message when I try to use it. What else can I try?   Carl

    Hello @hifive11,

I read your post on how your laptop speakers do not work, but the headphones work fine, and I'd be happy to help you in this case!

The first step that I recommend is to follow this document on the no sound on speakers (Windows 7). This should help to restore the sound from your speakers.

You can also activate the speakers on your computer as default playback device. This is possible by following the steps below:

    1. click on the Start button

    2. click on Control Panel

    3. click hardware and sound (the icons of sort by 'category' Control Panel) and then click on its

    4. under reading, you should see one or two speaker icons. One of them should have a green check mark next to it (which will be the helmet of your laptop device). If the second speaker icon is not visible, right-click in the list of devices and select Show disabled devices

    5. a second disabled icon "speakers" should appear. Right click on this icon, then click Activate

    6. test your speakers

If the problem persists, I recommend to you your laptop a previous restore point before the speakers stopped working. This can be done by following the steps described in this document on using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7).

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

    5. turn highlighted that speakers and click on "as default'.»»

    Method 2

Check with the volume settings and if it helps:

    (a) right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar, then select volume control options.

Laptop speakers stopped working everything suddenly while I was watching a movie. I checked with external speakers, and it works. I tried the mic check and it works. When I plug my headphones in my laptop, headphones work but the problem is that my laptop speakers not be muted when I plug my laptop headphone... .pllzzz help

    Hello

    Try the following.

Download the Realtek Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

Realtek HD Audio Driver - Windows 7/8.1

One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the Realtek device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

When you are finished, download and reinstall the Chipset driver at the following link.

Intel Chipset Driver - Windows 7/8.1

After reinstalling, shut down the laptop - if you are running Windows 8.1, this by holding down the key SHIFT left click Shutdown to temporarily prevent a boot hybrid.

Then disconnect the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the default values (sometimes it is f5, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the installation of Realtek Audio program and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  Left click 'Speakers and headphones' (or speakers/HP) once to highlight and then click set as default.

    Kind regards
