Downloaded Update Win XP repair?

Original Win have upgraded me to XP download so I do not have the discs (don't have the key). My XP has a few errors, I can't clear with restore (it helps that back about a month) makes him unstable. I would like to reformat and start over without having to buy the new operating system. Thanks in advance.

Did not keep the original XP download you did? If you did, you can burn it to a CD.

If you don't have and have no proof of purchase, your worst fears may well be carried out... Mike Hall MVP - Windows Desktop Experience http://msmvps.com/blogs/mikehall/

KB947821 is the tool of the system update, this isn't an update, it rather is a tool that will scan and fix of inconsistencies that may prevent the updates install correctly.

Since it is a tool, it is not available through Windows updates and you will be asked to download and run it manually if you encounter any problems.
