Laptop turns off keyboard

Hello
My laptop has stopped letting me use the built-in keyboard. I wasn't sure if the problem of hardware or software, so I connected an external USB keyboard.   It worked, then it is is arrested after a re-start, it worked again (external keyboard that is) but I noticed, it stops again sometimes after I close a program by clicking on the X (quickly a close symbol) with the mouse and then makes a beep or a double beep.  And sometimes I have move with just your mouse.   The keyboard edge doesn't´t ´work at all yet.  And sometimes after a reboot external is not authorized to run.

I guess it from the tone, something works actively while I use the computer, but it has clevelry off the Board for good keyboard.

Since I Don t know if it's a hardware problem or software/virus, is there anyway I can get Vista to help me locate what going on?

Thank you
Carl

Hi CarlBrazil,

Thanks for posting your answers.

Like reading, the beginning of this post that it sounded as if there might be liquid spilled in the keyboard circuits, however, I would like to examine all possible cause before solving it as collateral, unless the guarantee and information must be submitted to your hardware vendor to check the keyboard this case.

1. your keyboard type can be set to a language other than the one you want to use.

(You can customize your keyboard for a specific language or format by changing the keyboard layout. The layout controls, the characters appear on the screen when you press the keys on your keyboard. Some input languages have several keyboard layouts; others have only one. For example, you can change your keyboard type to the English QWERTY format to the English Dvorak format. After you change the layout, the characters on your screen may not match the characters on your keyboard. )

2. you can sticky fingers setting together on the design of your system.  (Click on StartORB / Control Panel / click clock, language, and region / click on regional and Language - Options you can enable or disable sticky keys here.)

If it's on, I recommend you turn it off.

This may be a problem with the power supply for laptop. Power drain the computer once and then check to see if the same problem still exists. In order to drain the computer, disconnect all external devices from the computer and also to take the charger and battery, then press on and press and hold power for 30 seconds and release.

Also a BIOS update if available on HP.com for model laptop.

You can also see the computer in BIOS. Power on the computer and immediately, press the F10 key to load the BIOS, and then leave the computer as it is in the screen of the BIOS for some time and check if the computer turns off again and if it still cell phone off on its own while it is in the BIOS then contact HP and arrange for the service on the computer

  • HP 15-r011na: laptop turns off when it is attached cable ca

Hi, I recently picked up the upgrade of Windows 10 and since then have had problems with the laptop switching power, do not know if it is related to Windows 10 but seems a coincidence!  When I got close I use the power on the screen completely closes the button and the laptop.  When I turn it on it's ok, if I have the AC cable disconnected (i.e. using battery power) but if I have the AC cable the screen goes off, but then goes black and seems to have turned off again, and I have to press the power button to put on the.  Also, if I connect the cable so that the laptop is on it goes black immediately, and if I delete it the screen comes alive again.  Can someone tell me what's going on that I have no idea about these things, and it makes me absolutely crazy!  I would really appreciate some advice please.

    Hi @Greenjack67 ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your laptop 15-r011na HP TouchSmart and the laptop turns off when it is attached cable ca. Here is a link to test and calibrate your battery for Windows 10.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

Plug the power supply directly into a different wall outlet. Do not connect it a power strip, surge arrester, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.

You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

Here is a document that shows how update the drivers that do not work correctly with Windows 10.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • My laptop turns off suddenly in use

My laptop turns off without any warning every 20-30 minutes

and he died 6-7 times a day.
    I use Windows Vista Home
My laptop was plugged into the electric current (I remove the top battery)
I tried to boot with safe mode and still, it turns off.

Can someone give me advice to understand the problem
I was very grateful to hear it.
    Thank you

A common cause of this kind of behavior is overheating. One thing to try:

Unplug the unit and remove the battery. Use a vacuum and target different cooling openings. Replace the battery and reconnect it. Check the operation.

  • Pavilion dv7 - 4183cl laptop turns off its own

My Pavillion dv7 - 4183cl laptop turns off its own without any warning or error messages and then restarts asking power on the passsord, etc. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium. Occurrences are more frequent over time.

The first thing I would check is your laptop fan. You hear it works while the laptop is on, or it is disabled? If the fan fails, the laptop overheats. To protect themselves, the laptop turns off. It could also be that you have little dust blocks the air fan. The best option is to have someone to disassemble the laptop and clean, but some people have managed with the help of compressed air. The problem with this is that it blows back into the laptop. Perhaps vacuum?

A farily common problem with most laptops is the integrated graphics processors. Over time, the GPU becomes disattached from the motherboard. If this happens, the laptop will be closed or does not start at all. Generally however, there isn't a lot of attention if that is the case, the computer stops working one day.

Turn is very likely a hardware problem and in your case, most likely an overheatng issue. Repaired by the manufacturer or a local service company that specializes in laptop computers (avoid the Geek Squad and any other department store; they are all the terrible).

Another thing is this may be WHAT BIOS is configured to shut down the PC at the same time. Which battery is low or adapter will be disconnected, and then PC also turns off. Some malware can also turn off PC, in order to check this run full scan with your anti-virus and see if something might detect.

  • The screen of my laptop turns off when windows start. What is the cause and how can I fix it?

    Original title: computer failure

the screen of my laptop turns off when windows start. What is the cause and how can I fix it. Thank you

You have the screen image out to another monitor (one that is not plugged in fact). How you pass to the internal laptop display varies, but most cell phone companies make a combination of keys, such as Fn + F6 or something.  Looking for a symbol that looks like a monitor.  It is usually color coded and requires activation of a Fn key.

  • My laptop turns off after that it lags behind. More details inside.

As the title says, my laptop turns off after that it lags behind. He accused the sound of something that fate of my speakers started his strange. Sound like a blur with tell them no matter what. Then my laptop everything is slowing down and there is a black screen. After that, it takes a few minutes to close.

It happens every time I play a video. Not all the time but most of the time. And whenever I try to play a game (Warcraft III to the PvPGN server) I can play, then he gets really laggy and my computer starts with fuzzy noise and turns.
Sometimes, he says something about iPoint.exe
7 laptop is a Toshiba window.
Please explain in a less complicated way due the fact that I'm not really good with technical equipment.

    Hello

You mean "goes out", that the computer shuts down? If so, it looks like his material for me.

  • Laptop turns off on off on off on--will not stop!

We have a dv6812nr Pavilion dv6700 model number that lights up for about 2 seconds (LED lights up but not black screen error message) but then goes off for a few seconds, then on, then turned off, then on, then off.  Repeat this process until we have hold the power button until it turns off constantly, or until the battery is removed.  Tried to remove the RAM sticks one at a time to see if it was a problem, but he did the same thing with each stick/off voltage.  Tried F8 and F10 to see if we could get up to a point located to perform some troubleshooting, but no.  Will not... just like marketing and works... stubborn.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

I have a DV6768se, which does the same thing. It is partly resolved like that.

I removed the battery and the back cover at the centre. I found the button cell for the motherboard, I removed and I left the laptop for about an hour. It allowed the bios reset the values by default, and then the computer will start and everything will work fine, until it will stop suddenly because of a mysterious reason and I had to repeat the same process to bring it to life.

Based on the post I've seen so far, this problem is related to the corruption of the Bios. I'm still in the process to get a correct solution. Two of them I've tried so far is as below:

1 downloaded wood HP update web site, it will not download not error 'for this machine. HP customer service is horrible - no support on this.

2 tried to do system restore, the process is stuck at 0% to "formatting the hard drive" for about 5 minutes and then the screen turns white.

3 has tried to load Windows XP, which formats the hard drive, load all the files, but will not accept the Windows XP serial numbers (all the good numbers from my other machines)

Finally I ordered the HP system restore CD, but I'm stuck with the same white screen again after blocked for five minutes at 0% to the formatting of the scene of the hard drive.

I bought another laptop HP (still under warranty) battery does not charge sometimes and some keys don't work. Terrible quality compared to the Dell laptops I've had to date.

Any help is appreciated. HP technical support will not sing unless feed you the at least $99 and looking at the quality of their technical support so far, I'm sure it will be a waste. I prefer to sell it on ebay and buy a Dell.

My next laptop will probably be NO HP.

  • My laptop turns off automatically

Hi, my laptop starts to turn itself off once in a while.

It happened only once in the first six months of ownership - I played a game for the better part of the day and the machine, I was aware, was very hot to the touch. It is now a year and my computer laptop is most often turned off and I use it less now than I was when I bought first, as I was at the University at the time. I have a feeling that it only happens when the machine gets too hot.

I was wondering if it's like a built-in security mechanism? Or is my laptop faulty? I have to put my mind at rest. Thank you!

Still several sensors are placed on the motherboard, and they check the temperature s notebook. When the temperature of the material reached the level critical, mobile will be disabled automatically.

You are right. It is a kind of protection mechanism.
What you can do about it?

As I see that you are a player and after many hours of hard work, I imagine that your laptop is now full of dust. The dust cooling and air conditioning grill blocks wind for your laptop can not be properly cooled.
I recommend that you clean your laptop. Do initially.
