  As long as the power cord is in the laptop is working fine but remember failure and the phone goes dead.   My old laptop battery is dead too much 6 years It's possible to use the laptop in the dough mode for just two minutes after the battery is empty, but I use the notebook with the AC adapter connected and that is why I don't need to replace the battery.
