  As long as the power cord is in the laptop is working fine but remember failure and the phone goes dead. A spare battery can be found on eBay just to use your HP part number and find a match to use. If that fails, they have guaranteed replacement here to remedy. Battery is best kept with the laptop plugged for the reason that it has been done. You will unplug it to consider somewhere and if it is not a battery and it is on it will be able to instantly. Is that reason laptop is a laptop for a reason.

  The other day, I bought my first laptop. A 17 '' HP Pavilion running Windows 7. My question is can I remove the battery and just run through the power cable? I heard that you can with some laptops, but not with others.

She said she would smoke less on the heat generated.  I wonder if this is advised.  If I remove the battery, I lose everything I'm working on.  I noticed it's hot, but not terribly so, and inconvenient, the vents are on the same side as the mouse.

  Where I live, it is not unusual for the flash output disabled for a second or two, if a storm is coming.  We have most of our serious electronics plugged into a battery backup, just for that purpose.  Unfortunately, we do have one for the laptop.
