Laptop won't connect to WiFi

Hello

I have a Lenovo G570, that will not stay connected to my wireless network. It is always connected no problem, but today just used to connect. I had the Windows updates 14 but have logged in since then. Today it auto connects and then I get the exclamation point on the wireless indicator which turns towards the circle of rotation, as it tries to connect. Sometimes he lets me get on the internet but then returned to turn the circle when I change web pages.

So far I have

run a full scan of AVG and spybot and both came back ok, except some etc tracking cookies that I deleted.

delete all of my wireless connections and created a new wireless profile

Searched updates pilot to date

All other features, PS3, iphones and Nexus connect ok

It works fine when it is connected via a lan cable.

Win 7 64 bit SP1

Atheros AR9285 wireless network adapter

Any advice greatly appreciated

Thank you.

Thank you for the answer. He has gotten a little more weird that the laptop would connect to another wireless network so I guess the router stopped the laptop connection.

I did reset the router and re-create the wireless network. A little heavy handed, Yes, but it worked... until now!

  • Windows 7 laptop does not connect to Wifi when the WPA2 security is Active

I have a rather unusual problem that my Compaq CQ56 laptop not not connect to my router, ASUS RT-AC56U Wi - Fi when WPA 2 security is active on the router. With WPA2 is off, it connects without a problem. But, when I turn it on WPA2 on it will not connect. This problem persists even if I change the WPA2 authentication code. All other devices at home are able to connect with the wifi with WPA2 enbabled router, and this particular laptop was able to do so until very recently.

Just to make sure that the adapter in the Compaq works, I just went to Starbucks and it connected to their wifi unsecured without problem.

I was using a TP-Link Wireless Range extender on the home network, but it was deleted.

I ran the network troubleshooting and Fix - It nothing works.

I suspect that for my home network installation file was corrupted on this laptop and I would like to know if there is a way to remove, or edit this file and start from scratch. I have a Compaq laptop earlier generation linking problem now. So I'm pretty a connection file corrupted is the problem. Just need to know how to solve this problem.

    Thanks for any help!

    Hi arcprasad,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Communities. The problem description, I understand that you are not able to connect to the WiFi network. Provide the following information for the better understanding of the issue:

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         You use a third-party security software?

    ·         Have what troubleshooting measures you tried?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

    Startup options (including safe mode)

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

  • Laptop won't connect to a wireless network

Hello. My Dell laptop has stopped to connect to a wireless network. He had been the connection very well for months until about a week ago. Then he would only reconnect when I restarted my laptop. Now it doesn't connect at all. I'm in Windows 8. I tried to solve the problems, but nothing worked, I also tried to remove the network from the list and reconnect, but without success. Any help would be great.

Windows 8 did a diagnostic self test... and it automatically fixed my problems with the connection via WiFi.   He is now on the connection manually.  Apparently, he has been on the connection automatically.  I have di0sconnected my Ethernet connection, before you run the test.  Then it is automatically set to manual connection.

  • After windows update 8 laptop does not connect to wifi

I have an Asus laptop with windows 8. After the update is no longer connected to any wifi. But my phone and xbox connect very well so I know that's not the router. I've already looked and tried the roll back driver option and it worked until I turned off my computer and came back to her. Hi @xxfireflies27,

Thank you for the information. I suggest some use Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7) to restore your laptop to a date where he worked.

If this does not resolve the problem, then you are looking to recover Windows 7 operating system using Microsoft Windows Backup and Restore.

I hope this helps, keep me posted on how it goes.

Good luck and have a great day!
