Availability MDS

Hello

I develop an application that creates a HttpConnection at the request of the user

I investigated the vays to make network connections and have studied the relevant articles.

I got the Simulator running connectivity using the MDS Simulator.

Is a standard service that is available on all devicees MDS?

Or otherwise:

Is it happened a certain OS from standard service? that is 4.2...

Is it happened a certain handset from standard service?

Is this a service downloadable update for all handsets or some value from?

I spent a bit of time to get these answers without success.

the following article is also interesting, but does not answer my questions.

http://www.BlackBerry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/348583/800451/800563/What_Is...

However, he mentions another option "Blackberry Internet Service"

You know nothing about it?

This service is a standard on all devices?

This service would help me create a one size fits all solutions according to the needs?

Is it difficult to be part of the Alliance program?

Appreciate the help,

Best regards

Bob.

Just answering this same question in this Thread.

http://www.BlackBerry.com/DevMediaLibrary/view.do?name=NetworkingTransports

This was my response:

This question is asked often, round eye for Threads with connection in the subject!

I presume that you have reviewed the video transport network:

http://www.BlackBerry.com/DevMediaLibrary/view.do?name=NetworkingTransports

I also recommend this post:

http://supportforums.BlackBerry.com/Rim/Board/message?board.ID=java_dev&message.ID=15610&query.ID=32...

Take a look at these, then come back with questions.  Ok?

Bob, I suggest one of the Threads are resolved and continue on the other, rather than having duplicates.

Edit: Note the correct link to the original in the post of Mantaker Thread below...  Sorry

  • Browser blackBerry Smartphones error message: u23 MDS Service not available

    Hi all!

I have a problem that is driving me crazy.  The facts:

I have a BB 9780 working with my companies BES which shows this message. Imposible to get any URL with it. Another application that requires this type of access cards does not either, even if the GPS can give propper place. It seems then must be associated browser.

    E-mail works perfectly.

Another BB [8910] have no problem in my BES. Just this one.

Already wiped and reactiveated... nothing changes.

Any idea? Each of them will be welcome.

I would ask my IT support team... but... I am the COMPUTER team

    Thank you!

    Enrique.

It's strange - as you write you have than one 9780 device that doesn't work do not give problem MDS, and others are functioning normally. This may mean that some problem with SB.

Possible so maybe two question here.

1 user on BES some problem - try to re - create (as usual with the COMPUTER policy and permission restriction)

2 problem can in device - try to wipe by BBSAK and first do "Factory reset" then "Wipe Device. then re - load a newer OS to the device. catering to the device only need information! AddBook, Messages, SMS, but no way to remove the system configuration and Options

  • MDS configuration for port channel

I tried to put in place the new download FC port channel to a pair of 9124 s MDS, but as I don't know enough on the side MDS, I can't the link to come. Are there references available anywhere say you blow by blow exactly how to set up the side MDS of the channel of the port? Or maybe an example of configuration work?

    Thank you

I don't think it's possible to configure the fabric of interconnections, FC switch mode that only VAN is based on those. The only mode of switch that is taken in charge and possible to configure is the local network Ethernet switching mode.

I have configured the week last on a pair of 9124 s MDS and needed to activate the F port trunking and channeling Protocol feature by using this command

    "feature fport-channel-trunk.

After that, I had to run SAN Port Channeling. Here's a snipit of my configuration:

    fport-channel-trunk feature

    rate switchport dedicated mode

  • Clarification: Default Http connection suffix is MDS/BES?

    Hi all:

I had reviewed most if not all doc and discussions on the definition of the networks for the http connection. (Thanks Peter Strange)

I need clarification on the behavior if no suffix is provided (example: Connector.open ("www.blackberry.com"))

    This is supposed to Connector.open ("www.blackberry.com;deviceside=false") - a BES/MDS connection as default

On my Storm V4.7.0.75 no suffix works but "; deviceside = false' does not work.

Since my Storm is not part of the company's network should work...

    Am I missing something?

Verizon is an exception, they have a direct TCP stack available on the device.

  • Availability of BES and BIS

    Hi guys,.

The question is really simple to someone who knows the answer:

Is it possible that BIS is not available but BES is?

We have problems with https, I suggested that we must always use BIS rather BES for https. But I am aware that if he disconnects the user companies.

I will also play with the resumeable calls - to send or receive data in small portions over https. I think that this will solve the problems with https connections.

    Thank you

    Eugen

    Short answer Yes.

It is possible that Blackberry devices are actually allowed to use BES/MDS only for their activity on the internet - which means that all Internet activity is carried out via the network of companies and thus the corporate firewall.

  • Problem in sending the request to the server, MDS started after expired connection error

    Hello

I have a problem when sending request to the server. I need to manage the time of connection error. When I send a request from my device to serve and connection time-out error, I need to send the request back to the server.  To test this error, before sending the request, the MDS quit and then I try sends the request to the server. After 2 minutes, the appliance up Connection Timed out Error.

Now when I start the MDS and refer the request to the server, the request sent when the connection has expired also reached the server. (Totally 2 request are sent to the server).

What is the behaviouir of MDS? If so how should I handle this.

or have I missed something on my side?

I use BlackBerry 4.2.1 JDE with SDM (4.5.0)

    Thanks in advance.

(Note: see this link for the behavior of MDS.)

    Hi all,

    I finally found the solution.

Everytime I go to start the net, I check that the connection is available or not by using below codes...

    HttpConnection conn=null;try    {    conn = (HttpConnection) getConnection(myURL);      if(conn == null)     {           Inform the user the process is in offline       }     catch(Exception e)      {      }      finally      {                try                {                    conn.close();                    conn = null;                }                catch (Exception e)                {                    conn = null;                }            }

When this function is execute the connection is not closed properly.

After that I got the connection error, start the MDS, meanwhile runs unclosed connection.

Now, I removed the check above, its works very well.

I made a mistake. Finally, I saw that and correct it.

Once again thanks for all your opinions and answer.

    Sorry for my English.

  • Full version BES download is not available?

I tried to access the BB 9000 Simulaor browser, but could not. Then, I tried to launch SDM - CS and then tried browsing. He works first.

Now I have a problem with MDS - CS now, that does not work properly. It opens and then closes immediately. Then I googled the resolution, link below said I should install BES and configuration settings.

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB11117&sliceId=SAL_Pub...

Now I am tying to download "Pack in Service BlackBerry Enterprise Server version 4.1 software. But nowhere I found the full version of BES versions because my computer is not a basic version of BES itself installed.
I tried in the downloads section in the website of BlackBerry, but I could only find versions available BES software upgrades. As whenever I tried to install the versions he asks so first install version complete 4.1 or more.
I do not get the full version or the original version of BES 4.1 or 4.0 any where. It is to be a really difficult thing with BB still to find at least a software, other environment.

  • HttpConnection works with MDS, but how about Wi - Fi?

    Hello

I have a really strange problem, I open a URL like this:

    httpConnection = (HttpConnection) Connector.open (m_sURL);

    status = httpConnection.getResponseCode ();

It works if I am connected to MDS, but if I take the SIM card it does not Wi - Fi. Browser works on a Wi - Fi connection.

Help, please! What I am doing wrong? The specified URL is a URL HTTPS (not HTTP), but which works very well with physicians.

I want to use MDS when they are available, other use Wi - Fi, to the moment I even don't care MDS, Wi - Fi is extremely important to make it work.

    Concerning

    Lionel

Too bad, think about it. Add '; interface wifi =' at the end of the URL.

  • Better route for MDS for PlayBook app support?

    RIM ISV here

looking to port our ISV BlackBerry 6.0 and app Android 2.3 for the PlayBook.

We are a COMPUTER security product is therefore the biggest concern.

Our product requires request HTTP and Socket connections MDS (via BlackBerry Bridge or other) level.

What is the proposed route of action?

    • Write a new app Playbook Adobe Air SDK?

    • Wait for Playbook Java Player?

    • Expect the Android player?

Not that I know of. Someone can correct me if that's wrong.

The reason is (I believe) because the devices are wifi only at this time and have no native functionality of PIM, so they just don't need. Later this year, there are supposed to be announced with integrated wireless modems, and I have to assume that direct connections of MDS will be available right here.

You can use the browser 'bridge' If you have the bridge connected in order to get the connection through your BB smartphone user. However, the capacity is not exposed in the SDK.

Overall, the SDK is rather limited at this stage. I would say that it supports only 30% of the capabilities of the Java SDK currently EHF.

    Hi Jo Bo.

What version of the software if your MDS race?

On your UCS do connect nxos and show ficelleStringString ficelleT inteface and find the mac address.

It is possible that you could be hitting the bug below. If this is the case, you may need to update the firmware on your MDS.

We could consolidate the FI and the primary and subordinate, even here for MDS in we need FI. or it will be through FIS?

If not these 2 MDs they work as independent but share the configs that happens between them?

Now this never changes (creation area) we do on MDS1 hope that will get relpicated in MDS2 through FIS?

If MDS1 fails will be all the configuration is available on MDS2 and yet infra smooth it won't work? and vice versa?

All the additional steps to be performed to achieve this?

Which is the best way to do this please suggest

    Thanks and greetings

    Jose

    Hi Jose.

    Physically, your connection is good.

On the side of the UCS, the role of "Primary" and "Subordinate" refer only to the management of the system and the device that actually performs UCS Manager.

Each MDS device will have a separate configuration (zoning).  It's different between the 2 devices.

The blade itself will be a connection on each side, or the "fabric SAN.

    for example

    +----+

    +---+    +-----+

    |   |    |     |

    |   |    |     |

    |   | SAN |     |

    | +->----<--+ >

    | |         |  |

    | |         |  |

    +---+-+-+    +--+--+--+

    |       |    |        |

    | MDS - A |    | MDS - B |

    +--^-^--+    +---^-^--+

    | |           | |

    +--+-+--+    +---+-+--+

    |       |    |        |

    | UCS - A |    | UCS - B |

    +--+----+    +-----+--+

    |               |

    |               |

    VSAN100 +-+ | VSAN200

    |    |     |    |

    +----><>

    | Blade |

    +-----+

The blade will have a HBA on FabricA (VSAN100) and FabricB (VSAN200)

Each HBA has a different WWPN, and on the Bay of SAN, each controller will have a WWPN

So on MDS - A, the zoning will be:

    Blade WWPN

    WWPN primary storage has

    WWPN secondary storage has

MDS - B, the zoning will be:

    Blade WWPN B

    Storage WWPN primary B

    Storage WWPN secondary B

So the configuration is * not * synchronized between both MDS devices, but each of them have visibility to the device of vHBA of blades.  At the level of the blade, the software of multiple paths on the operating system will handle any failover.

On the UCS, we would usually use a channel from Port to the MDS.

< SkinFactoryImpl > < getSkin > cannot find a skin that fits the family portal and version v1. We will use the portal.desktop of the skin.

You must install the latest patch bundle for WebCenter portal.

I believe that this error is a bug caused by certain features that are available in the portal Builder, but not in a framework application.

Basically, WebCenter is throwing items of metadata to specific models of devices. In the portal Builder, you can create different templates depending on the device, but this feature is not available in the framework where the error.

Just install the latest patch bundle and your problem should be solved.

Also... Note that Oracle recommendation is to use the portal generator and not to develop any new application with the framework.
